Is there certain conditions that need to be met for transferring devious devices from the PC to NPCs?

 

I got the device transferring weapon as a drop and used it on many different NPCs and nothing happened. Used it on males females and strikers but nothing changed.

What's the gender you selected in MCM? If you selected only Female, transfers won't occur. Select the "Both" option then transfers would occur.

Exactly like @Tron91 said, this an issue i yet have to fix.

@CrymH I have an idea. How about a summon spell that spawn a very stronk DS that help you eliminate all the enemy in the area. But then you need to fulfil the deed being transfered all item from that DS. You can try to backstab that DS though but you can only have 1 chance, if the DS survive the hit it will transfer all item immediately.

 

Noted. But the whole backstab idea might be difficult, i will see if i have to change the idea a bit.

Hmm this indeed sounds like a problem that came form upgrading. Could it be that you reloaded a cell in which strikers were already spawned in?

Don't think so since this problem occured in indoor cells (bandit mines) that I hadn't been to before. I'm just going to ignore this issue for now; if I end up starting a new save file some time in the future and this problem still occurs I'll let you know.

My idea is if the DS die in combat then it will not trigger transfer items. But if you attack it and make it hostile then it should trigger transfer immediately. This is to keep things balance so it is not a overpowered spell without cost but the cost is not so big that render people from using it.

After some testing in a new save file I can confirm the issue with 2 sets of devices spawning on Strikers was indeed caused by updating the mod to a newer version. In other words, the mod is working perfectly fine now.

It's simple as a sort of deal, you get to utilize the service of a DS but end up with what the DS wears when the DS despawns. A sort of check is necessary that the PC shouldn't be wearing any DD items when summoning/recruiting the DS.

 

Edit: Maybe some DS followers can be introduced. When you fire them, you get to wear the items the DS follower is wearing when fired.

I like the idea. How about after a certain amount of time (maybe 3 hours in game), 1 items will be transfered to player. So the longer you using the followerr the more it transfer.

Yeah i think i got the idea, but i am still puzzling about how the player gets the spell. One solution that came to mind was to have it drop as a possible reward from a striker boss of some sort, which only appears once maybe. 

 

about your edit: also an interesting idea but it would need some balancing as the follower wouldnt be an actual striker, or else they will loose their devices after a couple of fights and just be a naked follower. So they cant use normal striker transfer weapons. 

The other point is about their locked equipment, which has to always be the same devices or else the main quirk wouldnt work as you described. But this limits the way a normal follower works as you can not change their armor anymore. And this would make them more of an ally similar to summoned atronarchs or familiars. which is basically the first idea

So if I have only player as target selected I cannot transfer devices to NPC? I kinda thought this option meant that only the PC could have devices transferred to them. Might be a good option to add though.

Since scrolls are a one time use item it might be fairly balanced too. The scroll spawns a single striker that (in theory) vanishes after hitting an enemy too often (or after the timer runs out). Good to weaken/disable tough enemies and not too overpwered like a permanent follower. To further balance the scrolls (if they are still op), reduce the level of the striker that's spawned to x-% of the player level? Adjustable scroll drop chance via MCM and we're good to go? Just throwing some ideas in.

Somehow, the modification crashes my game regardless of how hard I try to make it work.

No Papyrus log, no SKSE logs, no nothing - the game just goes *poof* silently. Until I disable it (and only it).

Mod version: 0.3.0.1beta.

Skyrim: LE, Steam, latest version, completely clean install.

 

If anyone can give a clue on how to extract any valuable info for debugging - I'll do it.

Yourr DD Contraption is a bit suppicious, It should not in the bottom of the list. I ask this to make sure you are using DD5?

Your list is full of links which take some time load when i try opening the content block. Can you send the list without links again please?

I have also noticed that you use 2 Crashfix plugins, is it possible that those two cause some problems

DD 4.X is the problem. DD 5.1 needs to be installed.

i have a problem, every time i am supposed to get gear on i get a no show, it also keeps the scenario from continuing.

as in, every time i am supposed to be "wrapped up like a present" i get the knock down animation and it's suck, i never had this ever until this mod.

Have you upgraded from a previous version or installed it freshly? 

Sorry for beeing inactive recently, i had alot to do and wasnt really into modding at that time.

no probs, i fixed it.

DD didn't work at all properly so i completely removed it and reinstalled it again, worked like a charm.

 

i do have to say that i noticed something odd (or it's a bug/intended ;) ), when i use a devious weapon it barely transfers at all while strikers do it all the time.
