I installed it and it works fine, it's a bit of a pain having to set it up with the txt file and all, but, after fully disabling the vanilla autosaving and using only this for a whole playthrough, I did not get a single crash... For now. So, it does seem to be better. The game still freezes up when this mod does the manual or autosaving, but it seems to last way shorter. Of course, presumably, if I get in a location with issues it'll definitely crash there, but it's definitely more stable than vanilla saving, which is an improvement. Side comment though, do not turn on bypass mode to turn on the mod, at least without a txt file anyways, I originally tried that and well, let's just say it crashed in less than 15 minutes, and the crashlog mentioned SKSE file IO issues, and the skse/mod log + console window while in game was filled with "Trying to open charname.txt -- file not found" every 5 seconds. No wonder it crashed in no time. Haven't gotten to over 400 saves yet though, so I can't comment on whether it stays stable even then, but it's definitely better than Vanilla. The freezing during a save is normal for a heavily modded game, it's due to the engine and how the saves work. You'll notice there's no freezing when you start a character, but the longer the playthrough and the more stuff and quest you complete - the more noticable it becomes. Tis has always been an issue in TES games. Oblivion did the same. I never played morrowind - but I'd guess it is an issue there too.

Tis has always been an issue in TES games. Oblivion did the same. I never played morrowind - but I'd guess it is an issue there too. It's been a while since I tried playing Morrowind, also never got very far past the starting location though. I highly doubt the modding scene for it is anywhere near Oblivion's level though, let alone Skyrim's. Plus the character creation is absolute garbage in that game, iirc, you pick a race, sex, and then have like the choice between 2-5 heads depending on the aforementioned choices. That's putting aside the painful RNG combat, inspired by TTRPGs, unfortunately, it's a 3D action RPG so the RNG "you attacked X" "X dodged/you missed" when you clearly see the attack hit and have sound effects like it properly hit has always bothered me greatly. I can accept that lore-wise perhaps some enemies are immune to certain weapon types and weaker to others, but trying to play vanilla Morrowind is so difficult due to all these little issues, which is unfortunate because I'm fairly certain it's a really good game, and if I grew up with it instead of Oblivion, I would probably love Morrowind more than Oblivion or Skyrim. Still, I think there's a mod fixing the horrible combat, but there isn't a mod fixing the horrible character creation and character customization, as opposed to say, Oblivion. And yet, they technically all run on the same engine... Well, technically speaking you can get Morrowind to run on the OpenMW engine now, I think, which is cool, but I haven't looked at it much nor looked at where the mod support for it is, nor the modding community for it is. OpenMW as an open source engine to play Morrowind on should theoretically allow the modding scene much greater freedom to improve the game, it's graphics, and so on. But like I said, idk how much of a modding scene Morrowind has, but it's definitely not anywhere close to big. You can still find active Oblivion, Skyrim LE/SE, Fallout 3/NV/4 and possibly Starfield modders, but I haven't heard much of Morrowind modders. I think there's some Daggerfall modders though, mostly thanks to Daggerfall Unity, also a cool thing I'd like to look into playing cause I heard it's really good, much better than Morrowind in some ways, worse in others, but even with the switch to the Unity engine, it's still really dated, and despite the ease of modding it, my last attempt wasn't pleasant. Reminds me of The Wayward Realms, which is a newish project lead by some of the people behind the original Arena and Daggerfall, and mayhaps some of Morrowind. I don't know how moddable it'll be or if it'll even land properly though. I'm still hopeful for it but we'll see. Anyways, we should get back to the topic of this modlist though.
Simpossible_xx Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 (edited) Some animations from the category Gameplay - Animations have either DAR or OAR in brackets and most of those DAR downloads are older then OAR. Should I use the certain version of the animations or the latest one? What happened if I install the wrong version, hypothetically speaking? Edited September 1, 2024 by Simpossible_xx

Open Animation Replacer (OAR) is compatible with DAR animations, you need not worry about it. 2
mlss31 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 (edited) Hi sorry I have one more question. I seem to be having a problem with the physics going weird with draugr corpses stretching during their death animation. If I go and pick them up and kind of swing them around their limbs and stuff slowly go back to normal. I haven't run into the models stretching or looking weird during death for anything else. I tried disabling the draugr mods suggested in the modlist and it still happens. I re-ran pandora too. I'm not sure any of those things would help though, I'm kind of grasping at straws. Edit: It seems to only happen in Bleak Falls Barrow. If I spawn a draugr outside the physics work fine, it only goes wonky inside Bleak Falls. The big frost spider in there also dies immediately from fall damage when coming down. Edit 2: Solution for the draugr is there's something bugged with Pandora 2.3. Replace the draugr files generated by Pandora 2.3 with ones generated by Pandora 2.1.5 and everything seems to work. Spoiler Spoiler Edited September 2, 2024 by mlss31 1
Bigglsby Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 7 hours ago, mlss31 said: The big frost spider in there also dies immediately from fall damage when coming down. The spider dying from falling is due to a mod in your load order overwriting MNC. MNC gives a perk to all frost spiders of "soft fall" or something like that - so they don't take falling damage. If you have another mod editing frost spiders AFTER MNC, you'll want to patch that perk back into play. 1
_Warhawk_ Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 @AylisI know you are currently working on the bodyslide files but since you haven't listed it, what ENB are you using or recommend for the new verison of the guide? I see that Rudy and PI-CHO is still listed but I am not sure if that is still the current recommendation or if you just haven't got around to update that yet.

I'm not Aylis, but I believe those are still the recommended ones. At least, I'm personally running the Rudy one linked from here, and it's working just fine. But, I guess I'll add a little comment, if you don't like either of the options Aylis gives, you can probably use *any* other ENB option if you have any other preference for one, it's just that these are the 2 options Aylis prefers, I think. 1

Correct, @Aylis has always maintained it is wholly your choice as to what enb, armor set, face morphs, etc. These are only suggestions, highly tested suggestions, but still suggestions. An example is the ENB Rudy has been the ENB of choice for at least 3 years. But if you are going for the whole "i can't see shit in the dark" feel than rudy isn't what you want.
PRSTUV Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 Very helpful, thank you! Can I remove downloaded mods from the download folder after I install them?

Aylis Posted September 2, 2024 Author Posted September 2, 2024 (edited) @mlss31 Just checked Bleak Falls. Nothing wrong with the Draugr there and the guide got the same mods i use here. So thats not the cause of it... From the pics it looks more like a physics issue and you should recheck that first. Mesh problems usually look different. _________________________________________________ ENB I tried several newer ENB and i'm back to Rudy again. So for now i'll stick with it. Yeah, sometimes it's not due to load order, but whether or not the bashed patch tosses it. I've made it a habit of walking through my bashed patch after generation and making sure it holds the things I want it to (like character replacers), and adjust or mix/match as needed. It's a good tool, but depending on how much you've got going on with your load order, it warrants manual tuning.

A lot of guides and people say go run a bash patch and that is it, which is pretty much wrong, no matter how small you mod list is you really want to manually go through a bash patch or other automatically generated patch and check to make sure it is doing what you want, rather than what it thinks you want. Plus this time it looks like I don't need to restart a new game since those are mostly superficial changes, besides infantry armor, but I never actually encountered them on this save so I should be fine. I did get pieces of the Steel Soldier set but that one should revert back to default look without the patch so hopefully no major issues from removing those 4. Also, finally getting rid of most of my own bodyslides except for the ones that are from mods outside of this modlist. 🎉
Kusoneko Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Quick question, does anyone know what could be causing this annoying blurriness? It's kinda like there's motion blur 24/7 even when there's no motion to blue, and while it's not *game breaking* it's mildly annoying. I've had it on every playthrough so far, I'm not quite sure if it's an ENB thing or if there's a specific Skyrim ini setting that just incorrectly tries to blue everything somehow? Screenshot to show what I mean: Spoiler In the screenshot I am completely immobile, and so are all the NPCs around, yet everyone's blurry except perhaps me? Also, I wonder what the black bars at the top and bottom are and if they can be removed; they've also been there every playthrough as well on this modlist, I'm specifically running on 1440p though, if that changes anything, I can get the UI elements to go into the extra screen real estate, as the compass seems to have done all by itself, but since the rest of the game is blacking it out I'm avoiding doing that so far, but it would be nice if I could get the game to not make black bars at the top and bottom all the time? There's probably something obvious I'm missing to fix both of these issues but I can't figure what or how.

I specifically always disable visual effects and only leave one of the 2 audio effects (cause both at once is pretty annoying, but having an indicator of arousal is useful, which means it has to be something else? 2. Thanks, that fixed it. Gonna look into it more tomorrow though, I've got an early day so can't play as much as I'd like.
