Under Patches the Terrain Parallax Blending Fix - Missing Textures, how far below? The next file?

Am I meant to delete all those files and create a new mod with those same files using the virtual folder?

Did we download the parallax and non-parallax versions cause I only downloaded the parallax versions since it said to download the parallax versions.

 

The instructions tell me to find "my favorite landscape mod", find the files somewhere and them reaarrange them into the order.

We only have one set of files and they are all in the place where the mod wants the non-parallax files to be.

 

Do I see it correctly that the instructions concerning the use of the lists are complete ass and I am supposed to move the files on the left to the files on the right?

The mod-author seems to assume everyone has a profound knowledge of how the parallax file system works and how the textures work.

 

And what am I supposed to do with the links you made on the 11th, last wednesday? The frontpage says those are an update.

I have spend the last three weeks trying to get through the guide but the goalpost keeps moving and it's not getting any less confusing about what changes I need to make from where I am without starting all over again.

 

I am confused and my head hurts every time I try to understand the instructions.

Well. Tried to test TNG in work. Something is not good - npc alignment during sex animations is terrible. I need to make some corrections in MCM?

1.  It's in the name 'Terrain Parallax Blending Fix - Missing Textures'.

5.  Only posts with 'Update to ...' are an update. 

    'Collecting Links' are things i'm working on and will change if a mod doesn't work out. Those post are leading to an update (usually at the weekend).

6.  Welcome to modding. Things change over time (first version of the guide had ~350 mods) and you have to read a lot before dipping your toe into it.

Nope, you're looking at the wrong mod. Its the animations that are not aligned, not 'TNG'. It would be the same with 'SoS'...

 

For almost perfect alignment you have to use 'OStim'. But with the constant infighting about that mod it has become very hard to keep up. I gave up on it, constant updates (had to constantly change the guide), vanishing mods, different conflicting versions and updates of the main mod, and lastly OA that actively sabotaged the mods of other OA. Thats a nightmare i won't touch with a ten foot pole.

 

The sad thing is that we once had a perfectly working setup of OStim.

OK, instructions are easy to find. But it would have been useful to mention somewhere that the required tool is already included in SSEEdit. I tried to find a link for the download of a tool i already had installed but didn't know about.

Got it. I'll add the information to the DynDOLOD entry. Thankfully it is way easier than i thought it would be.

I'm coming back to Skyrim after several years, and having installed AE (with only the 4 base CC parts), so I'm following your excellent AE guide and am busily downloading and installing mods. However, I noticed that you're recommending using Sexlab Framework PPLUS, which apparently makes SLAL obsolete and requires a new step of running a program called SLSB to create a registry of animations, and perhaps convert them into a new format? I've tried just to start Skyrim, not intending to play yet, and I get an error message that the P+ registry folder is missing. The P+ forum says that SLSB must be run, but I can't find any instructions on how to run it. Are Billy's (and others)  SLAL animation packs available already converted somewhere? Or are there instructions on how to use the SLSB program to convert them?

OK, looks like i have to redo more for DynDOLOD than expected. Will do a few changes now...

 

Moved DynDOLOD Resources from 'World - LOD' to 'Meshes'. This makes sure that improved meshes are used instead of being overwritten by the ressources.

 

Added the guide for the 'Grass Cache' as step #1.

 

Corrected the number of steps.

 

Updating pics for the generation of terrain. Done

 

Terrain and roads work flawlessly.

 

Updating the pic for billboards.

 

Billboards and grass textures are fine too. 

 

REMOVED the group 'World LOD'. The mods are only for the creation of the LOD and used in the last step before running the game.

 

Listed all required mods for DynDOLOD in post #3.

 

Clarified(?) a few instructions.

 

Added instructions for 'SSEEditQuickAutoClean' to 'Required mods'.

 

Added 'Step 5 - Cleaning files'

 

Found a few mods to remove (i swear this always happens when an update for DynDOLOD drops).

 

Tree's are fine and no pop-ins, but the very distant LOD is a bit off. Rechecking if i did make a mistake somewhere. I think i found it, bad news is (for me) that i have to rerun DynDOLOD again. Not that i lost count after the 300th rerun... 😒

 

Done it! One little mistake and you have to rerun DynDOLOD.

 

Updating the last pics now.

 

Rework of the 'DynDOLOD Guide' is done and the results are beautiful (just check the recommended settings and tips).

 

Now i can concentrate on the planned update.

I presume you are referring to DynDOLOD 3.0 Alpha.

You just need to run SSEEdit QuickAutoClean on the Skyrim master files, and there are a few (not many - 5 or so entries)  that need to be manually removed.

Thank you for all the work you do and that one in particular.

 

I know modding but bethesda games are on an entirely different level. I haven't played Skyrim properly in years.
I only got 77 hours on the Special Edition so I am certain I have spend more time modding than playing. From what I hear that is the usual experience.

Hello i've seen your updated installation order and i'm reinstalling skyrim (again).

 

You removed the season part but this mod that requires Seasons of Skyrim is still there : A Matter of Time - Seasons of Skyrim

 

I was wondering for this mod Wider MCM Menu for SkyUI, you put it after NORDIC UI - Miscellaneous Patches but it should be the contrary i guess or am i wrong?

1. it was not directed at you. The ONLY people who need to make the Steam button work after modding are people who put mods directly into the game folder and do not run skse. Those that do are the dumbasses. Get over yourself. I merely added context to what you posted as to WHY you change the file before locking it.

1. Not quite. It is for seasons in Skyrim, not for seasons of Skyrim. Small but important difference and (in case i did get it wong) it is still working fine.😊

This is all besides the point anyways and we should all return to the actual thing this thread is for: the modlist.

OK, fair enough,  Linux is something I've never worked with so I wouldn't know about that system. Thank you for the insight

Having freed up enough disk space to run the old mod list and the new listg as well, I've comenced on a grand reinstall.

The requirements list Seasons of Skyrim as a requirement, so think its for Seasons of Skyrim. But since its just a swf file (no scripts, esp'l or dll) it should be only a soft dependancy.

 

Speaking of which, Bent Pines for Seasons of Skyrim is also for Seasons of Skyrim (again, probably just non-functional until Seasons is installed).
Also, Sleeping Hist Tree - Seasons Patch (I presume is the Seasonal Patch on the page) is apparently incompatible with the Sleeping Hist Tree - Purple Glow Effect patch (might want to mention that in the list)

Just looking at your collecting links thing real quick, you listed the Unique Thane Weapons 3 links twice, also, am I presuming correctly that the red ones means they'll be removed? I thought I'd get ahead a little and am going through them and trying to guess as best as I can which category they belong to, will probably have to move a few to correct things when the release happens but at least I won't have to download them.

As a side note, if we're adding Eclipse Mage Outfit as an alternative to Traveling Mage (presumably because we lost the SPID and textures for Traveling -- and slightly related, but I asked the one who manages the nexus page for whether we'd get them back someday or what's going on with them, dunno if he's merely the uploader or if he's also the mod author, and he replied a single "I don't know" so, I'm not holding much hope for them to come back atm :c) we'll probably need both Predone Bodyslides for Eclipse Mage and some sort of SPID for it too, the last of which I notice isn't on the list of collected links at the moment?

1. The answer to all that is in the new update. 😊

2. That just confirms what i thought would happen. Sadly there is atm. no SPID or HIMBO preset available for the Eclipse Outfit.

 

Another option would be the 'Hedge Mage Armor' and 'Hedge Mage Armor - 3BA Bodyslide Preset'. Old but exceptionally good. The SPID changes too much (aka the quest of the armor) to be useful. And there's lore and a reason for it being a unique set (like with 'Away, Come Away').

 

Aaaargh, now i want that armor in the game like all the years before. I always had it installed since its first release and removed the mod only as there was no bodyslide preset. Bur now we finally have one...

Thanks for the info. But thinking about it only makes the issue with DynDOLOD a blessing in disguise. Adding three mods only to be able to climb to the top of a lighthouse we only enter once or twice? Seems more and more to be a waste of ressources.

 

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion (keep them coming 😊), but this is something i won't use.

Just saw how big 'World - Textures (Details)' got. 😮

 

Moved the mods of 'Ancient Dwemer Metal' in there to 'World - Textures (Fixes). If you use separators, as i do, simply move the one for 'World - Textures (Fixes)' above the mod 'Ancient Dwemer Metal'.

 

This doesn't change the LO, or anything else, and only slims down the group 'World - Textures (Details)'. Changed the last update to reflect this.

DynDOLOD is so slow I've had time to read the warnings that occasionally appear in the log only to be like "what?", like most of the warnings are basically "Duplicate reference ignored for LOD. [mod.esp here] [REFR:FORMID] (places x in GRUP Cell temporary children of y (in worldname "world name" [WRLD:FORMID] at coordinates)) adds same model at same position, rotation and scale as [mod.esp here]" and the 2 mod.esp's are the exact same, so it's like "wtf happened here?"

Pretty sure the link for the Eclipse Outfit 3BA bodyslide preset also has a HIMBO preset in there?

 

EDIT: Nevermind, that's actually Lustmord that has a HIMBO preset on the same page as the 3BA preset, my mistake.
