I remember astymma saying something about the skeletons not being cut out for it; when you mount a horse in TES, it kind of welds the skeletons together or something & that ability isn't there for fallout games.

In that video, it said something like the skeleton is unique for both, I want to understand better what's behind that, I really would like to understand how to do that horse thing. Did you see that video of the rideable horse? it's amazing. Really, that guy in a video showed me everything I ever wanted to in NV. Even a dual uzi! well, I wanted a dual pistol but it's the same.

Now if horses are not in Fallout world I think I could stick with another tamed beast. If enclave tamed Deathclaws, a courier that conquered the whole Mojave should be able to tame... uhm... at least a molerat, maybe? ok, ok, it could be slow but... I would feel sooo bossy, roaming around with a big scoped rifle, over the back of a molerat...

Any beth modable game is worth the wait and price since beth games always leaves everything unfinished so mod community swoops and make awesome stuff, just hope they make something that would wow us, cause face it skyrim is not much of a wow factor in vanilla. Oh oh new vegas continue after end game mod is expanded now, with npc comments after the events.

As long as they make the dam engine stable, I could care less about the content, as stated above the most excellent and talented people of the various on line communities, "ahem LL" , will make it great.

There was a Brahimin/Bighorner riding mod on Nexus I think at one point. Wonder if it could be modded to work with Buttercup.

Bwhahah! Now that's funny, I don't care who you are. What about Bittercup on a Buttercup? Now that picture made me fall out of my chair. I wonder could we make it a "Ghostly" Toy Horse? ~snickering~

invaidfate did showcase a video of a Rideable Horse in FNV. Don't hold your breath, it was never intended for release.

Yeah, I think it borrowed a horse from somewhere, but surely someone can make a horse from scratch or make the GiddyUp Buttercup mechanical Horse animated & rideable :/

Actually there is a mod with an animated mechanical Buttercup toy large enough to ride and it's an NPC you can hire! Should be easy enough to make the rest for it. Nino made it in his mods, EZ Companion Type-N version 5 or 6 I think. I have all version of his work from nearly the beginning if you want to look at it. He calls it "Uma" and puts it under creatures dog category.

I am like, so totally into my Fallouts. First non-linear, open world game I ever played was FO3. Despite the glitchy-bugginess of the game, I thoroughly enjoyed it and FNV when it came out.

ADDICTED! Especially after discovering modding.

That said, I hope like hell that FO4, wherever they locate it, is at least as good, my real hope being that they fix/replace the engine so it's stable.

On another note concerning ratings, both FO3 and FNV were a major disappointment for sanitizing the drug/slavery/sex aspects of the game. Reminds me of a Disney Movie Fairy Tale, so rehashed, chopped up and sickly sweet it makes me wanna puke.

Have you read the ORIGINAL fairy-tales as they were FIRST wriiten? EGAD! What Horrors!! [yeah, I know, off on a tangent], but SO TRUE!]

Especially the sex end of it. I mean, really! Fade to Black?

I quote Gearge Carlin [comedian], who said " I'd rather have my kids watch 2 people making love, rather then let them watch 2 people trying to kill one another"

And yet our society "promotes" murderous mayhem on TV, in movies, and in life. I mean back in the '50's, you couldn't even show blood onscreen, and nowadays, movies like the SAW series that kill/dismember in the most horrific ways some sick screenwriter can devise. Problem? YES! Life eventually imitates art...

With that, I,d rather be able to "bang" my way through some adventures as opposed to having to slaughter everyone. Main reason I love SexOut.

So give me a game that actually has what they say they rated it for. SEX is good, murder bad.

I've got some bad news. Chances are it'll be the skyrim engine. If we're lucky we might get some bug fixes.. ;) On the other hand, it'll *look* as good or better than skyrim, which is fantastic.

They can leave the sex out, suits me just fine, as long as they don't screw the engine up so bad that we can't add it in ourselves. I'd say sex has come as far or farther than violence or drug use since the 50s. Actually nevermind the 50s, porn has been shown in public movie theaters in the US since the 20s.

There's a simple reason sex doesn't make it far into video games. If it did, nobody would carry or distribute it. What do you think would happen if I tried to put Sexout on the steam modder thing? ;) If you self distribute a multi-million dollar AAA title, you may as well just light a pile of cash on fire instead.

This may change now that digital delivery is really taking over, but it won't be a quick change.

I agree. We (modders) would do it better anyway so they can leave it out completely. Just create a stable game engine with proper tools for the modding community and let them "add" content that is needed.

Damn I hate to admit this, but Prideslayer is correct, it will be on the Creation "Crap" engine, and the amount of sex will be minimal, this is based on the difficulty in getting proper ratings and most notably, sales, games with Adult ratings will not get mass marketed and sales show the results.

I doubt highly is will be New Vegas 2, think more along the lines of Boston? MIT? The Commonwealth? The Institute? and possibly a connection to Chicago.

A game development company as big as ZeniMax media, etc. does not send an entire team all expenses paid to MIT and Boston to do research for no reason at all.

I stated before "Pinkerton" in the Broken Off Bow of the Rivet City air craft carrier knew what was coming, I believe this was done deliberately, not as a ruse or a propaganda stunt to get people thinking in the wrong direction either.

I've just barely got into Skyrim 3 weeks ago and I'm already hating a lot of crap in it. TFC camera ridiculously moves way too fast and the way it's performed with the movement is just retarded. Even more stupid when your on a rideable creature such as the vanilla horse and it moves when you move the camera making it difficult to take screenshots. I'm guessing there's tweaks for this some where in the .ini files? Anyways, I've detected many flaws out of Skyrim that almost pushes me to give up on the game. If FO4 is going to use this engine then I hope that it doesn't have the flaws I'm currently detecting. I don't know how the hell they implemented dual wielding but you only see one of the one hand weapons holstered. The other one just amazingly appears when you equip the main hand weapon.

There's no point in a New Vegas 2. It's a has been. Despite that I do not like New Vegas, people want to see something new. Discover some new state with new landscape and structures. I don't see what a New Vegas 2 could possibly offer other than the same desert and broken down homes and visiting New Vegas again. It's been discovered. There's nothing new you haven't seen. Or what? They are going to modernize New Vegas and add The Wynn? Add Circus Circus? lol... And some circus clown fiends? That should of been something they should of added to begin with. Then maybe I would of had the heart for the game.

There's a utility called Skyrim ScriptDragon that fixes the out of control TFC.  But YEAH, skyrim is shit.  So is New Vegas.  I always knew NV was a waste aside from weapon mod kits and ammo variations, but I had no idea how fucked up that game is until I started really modding it recently.  Once I finish this project I'm working on there will be no more NV esp work for Kendo 2.

Hopefully BethSoft will fix their fucking Creation Engine and put a little more effort into FO4 than they did Skyrim.  But I doubt it.

At least it's better than FO3...  :D

Seeing as so many people find major reasons to hate any one Bethesda title, it follows maybe Bethesda just aren't very good at making games... I know I haven't been overly impressed with anything they've released since Skynet.

EDIT: HATE, not *have*. That message makes no sense otherwise! Damn me and my typos...

They don't know how to complete a game. I'm not certain about Oblivion. I haven't really given it a chance just yet. Only a few hours, which isn't anything. I can speak out for FO3 FNV and Skyrim so far. I don't think Skyrim completely sucks, but all that hype about it back then and even now, well... I'm not feeling it. I do enjoy it and one o the best features about Skyrim that I do like is the huge a__ open world. So if Fallout 4 is going to be on the same byro engine Skyrim is on, I hope they really decide to use up that whole huge world because it really makes FO3 and FNV world so tiny.

Beth just needs new developers. There are some really above talented modders out here and on Nexus that can easily help make these games have that extra punch.

NV has about a third of the map area as FO3.  And even inside the mapped areas there are all of those cliffs and rocks and collsion markers.  That's just fucking lazy, since land can be automatically generated...unless that is broken in the NV GECK too.  That would explain why NV is so empty.  Whudda SHIT game it really is.  I hope they bring NOTHING from NV to FO4, least of all their pointless faction system and the stupid circular NPC dialogue.  Let's face it, when Ken Rolston left BethSoft to work on Kingdoms of Amalur Bethesda went to shit.  When the brains and driving force behind Morrowind, Oblivion and FO3 (he left during Broken Steel, I think) walks off you can see what is left behind and what kinds games we get out of them.  New Vegas...Skyrim...*bleargh*.

Actually, NV is larger in height, but smaller in diameter, because of its rectangular shape, while FO3's was a perfect square. They are roughly the same size. I agree FO3 had more exploration value and more "stuff" to the wasteland, but that is the only  thing I give it credit for.

The writing, dialogue and factions of FNV make infinitely more sense than FO3's. Yes, NPC's don't talk to each other like they did in FO3. But then again, FO3 had like what, 3 NPC's per city? A desolate wasteland without a single well, uncontaminated river or farm, no trees, no vegetation, no nothing, yet life inexplicably exists. An economy that makes no sense whatsoever. No form of dynamic economic interdependence or relationship between the towns, alluded or otherwise. And the town's? A shack with a family living in it? A town of kids living a stone's throw away from a super mutant base holding them back with wooden plank walls while BoS knights that defend the wasteland fighting "the good fight" (what a bastardised faction!) are getting their asses handed to them with power armour and laser gatlings.

A recycled, bastardised and dumbed down FO2 plot (which was itself recycled from FO1) which adds nothing to the franchise and makes ZERO sense whatsoever. The river is irradiated - people seemingly are managing fine without it. So purify it, then contaminate it again? Unless every single person in the Capital Wasteland drinks from it simultaneously, that plan will fail the minute people notice whoever drinks from the river dies. And then... life returns to exactly back how it was before - people surviving inexplicably without food and water. Don't get me started on Eden's circular logic. Or the butchered RPG elements which FNV only barely managed to reintroduce.

So yeah... great game. It may be the case that modding's easier for it, but that doesn't make it a better game.

I like FNV better.  Why?  Because I do, that's why.  Is there a better reason than that?  Frankly, I'm still not convinced there will be a 4.  If I were them, I would milk the shit out of it by not working on 4, but make mention of it in the right places, in order to revitalize 'announcements and rumors are free advertising' the products I currently had on the market.

So I'll believe it when I see it.

Pointless FO3 v FNV argument #16546435 :P

I don't know what it is with these games that causes them, really. Maybe you just spend too much time walking around, looking at things, thinking about things... I mean, every other game I've played these last ten years had some serious flaws. Whether it's a shooter, an RPG or a strategy game - fuck, don't even get me started on Sims 2 ;)  Bottom line: they all need mods to make them enjoyable enough, at least to play them more than once.

All games have serious drawbacks, imho, but FNV had many more than usual. Terrible redundant dialog mistakes, I would see the same lines of dialog repeated many times, this is just seriously lazy writing and horrible QA. Some of the land barriers were very odd as well, I can climb over this mountain, but not that one? Just odd. Finally someone who actually knows about the industry and pays attention to the consequences of a loss to it, I agree with Kendo on the Ken Rolston point, it's quite obvious his input is missing. Yes many elements in both FO3 and FNV made no sense at all, but it's just games after all. Now if I get my seat at the helm? Which may just happen sooner than I expect, then along will come a uniquely different experience and game. One with more realism, believable plots and situations, non-circular dialog, limitation in exploration only when they make sense, As in, "Oh darn I guess I cannot go that way, there was a landslide here last night. Yes FO3 certainly had lots of stupid situations as well, BOS sitting high in the Citadel and not able to "Contain the Super Mutant threat" I found that hysterical, or "Don't Go to DC it's a Warzone" And you go there and there is like 5 BOS and a handful of mutants, ridiculous.
