This the first time I have encountered such a weird issue. Unless someone comes along and either disproves or backs up my claim is really hard to say what the actual source of the problem is.

I also ran into that at least once while trimming down my load order, and I can guarantee it's not a DDNG issue.  After all I still use the DDNG install and one of my mods uses that full rope harness outfit in a quest, which is what makes it really noticeable if the body size and the harness size are mismatched.  And since I still use DDNG (Version downloaded from here) and I don't currently have that problem, means you probably have an additional slide not being built correctly, or a conflict of some sort.

EDIT: the outfit I normally see is just Ropeharness, not Ropeharness full, but they are currently working out the same in bodyslide for me

 

I'll see if I can't do a bit of digging now that I'm back at Skyrim computer and get back to you.

 

--Until then, my initial recommendation is making sure your "CBBE 3BBB Body Amazing" is using the same preset as your Ropeharness.

This is probably a Form 43 issue. Which is not a problem except maybe in very rare instances. Form 43 refers to the .esp and means that the mod was initially built for LE which is technically a different game. SE/AE is backwards compatible as far as Form 43 goes. Conversions from LE to SE/AE don't always have to touch the .esp, usually they are updating the non-.esp items such as textures, etc. If the mod is just an .esp and scripts, then many LE mods can be used in SE/AE out of the box. I'm on SE 1.6.1130 and have over a dozen so-called 'incompatible' mods due to Form 43. I don't think it's a bad thing to have the warning, more info is better imho, as long as you understand the scope.

Now, a Morrowind mod in Skyrim would be a true incompatibility 🙃

I made sure that I had the latest version of Mfg Fix NG and still had an issue

Something is "fixing" the facial animation. If you go into inventory and try to unequip an equipped gag, when you exit the correct facial expression is applied. Then something else steps in and resets the facial expression.

Something is "fixing" the facial animation. If you go into inventory and try to unequip an equipped gag, when you exit the correct facial expression is applied. Then something else steps in and resets the facial expression. 

 

Great call jbezorg, I had Expressive Facial Animation in my load order which must've been resetting the expressions. Disabling that allows them to work as intended.

for anyone that answers this assume i'm an idiot and have never ever modded anything in my entire life

 

How do i actually install this?

 

(asking because despite following the instructions on the description and also having modded skyrim for close to 8 years now.. i still can't seem to get this to work so i must be doing something wrong lol)

I appreciate the response, but this doesn't help me identify or resolve the issue. The facial expressions work fine outside of SL animations, it's only during SL animations does the mouth close and act like there is no longer a gag present. Is there a setting somewhere I need to adjust or an additional mod for gagged expressions?

I've gone through several mods like SexLab - Smooth expressions plus 3.0.2 with no luck. Now I wonder if it's something continuously adjusting nodes on the skeleton, like the neck, causing the face to reset.

I have a question, I am supposed to have base DD, but when installing it my version of the game does not appear (1.6.1130). What option should I set before installing devious devices NG? (written with translator)

If you need help using the modding tools, go to the technical support section or google how to use the tool.

 

make sure you have the requirements for DD and DD NG installed. DD's most up to date requirements are in the fomod when you install.
but for the consoleutils requirement, use the NG version.
 

install DD 5.2 SE/AE/VR

delete the devious devices patch that DD 5.2 installs

install DD NG and overwrite DD 5.2

run bodyslide and build everything that says 'devious devices'

run fnis or nemesis or pandora

It doesn't matter, pick any of them. None of the ones in the fomod work with 1130 or 1170.

DD NG will overwrite the DLL with the one that supports 1130 and 1170 when you install it.

Hello, I'm having an issue were the game loads correctly but I cannot equip any devices, They show up in my inventory but I can click on them without any dialogue appearing, as if they were common items, they do not show on the character or alter the animations either.  Has anyone had a similar issue ?

Can I get a bit of clarification on installation please?

 

I'm installing DDNG on SE 1.5.97 on a profile that had never had DDNG before. This is not updating, this is a new install. The overwrite order is clear, but in patch notes it says to disable original DD SE plugin. Since it's not part of the original installation instruction am I unsure if this step is necessary in this case. Please clarify.

It is. DDNG contains edited versions of the main DD master files, so the SE plugin is unnecessary, its changes are part of the main file.

Thank you. Since I can see now this question has been asked in this thread many times, please consider amending installation instruction, to avoid any uncertainty and cut down on unnecessary dumb questions like mine. Especially since patch notes are only visible on download page and not forum thread, and I know from experience, most people don't bother reading patch notes at all.

Hi i have problems with DD NG and i have been searching for a fix for a while now

all restraints dont work (armbinder, cuffs, hobble dress, ect..) when i put them on the item is visible but either some of my body parts become invisible or they simply dont work and i can use my hands normaly.

 

i will put down some screen shots and my load order in hope somebody can help with this issue thanks

Did you ever find out what was going on? I just started a new game, SSE 1.6.1130, upgraded to DD NG 0.3.7 and am also getting messages about installing MFG Fix and Racemenu (not being able to find the mfgfix.dll or the skee64.dll). The mods are there MFG Fix, MFG Fix NG, and RaceMenu v. 4.19.15. I can use Racemenu ingame.

I have a similar issue as ferminnigro but only with armbinders. Specifically, its the strong ebonite armbinder thats broken. It's just flat-out invisible even though my character is performing the animation of holding her hands behind her back and whatnot. It gives me shadow hands.

Ive tried searching SSE Edit as suggested earlier in this thread, but I wasnt able to find anything to fix.


I dont know much about troubleshooting, but the item ID is 2404fc6d, if that gives anyone any ideas on what I should do next since I'm out of them.

Update: Strong Ebonite Binder is a Laura's Shop addon that points to ArmbEbonite_go.nif from Devious Expansion. Which I would guess is connected to ArmbEbonite_1.nif and zadx_EboniteArmbinderAA, but I don't see any special alternate textures or anything on it. I've confirmed that the nif file exists in the folder it should and it appears to be named correctly.

 

Update 2: I tested a leather armbinder and had the same issue as the ebony armbinder. They all make my hands disappear and their models don't show up. it doesn't appear to just be armbinders from Laura's either, as the red leather armbinder (new) is also broken. Race is Nord.

 

Update 3: I tried setting the experimental HideHands feature in the ini to true since it was advised for another user for a problem that seemed like it might be related. No Dice.

 

Update 4: The black steel fetters also cause my lower legs to vanish.

Having the same issue as a couple users above, none of the DD animations seem to be playing for me. Armbinders just make my hands invisible, yoke doesn't make my character have arms up, and gags don't make the mouth open. Devices show up but animations just don't work.

 

EDIT: FYI using Pandora and not FNIS or Nemesis

Hi,

 

I'm trying to test DD NG on Skyrim VR, but I have a problem with furniture animations. Nothing happens when I activate furniture items in DDCTestZone, and I don't see any error messages. FNIS ran successfully, and using NEMESIS doesn't change the behaviour.

Multiple people in this thread already reported it, but I haven't found a fix, When using DD NG with Sexlab Utility Plus, MCM of SexLab menu either won't appear or would appear empty (if used with Menu Maid). Disabling/removing DD NG fixes it. Any idea how to make them compatible?

Did you ask over in their thread? OsmelMC is active and should know how his mod handles things. What I read, it's an LO issue.

That happened to a couple of people on our discord - one person had some leftover files in the Skyrim folder that would mess up their FNIS, another person installed a bunch of old DD files that overwrote their DD NG and it wrecked everything & the third one was on Linux and there was some... incompatibility that they've fixed by switching Proton versions.

 

Don't know which one might apply in your case 🙂

What is DD5.2 - Native remove doing there? 🙂 I can't see your load order, since your installed mods are listed A-Z, but if that file loads on top of NG, this would be the cause of your errors - plus, there's a non-zero chance your whole DD NG will crash and burn 😄

I'm using Linux indeed, which suggests I may have the same problem as the person you mentioned. I'll try switching my Proton version and see how it goes. Thanks much for the help!
