Neliahawk Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 *sigh* i think this is the first time ive had a real issue with a mod i couldn't fix. For some reason the new version of defeat just won't fire off for me the older non DA version works just fine but not the new one. I'm running SD+ but that hasn't caused any issues in the past I've also tested by setting all levels to 100% and getting in a protracted brawl and letting them hit me from behind (which was previously a sure fire way of getting it to trigger). I've uninstalled / reinstalled and cleaned up defeat but still no go. Anyone have suggestions? Defeat when combined with Death Alternative works fine but when you let it play out at the default settings in MCM, its really unlikely to occur. #1 Death alternative makes Defeat use the Bleed Out State rather than the Thresh-hold method so that's a big change. #2 SD+ has a setting in Death Alternatives "Bleed Out" that makes its priority as likely as a Defeat Scene, actually I've never seen a Defeat Scene play when SD+ is allowed to have the same weight in "Bleed Out" Solution, Change the Priority of SD+ in Bleed-out to zero, SD+ scenes are also in the "Black-Out" state. This means that 1st Bleed-out your going to see a Defeat scene. 2nd Bleedout you will have to reach Black-Out State and then SD+ will play its scene. SD+ in Blackout Scene is probably still too high of a weight and you will likely never see AD scenes as a result, so there again you have to tweak the chance to see other scenes happen. What this means is with DA, your entire health bar is your new Thresh-hold for the Player, Followers and NPC's still function with the Defeat Thresh hold. TLTR You have to edit in MCM Death Alternative under Bleedout Section to see the mod line up function as intended. I'm away from my gaming PC at the moment but i couldn't remember seeing anything in the MCM for Defeat the references DA, do i need DA installed as well? I'm running an older version of SD+ (Probably not sure if its been updated) so that might be part of it as well. So both SD+ and Defeat have been reworked to use DA or is it just Defeat and both are fighting for the bleedout trigger, Defeat still seems to reference the chance on hit with both health and stamina. Should a DA MCM have been added? I didn't notice but then again i wasn't expecting it so didn't look :/ Defeat is stand alone until you install the new release of Death Alternative, might be problem there if you have the older DA. SD+ was updated to use the new DA. Yes both SD+ and Defeat will use new DA. You will have to tweak settings in DA to get things running right. DA now has MCM menu, you might not need a new game not sure about clean saves. Its definitely worth upgrading and starting a new game....SD+ works well with Hormones and PSQ Succubus, basically your in Succubus training the moment your Defeated and enslaved. Hormones also can make your char a Succubus with Puppet Master (which is off until you are a Succubus). I had to ditch out a lot of other script mods like Frostfall, wet and cold, iNeed, so heads up and it was worth. hmm so its intended that defeat doesnt trigger normally with health/stamina in combat anymore when you have DA installed? and JUST triggers on DA bleedout events then? i thought it would work normally in combat with the normal player victim settings and extra as an DA event on bleedout... not totally remove the normal functionality. that made me think something is broken with my install and install/uninstall mods trying to get defeat working "normally" with DA. *sigh* also a little thing i noticed is that i.e. wolves spawned from SkyTEST http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10175/? seem to continue attacking while defeat does a sex scene. i guess its because skytest changes the ai a bit and defeat cant calm them down or so?

A lot of mods that add new ai or more random encounters can and will mess up functionality so things will stop functioning as mod authors intended. Example, Skytest AI or even Sands of Time (I found the scripting in this mod too intense so things just outright stopped functioning properly, it also adds factions that are not covered). I would say don't use Skytest, SoT, or even a combat overhaul. Thing is if you get HDT fully working, a bunch of LL mods like Defeat, and a few eye candy mods of choice well your already pushing the limits of the game engine. I mean don't think my computer is powerful, think Skyrim Game Engine is aweful when considering your mod line up for actual play, which I hope mod makers realize we intend to play the game with their mod to the ending. Example of what mods I use now. Defeat Death Alternative SD+ Devious devices line of mods. Hormones and PSQ Seccubus SOS and hdt tbbp preg body (with full collision even belly took a whole evening and a morning to get that working) Preg Body Clothing Replacer and a few vanity mods such as Racemenu. No overhauls and no weather/lighting I use the ingame difficulty adjuster and find the game plenty challenging. When I think I just overcame the difficulty curve well I get robbed of all my stuff haha and the game gets challenging again. Took me days and days to figure out which mods would play well together.

Couple of things to try Defeat Clean up option Action key without weapon drawn Action key with weapon drawn, turn off hostility and crime from MCM menu first.

You'll lose all the companion collateral and other follower features but the onbleedout effect will trigger everytime. Companion collateral is a feature I really enjoy though, but I can live without it for the time being. Though on that note, is there any way to have the companion collateral have the aggresors steal your stuff like they do for the player? Defeat was working just fine for me without death alternative, but I had to give that mod a try and I really liked it. The standing up repeatedly with defeat problem is definitely there though, but it has managed to only show itself on 1 on 1 fights. If I'm outnumbered enemies are able to hit me while I'm down fast enough to keep me from getting up. Looking forward to any update that makes DA function better with defeat. Though it appears the DA guy knows exactly what the problem is with defeat, maybe he could help.

Is new version coming soon? , I don't know what version i should use right now. Yes, I'm currently improving the surrender and I'm writing some dialogues, it's the right time for suggestions if you have any. Not a lot much to do after this.

On that same screen an error message pops up saying I don't have the 1.7 SKSE update. Problem is, I'm also using other Nexus mods that are using the 1.6.16 non-alpha SKSE. When I use 1.7, it hangs with no error popups. If I use the current SKSE, I get the 1.7 popup and it still hangs. =( I had that problem before like 2 months ago and it constantly plague'd me with Skyrim and it wasn't Defeat. The issue your describing can happen because of a bad video driver install...This can happen even with only particular games on your system. Symptom is usually heat related due to a Beta Driver but can also be just a bad install. I have Nvedia Card and suffered for a week with this issue until I figured out card was overheating and rolled back my drivers....A day later there was an emergency driver patch lols. Ultimately I just Downloaded the driver set I remembered worked best for me back when Skyrim came out I think I have 290 driver set right now and feel the performance is better than current 300 version series. @ttpt Thanks man! I'll try "No Transition" and well sounds like it'll fix things right up.

MadOrse Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Run into a problem where the Rape animation won't kick in after being selected on a victim. Got FNIS behaviour and also ran the "Generate FNIS for users" and I see SexLab Defeat in the list of read mods. I forgot to do so initially and had the same problem. After I ran it though, atleast the "Tie Up" animation worked (her hands were bound and she got on her knees) The result when clicking "Rape" however, was the same. She strips completely nude and then just walks away. Done the same as Loves2Smooch and installed the 7z archive, so I doubt that's the cause. And obviously SexLab Framework ( .v 157) is installed too.
zupra Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 This is what happens now with Defeat and DA when Defeat kicks in and starts stripping the gears. PC just falls through the ground and after falling few seconds she teleports further skipping the Defeat scene. Anyone else with this issue? edit: It seems my save file is just messed up. Rolling backwards helped and now it "works" again. I'm gonna remove DA for now but hoping to get it back later.

My mods Defeat, Death Alternative, Sanguines debauchery plus, Assortment of Devious Device mods. Solution that worked for me with stuff not functioning. Now for one the 1st 3 mods all have a Cleanup command in MCM, I occasionally have to use those clean up commands to get things to start running again, its not perfect but it gets the game moving along again. Also note that all of those mods I mentioned need to have their settings adjusted, I posted on that several pages back. If your running DA you might have the game difficulty too low as it is a wolf can hardly prove a challenge to a player. I mean come on against a wolf in vanilla I regen health faster than it can dish it out. Also I stopped using a follower, #1 Followers are kinda powerful early game #2 really have to already bump up the difficulty level to almost crippling levels for both challenge and well to see the mod line up in action regularly! #3 I notice more issues when running with a companion as opposed to running solo. Edit For Animals to work you have to check mark Animals in MCM under the SexLab mod.
xgkf Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I can second companions tending to cause issues with DA and SD+ (Not so much with Defeat, even with it running through DA). The way followers work (essential ones at least) in Skyrim just messes with the way these mods try to do business, in that once you're downed, combat essentially stops, making the game's follower framework trigger the follower to recover and start regenerating health. What's the follower probably going to want to do now that they're back up and still surrounded by enemies, though? Get back into the fight. That interferes with the way these mods want to handle "post-combat" events because if the follower attacks one of the enemies, that follower's association with you will probably turn them hostile again, mucking things up as you find yourself thrown back into a fight.

I have a custom follower that didn't have the potentialfollower factions on it,, but I added it through a patch and now the custom follower works for defeat and it even works on EFF, which it didn't before, it even keeps it's custom follower AI even.

Mine is an nVidia GTX780 that has TP cooling and the amibient temp here is freezing! =D It seems to be an on-off problem. I'm using the SKSE 1.7 alpha and sometimes it still hangs; other times not. Having said that, the threesomes are not working for me (when Defeat does work) even though I have set it to 100%. I'm trying to scour through the past 200+ pages to see if there is a fix, but any ideas will be good. =) Also, is it intended that the second attempt only happens after the enemy NPC defeats me a second time rather than follow through after the first? The resist bars and strafe options also don't appear for me. Once in the bleedout state, I can change my character's direction but no other movement or action is possible. I'm using a custom race mod and new idle animations. Are they compatible? Ty.

Did you test on a new save? Threesomes are working fine with other mods? For the second attempt, what do you mean? Custom race shouldn't be a problem, but try with a vanilla one.

wyzvux Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Is there anyway to fix the issue where a Female PC aggressor isn't recognized as the rapist when trying to rape? I know there's the swap actor position key, but somehow it always only "swap" the position of the NPC anyway at all, hotfix, script, console code, even TES5edit to fix this? i'll settle for a functional swap function.
MadOrse Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I can only guess that my problem lies somewhere within FNIS... It allows the "Tie up" animations but not the rape ones it seems. Tried to SexLab submit too. No rape-scenes are ever engaged =/

If that is the case I recommend making a new thread in the Sexlab Tech support forum and asking for help. I or others will be happy to try and help you figure out what your animation issue is.
