Interesting event..   In the shop for my first visit, (mid damsel in distress quest from cursed loot), when Master instantly asked me to display for Mr Mctavish..  It was interseting as the scene simpley had me chained up, striped of some of the damsel devices and without any text or animation shop devices were slowly added as if Mr Mctavish were there but he was no where to be seen..  The scene did play through and finished fine but lack Mr Mctavish and any dialogue until the end where I was asked did I want to wear or remove devices..

I am trying to get around the installer by cherry picking the CD 4.5 zip (Using NMM .56 and really don't want to upgrade) but when I re-zip the folders and use it, I never get a MCM menu.

Am I doing something wrong, or is it a fool's errand in the first place?

First thing that is wrong is NMM, I'd suggest switching to MO, it's much better and safer to use, it can't destroy your Skyrim like NMM :D

Well running an obsolete version with a mod that's designed with the new version in mind, kinda to be expected.

But I've used NMM for years with close to 100 mods, only pain was the 5x to the 6x version.  Other than that worked perfectly for me.

Purplewing, yeah I think you can mark down your issues to self inflicted, sorry.

Been using NMM since day 1, no issues ever. I have currently 323 installed mods and 191 active plugins. No issues at all with NMM.

I uninstalled and reinstalled 4.05 with the patch (got missing textures and lookup failures without it), started a new game, now Mecius is constantly force greeting me in the mines even if I let him run through all his dialogue without skipping any and I can't mine as a result.

Ok, so I uninstalled and deleted v4.05 and the patch, re-downloaded them and reinstalled them (I only replaced the English and captured dreams.esp parts of the patch). I started a new game and chose a retextured vanilla hair over a HDT physics hair and disabled Wet and Cold. This time Mecius did not loop his dialogue and the mines worked correctly. I was also finally able to exit the mines without immediately CTDing (I've been having a lot of FootIK errors since installing the new CD and upgrading other mods, hence reducing the load on my game by using a plain hair and disabling other features, so hopefully I've solved those issues now, though I would at least like to be ale to use a nicer hair again even if I can't use wet and cold anymore).

Anyway, new issue, directly outside the mines there are a load of black blocky shapes everywhere, maybe supposed to be plants? I took a screenshot. I've never come across this issue before but had noticed some intermittent texture errors before installing the patch (arius for example on the ship sometimes had white/pink textureless clothes and sometimes had properly textured clothes, and Herran, Master, Nissa and the other girl all started off with textured clothes in another playthrough, then randomly all lost their textures and went white/pink.

Okay... the sky is messed up as well... anyone got any idea what is causing this?

Edit: I exited to desktop and restarted the game, all texture issues in the screenshots are now gone...

Edit 2: I'm CTDing every time I get past Half Moon Mill and head to the left.

Your PC ran out of VRAM and/or your GPU ran into heat problems.

And getting rid of script heavy mods (like Wet & Cold, Frostfall, Need mods and the like), that constaly do things in the background, is always a good idea if one tries to debug things.

Especially if one has a weak CPU and i don't mean mainly GHz or cores but L3 cache. So a 3.5GHz, quad core office CPU with it's 3MB of L3 cache is a weak CPU.

I'm running:

OS: Windows 10

PSU: 750W

CPU: Intel i7-6700k (I think this is 8MB cache)

GPU: GTX 970

RAM: 16GB DDR 4

Motherboard: Z170X Gaming 3

Which is less than 7 months old and  believe a pretty good gaming pc. Even with Wet and Cold disabled and Most of DCUR disabled and a non hdt hair I'm still getting FootIK errors. I'm also getting CTDs just past Half Moon Mill now, I don't think I have any mods (beyond texture/appearance mods) that affect that area and I went back a save and disabled DCUR completely just in case, still CTDing in the same place every time :/

Edit: I went back to the save just before I triggered CD slavery and went to the area I've been CTDing in since leaving the mines, and no CTD. Could it maybe be due to the CD expansion? Even though I'm leaving the expansion area rather than entering it :/

Yep, you have a pretty good gaming PC.

There are ofc better PCs, but there are worse as well, just in case someone feels to urge to say that your PC is low-end.

The expansions of the CDS raise the VRAM load noticeably. Many unique textures and quite a few NPCs.

Running non-compressed textures at 2k+ will pretty much kill the game as soon as the expansion is fully build, simply because the games engine is at its limits and "NASA hardware" won't change much about that ... unless the hardware overhauls the games engine somehow.

Not to mention many running scripts combined with the scripted Ai of the CDS personal and the way the game caches data like textures.

I don't recall if my textures are compressed or not, I will have to look in to that.

I'm attaching my latest papyrus, maybe somebody more mod/papyrus savvy can help me work some of the kinks out of my game? I've been mucking along pretty well, but my game seems to be slowly getting buggier.

I started again and I'm CTDing on attempting to leave the mines again. My Papyrus has a lot of warnings 'warning: xxx on script xxx attached to xxx cannot be initialized because the script no longer contains that property' almost all of which are related to CD but I'm also getting a few of them for other mods. I'm also spotting 'missing file?' for some things such as hdt high heels related things (which I uninstalled a while ago as none of my mods should require hdt high heels any more) and fnis (I have v6.3 and ran it before playing). Finally I'm spotting errors relating to not having unofficial skyrim/hearthfire/dawnguard patches, was I wrong in thinking I didn't need the 3 separate patches as I have USLEEP instead? There may be more issues hidden in there. If anyone can help? If I can get my game stable/clean again I can hopefully be more help with debugging CD (plus I really really want to be able to play it).

Skyrim with non compressed texture and CD 4.05 runs fine on my 4 year old laptop which is far inferior to your PC :

CPU intel core I7 2670QM (2.2 GHz - 3.1 GHz) 6 Mb cache

GPU GTX 560 M 3 GB

RAM 8 GB

Thanks for reaffirming that :)

I'm thinking (much as I really don't want to) I may have to wipe all my mods and my skyrim install and re-install everything from scratch to eliminate left over traces of old mods/bugs which may somehow be interfering with even my new games... :(

it runs fine on my old C2D E6850 (which is almost as old as some of the users here), 8GB DDR400, Radeon 6970 2GB VRAM at playable FPS too when using 2k opt textures, but Skyrim runs quit differently on almost similar systems, depending on quite a few things which involves OS stuff as well.

So what i said was more a general info, so if anyone has problems this can be used as starting point. if no problems occour then just keep playing.

Not to mention that i saw Skyrim crashing on systems that are way more powerfull than my main PC, so please don't post things like "But it runs on my 486SX" because this helps less then trying to point to possible error sources. Other suggestions just lead to a flood of people that mod Skyrim to the brim and then wonder why after x hours the game starts crashing or behaving weird.

I'm eager to try this mod but I read a few pages back that the Hydra Slavegirls mod was causing some problems, is that still the case? I don't want to get rid of it as it provides a great amount of immersion, I don't want my character to be the only one to be bound in the world.

If there are still problems, can anyone recommend me a similar mod to Slavegirls?

Thanks!

Well, it's a moot point, because the upgraded NMM won't install CD either.

I don't know what my computer wants anymore. Maybe a blood sacrifice?

If you don't want to move to MO, technically you can repack this mod manually and install it via NMM that way, only rezipping folders wont work

Pick all the files and folders from 00 Base, pick everything from CBBE (or UNPB), pick one of the Tex options (only one), and place all of that into new folder, then what you need to do is open that new folder, select all files and press "Add to Archive" (if you're using 7zip, if not, it'll be something similar), and then just add the new zipped file manually via NMM

But again, I really recommend MO, it's much easier :D

Edit: Before adding to Archive, the files in new folder should look like this

The only time i could replicate the newest NMM not installing CDS was when i installed NMM in C:\Program Files and have it install into C:\Program Files.

if your game and/or NMM is installed into their default folder, then change this to avoid UAC trouble.

The last but very unlikely reason is a temp folder that reached the max amount of files and/or folders.

But it can't hurt to clean it with tools like CCleaner f.e.

But again, I really recommend MO, it's much easier biggrin.png

Not everyone has the time and/or will to learn how to use MO, so it can become a nuisance or another error source.

Totally true, if a person wants to move to MO, It's highly advised to read a serious tutorial about it or watch tutorial videos (from Gopher for example) :)

I Don t think this is an issue of the mod, and I also don't think it is an issue of the PC. A week ago I bought myself a new PC,

CPU intel core i7 5820K 16 mb cache,   GPU ATI radeon R9 390 series 8 GB, RAM 16 GB DDR4, I know it is not bad.

A new pc, a fresh install of skyrim. mods which I already had and played with, new installed. what could be wrong.

However CDr won't work for me anymore. When I install, and start new game, CTD. Off course I use LOOT and Fnis. So tried CDr lower in loadorder is playable until I want to craft or mine something. That doesn't work anymore and enchanting alchemy etc etc are also disabled until I disable CDr.

I is really a pity but it seems I can't play with this mod anymore.

And that is Skyrim. not the PC or the mod.

End of property slavery bug (v4.05 with LESP)

I started a new game as a mine slave. Then I was sent to the manor as a manor slave. Now I have finished sweeping this manor (32 manorstatus points).

Next morning I wait for Master and Markus arrival at the main table. Markus tells me "There you are" and adds that Master wants to talk to me. Master tells me "There you are" and makes her offers.

First try I choose to be a relationship slave : Master asks me for my choice of devices,  I am teleported to Master's bedroom, she chats with Ariasha, Ariasha use her dildo on me, No'Dra brings the devices, Master congratulates her, then Ariasha equips me ... I am happy and go outside after saving the mod ... some time later Herran comes and immobilizes me. I reload and try to talk to Master before exiting the Manor and she tells "There you are" and the chain of events decribed above restart.

Second try I chose freedom. Master tells me that Markus will return my gear, I am teleported to my initial room (1st floor), Markus gives me the basic rules (obey everybody who has a higher room), then walk away. I use MCM to free my PC, and when I go talk to Markus or MAster, they gives me the "There you are" and proceed as if the previous scene had not occured.

Is there a command to manually end this slavery?

Hmmm, yet you mention that it's advised to make sure to spend the time to seriously look at the MO tutorials?.  I just click two buttons with NMM and didn't need any :)

I know MO has way more features and is a solid util,  and I believe a must if you're going to install tons of mods as you can merge them.   But as I wasn't going to need that, I took the simpler route and used NMM.

----------------------------------------------------

Purplewing.

One thing I can think of, did you add the CD mod into NMM with the '+' key (import) and then run the install, or did you dump the file direct using cut/paste into the NMM MOD directory and then install?  Because if so, that causes problems.  It does some background stuff when you import which is missed when outside cut/paste.  Mention that (as I did before I believe) as it's temping to cut past all the old mods you have and then just start installing them.  And some work that way, others don't (cursed loot is another you can't c/p directly).

Def not memory (cpu or gpu).  My machine has 2gb/1gb respectively and works.

If you're reinstalling Skyrim from scratch and have lots of mods, WAY more likely the difference is the way the mods were installed.  Mod install order (not load), different file replacements when prompted.  I almost went crazy with one mod, and the difference was just one answer to the 'yes replace' and 'yes replace all' on the install.

Edit: btw your alchemy mod just one?  If so what is it, will fire it up and see what happens on my install.  Only one I have now is the slow effect mod (potions take time) and it's tiny.

which mod?

...

which mod?

What was the best answer to the question?

My example was not related to CD.  Just the general case that when doing a new Skyrim install + mods, that in itself introduces potentially many new changes that are unintended.   I have mods going back couple of years, I have no idea the install order or replacement choices I made at the time. Also those mods were probably installed over time, one at a time.  Now I install them all at once, start Skyrim and hope MCM doesn't explore setting up 20 MCM menus all at once.    So on a 'fresh' install, my Skyrim setup when I install CD again will probably be different.

For the answer, with no log messages etc. try and think of any overlap that the two mods can have conflicts.

Try flipping the install order of said mods.

Check each file before doing an overwrite to see if anything looks dangerous.
