Lets just trip over ourselves even more than we already do. D0 wants his mod site to be the biggest and toughest kid on the block. His ego is written all over Nexus. Look at Steam, far more people using the site at any given time and how many times has it been down? It comes down to their fearless leader tossing all the capitol the site makes down a black hole then complaining he doesn't get enough. There are more sites on the web then fleas on a feral dog and i have yet to run across a single one that is down a fraction of the times Nexus crashes. Everything from privately owned to corporate fat-cats and yet somehow they find a way to stay running even if by the skin of their greedy teeth. Nexus being a "big" site and therefore prone to crashing is bullshit, if that was the case why isn't newegg crashing every month or how would it be possible for youtube to always be running? They stay running because they take the time to actually invest the crapload of cash they make back into the site to make even more money. Dorkone just grabs the money with his greasy little fists and runs away like a crack addicted leprechaun. His site was crashing full-tilt-boggie into the side of a mountain and he was picking his nose on vacation at the grand canyon. This post. +1000 So what is it. How many years has this been happening now? If you ask me, I'll flat out tell you Nexus is just another pyramid scam. This seems complete bullshit to me, 5 minutes of maintenance time my ass. Maybe he should try to spend a little cash on the site rather than using it for himself. Simply make the site better, more people will use it, and more people will pay for the better accounts, no? This just seems like a basic idea, and he does not seem to comprehend it very well. Wise is the person who spends his money now, to earn more in the future.

That could be part of the problem at Nexus...well, I KNOW that is part of the problem at Nexus. Another thing, Valve is ran by professionals, not by Dark0ne and his forum nerd staff. Think of Nexus as Obama's United States and his staff as Senate/Congress. "It's broke! We need more money!" We just gave you a butt load of tax dollars. Where did it all go? He just needs more and more money so he can "fix" the problem, then when he gets the money, he is just 1 step closer to "fixing" that problem. It is much the same as what goes on with the government, and the other countries as well. If you look at the graph showing how much of the money is owned by 1% of the American population, it is extremely unbalanced. But the government does not give a shit, "if it is not affecting you, then why worry about it?"

But you realize that steam belongs to valve, a company that makes a shitton of money. And youtube/google? They're swimming in money as well. And there is a big company behind that. With professionals working on everything, not some dude who thought it would be fun to make a modding site that got more and more popular until it spiraled out of control. I mean, just look at the staff - it's more of a clique than anything else. Nothing professional at all here, but a site that big would need professional management and not your buddy Joe who always was kinda good at tech stuff back in high school.

I was frustrated over three hours when I woke up and find Nexus giving me the finger from six o'clock in the morning. Took a bath and went out to work. Came back two hours later and it's still the damn maintenance page! Did the Nexus headquarter exploded in a nuke or something?

I have seen it before where if you refresh from the maintenance page it doesn't update to show that the site is up but closing it and opening a new tab will show that it's up.

Even if it were a stuttering mess unable to handle any download, at least it would produce traffic. If they don't give a shit if the Servers are up or not, they can't be that greedy now can they. Because an offline website does not produce Money. And i'm sorry but did people just start comparing the Valve Corporation, a professional multi-billion-dollar corporation with a staff of over 300 people, with the Nexus-Team, a small group of freelance Dudes who run a fansite? I have an account over at TESAdventures that made a total of 7 posts, 6 of them were made because I wanted to contact the modder geechan because I liked one of her mods. That was three years ago. You can look it up if you want to, I have the same nick over there. I mean, I have over 100 posts over at hongfire so if anything I'm more of a hongfire scrub than a TESAdventures scrub.
