{UPDATE - Elin Voice v2.1 with Throw Voice Replacer Options} Tera Elin Race

Did you copy the Elin files to Yousei's folder?  Then you will need to change the texture paths in the head and body meshes.

If you already edited the texture sets to use the Elin body and head textures, did you assign those texture to Yousei in the Race form?

For the HDPT, I just changed it to point to the head nif and tri files in the 2chelin fix folder. The Yousei follower doesn't come with its own head mesh, instead simply using the vanilla directories for the Nord head, (although it comes with its own head texture, which I tried replacing to no effect). I tried loading the fairy with the Elin esm as a dependency so I could add the SkinHeadFemaleElin1 face details texture set to the Yousei race, but that didn't appear to change anything on the face. I'm not sure what else there is for me to edit in here.

Oop. I found it. The culprit was the skintone.dds file included with the Yousei. I changed the race to point to the same skintone file the Elin race does, and that fixed it. That and some of my miscellaneous other changes that may or may not have actually done anything, I can't be sure.

And here we have my current form of the Yousei Follower:

VM94HRg.jpg

Her neck might be a mite too short. I wonder what I can do about that?

If only there was a big ol' hair bow mod I could use. I can't call her truly Cirno until she has a big ol' hair ribbon.

Incidentally, the fairy has the female child voice set, preventing you from actually using her as a follower unless you change it. That is, normally. With EFF's Mind Control spell that turns any NPC into a follower, she works without a hitch!

You, sir, are an absolute genius. The neck isn't too short. Rather, it's too wide, either as a result of the shoulders being too small or the head being too big. There is an ECE slider for that, I think? Fix that and you'll fix everything.

...alternatively cover it up with a scarf. My (n00b) approach to fixing everything that looks awkward on my Elins. :P

Oh, and nice work with the Elins so far, PsychoMachina. I'm still using 1.3 for some reason. Probably because I'm quite happy with it as is.

Yeah, I know the neck was too wide, I was messing with her head scale to get something that looked right. But it was definitely too short before - it looks alright in the screenshot because she's looking upward, but she had almost no neck when facing forward.

Did some testing with the skeletons from Elin 1.4 (based on xpms v1.91), xpms v1.93a, and Groovtama's Extended skeletons which use xpms v1.93a.  The problems with certain animations only happen to my pc and not the npcs from what I observed.

I have noticed animation glitches with using bows and certain magic casting such as Healing and Bound Sword.  What happens is that when using the bow, the bow draw animation does not complete before releasing the arrow.  The animation begins and abruptly stops causing the arrow to fall short and at times the glitched animation will repeat consecutively without regards to my pressing the mouse button or releasing it.

The magic casting animations would not complete as if I suddenly release the mouse button to prevent the casting from completion.  Holding down the mouse button has no affect in making the casting complete the animation; it would still abruptly stop.

Results with the different xpms skeletons:

  1. Elin v1.4 skeletons (xpms v1.91) shows no bow and magic casting animation glitches.
  2. Xpms v1.93a shows the animation glitches, but infrequently.
  3. Groovtama's Extended based on xpms v1.93a shows the animation glitches, but frequently.  The frequency might actually be the same as xpms 1.93a, but to me it appears to happen more frequently.
  4. Results #2 and #3 has the greatest chance of happen during fight scenes (annoying as hell) and only with my pc, but there were rare moments of the bow anim glitch happening when not fighting.

I'm going to do another round of test using a non-Elin character and see if the glitches are not somehow related to the Elins.

UPDATE

I fixed the animation glitches using the "Gender Specific Animations" and "Skeleton Arm Fix" patches when running FNIS.  It's not perfect as I still see remnants of the glitch during heavy fighting, but it's better than the way it was before.  Previously, I ran FNIS without the patches and it didn't have any effects so those patches provided some help.

That was a skeleton problem? All this time I thought it was just my controller input spazzing out. I'm still using the old Elin body/skeleton setup, except with the XPMS skeleton I applied the Elin scale changes to myself, and it was happening then.

Posted

I was told those glitches happens even with a vanilla game, but I never experienced any until I updated to Groovtama's Extended skeletons.  I'm thinking it's because xpms 1.93a added new bones.  FNIS provided those patches for custom skeletons with extra bones.  Though I'm wondering why those glitches are not common when using xpms 1.93a.

When I installed the skeletons from Elin v1.4 (based on xpms v1.91), the problem did not reappear so the only conclusion I reached was the new bones added to v1.93a.  If it was controller input then I would have experienced it before and downgrading to an earlier skeleton would not make any difference.

Strange, but at least I now have some idea as to the cause.

@Mud.

I just got a gaming mouse and when testing it in my game, the bow animation and magic casting were vastly improved.  Tried with and without the FNIS patches and saw no difference so the problem is better than likely hardware related, i.e., my old mouse.  I would still use the patches since FNIS shows errors because xpms 1.93a has additional bones.

well i have to scratch the adaptation of the fox 24 armors to the elin body because the textures for the boobs are lighter than the rest of the clothes and looks weird i don't know how to fix that, but i try to fix with the default body anyways

hello psycho. Uhmm im new to this so i was wondering, when i ask the elin bard to play the animation keeps going, except i do not know if the song plays along with the animation, or wa it intended to just play a loop of only the animation? Basically the song shown in the video wont play. Please help me clear this up n-n'

The animation is suppose to loop.  You need to speak with her again to get the dialogue option to make her stop playing.  As for the music not playing that is a bug.

Which did you install?  Non-FNIS version?  FNIS version?

Did you try reinstalling the files over what you already have installed?  In other words, do not remove the Elin Bard, just reinstall and overwrite.

Since FNIS has been updated since Elin Bard 2.1 was released, I'll do some testing and upload any new files.

The author, RSV, sent me an update to the Bard installer and I have been helping him with the testing.  If and when all finally works out, Elin Bard 2.2 will be released.

Until I get word from RSV to go ahead and officially release Elin Bard v2.2, I'm going to release it for testing purposes.

FIXES

RSV fixed a potential bug with the installer I use to create the animation/behavior files for the Elin Bard.

Elin Bard v2.2 - BETA

ElinBard_v2.2-BETA.7z

REQUIREMENTS

Elin Race v1.4

INSTALLATION - Non-FNIS (only if you are playing Skyrim without the need for FNIS and do not have mods that require FNIS)

  1. Install Elin Bard v2.2.
  2. Done.

INSTALLATION - FINIS

  1. Run FNIS Generator for Users.
  2. Install Elin Bard v2.2 and overwrite "defaultmale.hkx" and "defaultfemale.hkx" created by FNIS.
  3. Done.

If installing or removing any mods that require running FNIS Generator for Users, reinstall Elin Bard v2.2.

If the Bard gets the T-pose...

- run FNIS Generator for Users then reinstall the Elin Bard.

If the Bard equips the bow and violin, but the animations and music does not play...

- reinstall the Elin Bard.

If you speak with her for the first time and you do not get a dialogue option...

- create a new save then reload the game from the new save.  This is a game bug.

I've heard from RSV and he is allowing me to officially release Elin Bard v2.2, but I would like any bug-reports first.  I'll officially release the update when I release Elin v1.5 so in the meantime, if anyone is having problems with the Elin Bard update, let me know.

If anyone else gets the idea to use the Yousei Follower, it uses its own follower dialogue to follow the player, but flips its shit when I dismount a horse. She tries to fixate on the point where I dismounted, failing to follow me any further and sometimes glitching across the field as it tries to figure out where the heck I am. Best to just use a follower mod function like EFF's mind control that can just override it.

If you want to use CBBE or UNP textures then you need to install the CBBE or UNP Elin bodies.  Tera body is neither CBBE nor UNP.

The Fox armors are CBBE with the exception of the latest, Fox 34, which is UNP.

Hi. I have a problem. It's been about 5 months since i last time played skyrim, so i needed to update my Elin race mods.
After updating all Elin mods my Elins went silent. I have tried other voice packs and uninstalling other mods and only install Elin mods,
but still not working. Everything else works fine. I really love this mod, but i don't want to play without Elin voices. D:

I installed all mods from here: http://www.loverslab.com/files/download/301-beta-elin-bard-v21-tera-elin-race/

Sorry, english is not my native language.

Offtopic: yay, my first post.

Hello Shokuran.

The main pack you downloaded from this thread is the latest (v1.4c) even though NMM says it's v1.3c.  The problem is I forgot to update the Info.xml that tells NMM what file you installed and it's version.  I'll make sure I fix that with the next update (v1.5).

I have posted a voice pack in the OP that was provided by KuriYokan.  It's complete though it does not contain shouts from the DLCs.

Here is the link to his post.

I was never able to get the voice esps working either, so what I did was simply replace the default female player voice files. The side effect is that a portion of human female NPCs will now sound more higher pitched (and in my case let out a random "Nani?!" when dying) but I don't mind that as much.

I wish there was a pack that voiced all of the shouts, though. I love that my voice of choice has the vanilla shouts fully voiced but all the other shouts being silent is disappointing.

The Elin voice pack works for me and I had a look with TES5edit and CK.  The voice pack is assigned to the FemaleElin voice type so it should work with the Elins and only them.

I can only suggest checking your other mods to see if one or more are somehow affecting the Elins from using the voices.  That would mean deactivating the non-Elin mods and activating them one by one.  It would be easier if you first check any mods that directly affect the playable character or playable races; mods such as texture and environment improvements would have no affect on your playable character so they can be omitted from the list of possible conflicting mods.

The CBBE and UNP body files do not overwrite the Tera body files; they use a different folders.

The non-nude Tera body is automatically installed when you install the core files from the main pack.  There is an option to install the non-nude Tera body, but that is only needed if you install the nude option and later change your mind, though, this method is really only useful if doing manual installations.

The CBBE and UNP Elin bodies comes with their own plugins.  It's these plugins that makes the Elins use the custom bodies.

  • CBBE uses "ElinRace - Use Monli custom BBP Body.esp".
  • UNP uses "ElinRace - Use UNP BBP Body.esp".

If you installed either the CBBE or UNP Elin body and you still see the Tera body then you need to check your load order and look for the plugin (for the body option you installed) I listed.  Make sure they are activated and moved to the bottom of all Elin plugins.  You might need to adjust the load order of the CBBE or UNP Elin plugins in case another mod is overriding it.

Another cause of the wrong Elin body appearing is if you choose to install the nude Tera body when installing the main files.  This option also uses it's own plugin, "Elin New Body.esp".

If you installed this option and the CBBE or UNP Elin body, you will have two plugins that basically serve the same purpose.  If this is true and you want to use the CBBE or UNP body, check your load order and deactivate "Elin New Body.esp" or override it by moving it above the other body plugin.

I'm having one hell of a time with Win7 and it looks like I'll have to reinstall the OS and start over.  If that isn't bad enough, I can't find my hard copy (disk) of Skyrim.

Also I just happened to come across a request to make Vilja an Elin.  I can't guarantee anything for quite some time, but when I get my pc back in shape and finish the Elin updates, I'll see what can be done about Vilja.
