I noticed that there is an ai package that gets applied to followers when they have DD on them. Is there a way to disable that and have them use normal ai or would it break stuff?

any idea why the bodyslides for 3ba dont seem to work well with racemenu/obody?  I can load in wearing an outfit and it works, but if i change my body with either it clips like crazy for most sliders.

 

Ive built all the morphs and for example TAWOBA works fine with both.

Invisible Gag issue

I'm having trouble shooting down the problem, where some gag types are invisible and aren't loading associated textures

For example, Panel Gag works fine as expected

However Ring Gag is invisible despite correct armor addon being loaded and same textures being referred to in both the files

Found the problem, the UUNP install of the shapedata for DD 5.2.7 has the armbinder / ebonite armbinder files either misnamed or in the wrong folder.  I did both as well as copying over from the 3ba version of the zip, so I don't really know what did the trick.

 

Point is, its working now for me. Thanks for the help.

Don't double post. It looks like your race is missing from the addon when beast race support was merged into DD NG.

However, I can't tell what race you're supposed to be from the screenshot. 

To fix it in the short term, just copy the armor into DDx or create a patch ESP, and then add these other AAs to "Gag (Simple) (Ring)" / 0x0140EC. It will be a similar issue for any other invisible gags you come across. If you have a list, please post it here so those other gags can be updated too.

@krzp  They're having an issue with this device:
 \ [04] Devious Devices - Assets.esm \ [3] GRUP Top "ARMO" \ [48] zad_gagStrapRing "Gag (Simple) (Ring)" [ARMO:040140EC] 

 

That gag should be updated to match the AAs here:
 \ [07] Devious Devices - Expansion.esm \ [7] GRUP Top "ARMO" \ [15] zad_gagStrapRing_scriptInstance [ARMO:04016154] \ [0] Record Header

 

And since DDx can't be a master for DDa, you'll probably need to copy it into DDx to update it.

For obody, you need to build the zeroed sliders preset. I haven't heard of any similar issues in the masterstroke list that also uses obody, so it's likely you built the wrong preset and changing your body ends up adding the new morphs ontop of old morphs, making things not fit right.

Hi i'm having trouble getting the dll to work, im having the error where it says that the DeviousDevices.dll failed to load in. I downloaded the NG, installed all the requirement mods and everything but its still not working. Is there something else that I'm missing?

heres the actual error message when i try to run it too, my skyrim version is 1.6.1170.0.
Im also getting a similar error with OSL Aroused, i checked SKSE and Address Library for SKSE Plugins for updates but i haven't seen anything. Was there a patch somewhere in the forums for this?

No patch or anything. I just installed DD NG and OSL Aroused last week on a brand new game and it works fine out of the box.

Timestamp on DeviousDevices.dll is 26-07-2024 and on OSLAroused.dll 16-01-2024

If you have the same, recheck your prerequisites. If you have different files, recheck your LO and overwrites.

I'm able to use DD NG 2.7 with TBD bodyslide files for Devices.

 

Not sure about version 3.7

Hello I am running into an issue where whenever I am wearing a straightjacket, there are transparent/shadowy hands behind my back and I have no clue what is causing this issue. Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this?

I messed around with the load order and reinstalled the required mods and still nothing, I'm thinking it might be a problem with installation? Is there a way to manual install DD NG on MO2? Also when I try to run DD NG without OSL on i get this error instead, idk if this helps any to solve my problem.

Why are you using version 0.2, that came out before 1170 was a thing?

Can't tell from here, only generic advice: Install one mod at a time. Deploy, start the game, check if the mod is doing what it should - if not, recheck the requirements.

I am an experienced mod user - it took me about 20 houre real time to set up the game from new to using DD NG. because AE is quite different from LE and needs a lot of mods I've never heard of. And then every mod needs another four, until it boils down to SKSE and AddressLibrary...

But I think your problem should be addressed in its own thread in the SE help section. DD NG seems not to be the culprit, it's only the indicator that something else is wrong.

Yeah, that bugged me too. It looks like some shader applies their frolic to hands inside an armbinder, but with the arms missing.

(there are no arms in DD's straightjacket, so that's wanted - but what about the hands...?)

That's a known issue with 'vanilla' DD ( :D ) . DD NG has an option in the ini to hide the arm nodes, try that. 
What you're seeing is some racemenu overlay like dirt or your hand tats. racemenu doesn't hide them when the game hides the hands. 

 

Should be the option starting here (false is default, set to true):

# EXPERIMENTAL: If nodes should be hidden when armor with listed keyword is equipped

# Note: This might create incompatibility with Improved Camera, as that mod also hides these nodes

Oh, thank you! Tried this right away, and it gets better, but still leaves a smaller shadow. Looking at the ini file, I came across the mittens hiding the fingers - so when I put on mittens beneath the straightjacket, those pesky shadows vanish! 👍

Thanks for the help! That helped remove some of the shadow.

Can you please clarify what exactly you did in the ini file? I would love this fix this issue that's been bugging me for a while haha.

I just did what @zarantha suggested and set bHideArms = true

Now if you put on the straijacket, the shadow is much smaller, but still visible. The next step was to put on bondage mittens in-game, which so have a "hide fingers" optin in the ini file, but you don't need to change that.

I guess if you'd want a simple shadowless experience, you'd need to edit the nif, and add an additional finger hider (there must be an arm hider already) but that's beyond what I'm willing to do atm.

I think what you could do is in outfit studio, add the hands in, move them so they're in the body or in the right place in the straitjacket (not the easiest thing to do) and then shrink the hands so they're tiny and less likely to be seen when struggling. It's a lot of finicky work (at least for me) which is one reason why I didn't do it. I had enough trouble posing the arms so i could properly conform the straitjacket, and adding the hands only puts them in their normal A pose position, not at the end of the arms i posed.

 

The shadow is extremely hard to see unless you have some vibrant hand tats, or are looking for it, so for most users it's not noticeable as is.

Hi everyone. I've been out of the loop for Skyrim's modding since 2021 and I've got a question. Since Kimy is been gone for 3+ years now effectively canning DD, is DD NG supposed to be the new and improved DD or is just building on top of DD 5.2 and would still require a hard downgrade from skyrim in order for it to be playable?

Not sure if I understand the question. DD NG is new, improved and building on top of DD 5.2 - and the version you need if you're on AE.

OOOOOOH I was under the impression that it was a complete new project or that is was working off of the outdated DD and still adhered to DD outdated requirements.

 

So this should work with the latest version of the skyrim. Just follow the instructions like any mod.

Anyone else having issues with the gags not opening the mouth? Running SSE 1170 and the latest version of DD NG with all dependencies. I have mfg fix and mfg fix NG and tried different combinations of versions as well as disabling one or both with no luck. Mouth just stays closed. Any ideas?
