xheren Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 IF you have the computer for it -->reccomend Win8.1, understand it's different from win7, but it is currently being supported by microsoft, it has much easier install (auto-detects and installs most drivers... even managaed to cover all the drivers on my g750jh), has decent legacy support, runs skyrim just fine, and is just generally better optimized than win7. Biggest pro in my opinion is integration of .net framework and direct-x into the OS. Just a thought if windows 7 is giving you trouble~
Mud Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Bad idea. 8.1 causes issues with a lot of games for many people, Skyrim included.
Daycrist Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I always said chibi anime chars are dangerous.....this proves it lol
PsychoMachina Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 I doubt the problem is directly related to the OS, unless the cause is the result of a borked Windows update which happened to me before. I make it a practice to reinstall the OS once a year to clear out any junk and broken apps and files and unstable updates. However, it's been 2 years since I did a reinstall. I removed a lot of apps and junk files, made back-ups of my important files, updated everything else and defragged the drive. So far, so good. I'll give it another day or two before I resume on any updates. @Daycrist Interesting you should mention chibi characters as I was thinking about making chibi Elin followers.
Daycrist Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 They already seem like chibi's seeing as compared to their regular sized counterparts they seem petite and small I really would love that violin and music mod though if it is seperate
PsychoMachina Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 Merida Hair Conversion Requires the original Merida Hair by Yoo (link in OP). ElinRace_Merida Hair only includes the race morphs, plugin, and HDT Physics Extension v14.28. Long Option Short Option IMPORTANT If you installed the TBBP Elin bodies, make sure to move the ElinRace_MeridaHair.esp AFTER the custom Elin body plugin. The custom TBBP Elin body options uses an older HDT Physics Extension.
GreatKazooMan Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Are we ever going to get proper Tera Elin body armours converted for Skyrim? Why would someone go to the trouble of making the armours into UNP or CBBE when the shape and things are already perfect for the standard Tera body? I think I have seen armours other than what you offered here (converted vanilla armors) for the proper Elin body, but I haven't been able to track them down. I'd rather have them than the others, as I want to play with the Tera Elin, not a facsimile of them. Either way, you've done a great job! Just a little disappointed we never get exactly what we'd like -- no entitlement issues, I swear!
PsychoMachina Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 UPDATE - Elin-Merida Hairs FIXED Removed the gaps between the hairs and the Elin's head; the hairs are now form-fitting. The update includes new head morphs needed for the Merida hairs. Keep the ElinRace_MeridaHair.esp AFTER the other Elin plugins (lower than the other Elin plugins in the load order). The different head morphs are only needed for Merida's hair and can affect the other Elin hairs and Elin NPC hairs.
Mud Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I'm really liking that Lakeview Extended Elin replacer from the other thread. Perfect way to add more Elin presence in the game without being too intrusive. Even gave them all outfits from the Fox Shop to wear. If only I could do more with the actual base mod, that prison the author made is pretty useless with one completely non-functioning jail cell and two already-occupied dinky cages.
PsychoMachina Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 I just noticed the Merida hair update now causes the "named" Elin npcs to have dark heads even though the Elin-Merida hair plugin is last in my load order. The different head morphs seems to affect the other Elins, regardless. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, I'll have to create all new facetints for the npcs.
Smokermegadrive Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Im almost to give up with this, while i was able to fix fox 24a and fox32b i can't figure what to do with fox 24bthe mesh always cause my game to crash and i don't know why, anyone can take a look and tell me what im doing wrong? Also when i finish with this i will add the fox 34 set cuirassb_0.7z
PsychoMachina Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 I'm guessing it crashes even when you are using one of the bodies that are included with the fox24 armors.
Smokermegadrive Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 that's right i tried with cbbe and that body i think that body is also the cbbe one, that armor set has the mesh body separated from both parts in a folder called foxbodymaybe i can try with unp
PsychoMachina Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 Sounds like this is a job for Outfit Studio. I made all new CBBE and UNP bodies, I can use OS to convert the fox armors to those bodies. I tried doing some conversions for the Tera body, but trying to make a base body so far results in a mess. If you want to try out Outfit Studio, I can send you the Elin body files with the exception of the Tera bodies, I'll take care of that.
mlhagge76 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Love the new head morph, doesn't make these hoods clip anymore.
mlhagge76 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I just noticed the Merida hair update now causes the "named" Elin npcs to have dark heads even though the Elin-Merida hair plugin is last in my load order. The different head morphs seems to affect the other Elins, regardless. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, I'll have to create all new facetints for the npcs. I ran into this problem too.
Lunaus Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Just wanna point out that TERA wasn't created by En Masse Entertainment, they're just a sister company/publisher of the actual Developer which is Bluehole Studios (BHS).
PsychoMachina Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 I resumed work on Elin 1.5 and will use the alt head morphs, provided I don't come across any new problems associated with them. The one thing I didn't test are the Oblivian hairs pack, but if the alt morphs work wonders with those hairs then they will be included with the update. I just noticed the Merida hair update now causes the "named" Elin npcs to have dark heads even though the Elin-Merida hair plugin is last in my load order. The different head morphs seems to affect the other Elins, regardless. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, I'll have to create all new facetints for the npcs. I ran into this problem too. I'll add the new facetints with the 1.5 update. For now, you can either continue using Merida's hair or discontinue using it and wait until the update. Just wanna point out that TERA wasn't created by En Masse Entertainment, they're just a sister company/publisher of the actual Developer which is Bluehole Studios (BHS). Thanks, I edited the Credits.
Mud Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 What in bloody blazes... so I had the idea to change all the female children to Elin using the same ESP as the Elin orphans ESP, but I'm running into an oddity where some of them seem to spawn in with different weight settings than what they have in the CK. Even if they have 0 weight there, some of them, such as Fjotra or Svari, show up with higher weight and thus have neck seams. Britte spawns in with slightly higher weight than her assigned default 50, using setnpcweight 50 on her removes the seam. Minette Vinius shows up with the correct 0 weight setting. I can't figure out what's happening. This seam business is most irksome, it seems to always rear its ugly head wherever it smells an opportunity...
PsychoMachina Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 I have been quiet lately so I thought I would give an update. I'm working on Elin 2 and bringing them out of beta. The second pic shows the results of Groovtama's ECE tail sliders. I'm doing some final edits to the merged hair packs and so far there are a total of 381 hairs and that's not counting the Tera Elin hairs. I may give the Ahri Elin new tails, also redo Groovtama's skeletons and see about adding new bodies and textures or at least new textures. I'm entertaining the idea of making some changes to the Elin summon ring and change them to chibi Elins and adding a Reaper Elin. Anything else? Don't know right now.
xheren Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Hey, If you haven't already, please fix that issue with the tails and ears not matching up, it's pretty akward when an elin's sporting fox ears and a bunny tail, or vice versa. Aside from that, I'm eagerly awaiting the update so I can work on all those elin npc expanders ^^. Thanks for all your hard work.
PsychoMachina Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 UPDATE - ElinRaceTaint.esm (from Main Pack) Fixes the (1) fox hair/ears option having the bunny tails (from the HAIRS slider). Fixes the Ram hair option missing a tail (from the HAIRS slider). This only replaces the ElinRaceTaint master file from the main package. The ElinRaceTaint master file from the Elin NPC and Enemy mod does not have the mismatched ears and tails, but the Ram hairs are missing the tails. I will fix that and release it with the next major update. In the meantime, if you want your Ram Elin to have a tail then use the Ram Elin option from the "FACIAL HAIRS" slider.
PsychoMachina Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 (Sorry my english) (Sorry to evade the issue about your mod) was watching a video of mod and he not only used the Elin race but also wore a very interesting voice, I researched and found that it is the voice of Tainaka Ritsu from K-on, does anyone know where I can find a link to download it ? PS: I think que voice blends with the appearance of Elinu Hello KuroTamashii. I do not have the Ritsu voice files. I did a quick search and did not find it at any other site. If the voice mod was made by K-Gorilla then It might not be publicly available. I could be wrong and maybe somebody who has the Ritsu voice mod is willing to share it.
neko_chan Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Will the mod eventually have an adult looking version? I want an anime race, but they are few and far between. Sadly, all the anime race mods I find look like children. I hate children in my game.
PsychoMachina Posted April 17, 2014 Author Posted April 17, 2014 far as I know, that voice was not created by Gorilla K. but either way thank you and sorry for the pointless post There is nothing pointless about looking for a particular mod so no need to apologize. Will the mod eventually have an adult looking version? I want an anime race, but they are few and far between. Sadly, all the anime race mods I find look like children. I hate children in my game. Elin 2 will allow you to make anime-ish faces that look less child-like. All that is left is to change the race scale to teen or adult. However, keep in mind that I'm not going to deviate too far from the original look of the Elins as depicted from the Tera Online game.
