Devious Strike - beta - LE/SSE View File This is my first Mod and english is not my bla bla ... who even cares? Let's get right into it. Have you ever thought: Skyrim's combat is not exciting enough? AND There are almost no mods that handle Devious Devices during combat? < OOhhh BOY do i have a solution for you > ! Check below to see how to properly upgrade to new Versions ! ABOUT For short version scroll down to the Features list. This mod adds a new enemy the world of Skyrim, you can find them amongst various factions. These enemies are called 'Strikers', they have deviously enhanced weapons and spells on them. Their sole purpose is to wrap up the dragonborn in Devious Devices. How? Well.. these weapons and spells have the ability to transfer one or multiple Devices from attacker to target. This means that the Strikers, who are already covered in Devices from top to bottom will render you more and more helpless with every hit you take . If they manage to get a set amount of hits on you, ALL their devices will be transferred at once! But don't worry, it gets worse (or better, depending on your point of view): when they deplete your health to a set percentage, you will receive extra punishment, in the form of heavy bondage or devious furniture. If you manage to kill one of those Strikers, they will drop device keys and some other loot. This should give you a good motivation to kill a Striker when encountering one. If you are very lucky you might get a weapon drop from them. With their weapons you can turn the tables and rid your devices on other folk! Also when deciding against a fight, be aware that they run faster than just normal bandits and will most likely catch up sooner than you think. The mod has high customizability through an ever expanding MCM Menu. FEATURES Adds Striker enemies that attack you with devious weapons you can also enable default enemies to carry those weapons Devious weapons will transfer devices onto the victim device outfits can be selected in MCM for personal preference All device types can be toggled in MCM Enemies are found amongst various factions Striker Types: Mage, Archer, Dualwield Melee, One handed Melee, Two handed Melee Methods of punishment are included Transfer of all remaining devices Heavy bondage like armbinders, wtc. Devious furniture Almost everything is customizable via MCM Hardcore mode available Semi-Hardcore: Lock MCM when restrained Lots of other stuff, like key drops for killing those enemies, follower integration, etc, just see for yourself... CLEAN UPDATING TO NEWER VERSIONS: How to clean a save extremly carefully (some steps could be skipped): Teleport to an unused cell, for example: 'coc unownedcell' / 'coc qasmoke' Make a new save and quit out use a save cleaner like Fallrim tools' resaver to clean the new save uninstall Devious Strike go back in game and load the save clean save ingame press 'T' to wait about 3 days, so will reset its default stuff make a new save and quit out again Open this save in your save cleaner and check for orphaned scripts, if yes clean the save again TO BE EXTRA SAFE: Go back in game and make a new save Quit out and install the new version Go back in and make a new save open save cleaner and check the save file, clean it if it's dirty Start playing. INSTALLATION Install like any other mod via Mod Manager or munually Don't forget the requirements! CONFLICTS & INCOMPATIBILITY Devious Heatrise - soft incompatibility: Strikers can force equip additional plugs/piercings through chastity devices. When heatrise triggers a vibration event and the player has two plugs/piercings equipped, they will stay idle for a little while, if the game then tries to autosave, this save will supposedly be corrupted. (reported by @Farsh-nuke) CURRENT ISSUES / PROBLEMS Punishment does not work when the target gets one-hit or Killmoved (mods like ultimate combat prevent killmoves against player) If you are in the inventory while strikers spawn a message box from DD will show up. There is not much i can do about this, if you have any ideas, let me know. If at some point during your playthrough devices will no longer transfer, take a look at the debug page and check for the option "Are events blocked?" when this is enabled and no other mod is currently doing something then you should be fine to tick the option "Reset Block Flags". BE CAREFUL WITH THIS AS IT CAN BRAKE OTHER MODS! if you are unsure, ask first. Striker will redraw their weapons/spells mid fight after a successful transfer. Sadly i won't be able to fix this and i don't even know where it comes from Gender detection is a bit wonky at the moment, sadly i cant do much about it. ONLY against NPCs though When entering an interior cell and backing out again, the game will respawn strikers for every time you reenter and change there outfit. I will work on this for the next update Reanimated Corpses turn into strikers when changing cells. TROUBLESHOOTING / REPORTING BUGS If you encounter any problems along the way besides the already mentioned ones, let me now in the support thread. This goes for compatibility, bugs, etc. HOW TO BUG REPORT: explain your problem as detailed as you can so i can pinpoint where it comes from Attach log message to report for even more information needs tobe enabled before encountering a bug in Skyrim.INI or SkyrimPrefs.INI these options need to be enabled or the log file wont be created: bEnableLogging=1 bEnableTrace=1 Disabling log messages from other mods e.g. DD/Sexlab keeps the log file clean, this would be very helpful Log file can be found in: C:\Users\Name\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Logs\Script\Papyrus.0.log Attach the file to your comment in the support thread FUTURE PLANS Special encounters (Gangfights/ Bossfights/ Special Striker) rethinking the punishment script (how to set victims properly essential) (making a little quest maybe) Boundcombat for Striker if possible (Armbinder/ Straitjackets/ Petsuits/ etc.) -> Special encounter All of your awesome suggestions.. Hi there, I'm in the process of making a tattoo mod and I need to compress some dds files. I use Intel® Texture Works for compression and the following happens. Uncompressed textures (good): Compressed textures BC7 (very dark, very bad): Can anyone explain why this happens and tell me how to fix it? The obvious workaround is to just use the uncompressed files. But the compressed files are 25% of the original so I'd prefer that.

First of all, I'm using Paint.net. Second, I'm not a professional, so all of this is new to me. I'll be very grateful if you explain it to me like I was a 5 y/o kid. I have never worked with dds files before. I was told BC7 Linear was for SSE, but I don't have any clue about LE version. Also I was wondering if there's any setting that lets both LE and SE reads the same dds format. I'm trying to figure out what setting should I pick for tattoo overlays. I don't know if that matters. Is there a difference between overlays with transparencies and body textures? Thank you in advance.

I'm using Collygon's Battle Wounds, and I'd like to combine multiple bruises into one as the number of overlays is limited. I tried searching but I haven't found anything so far. Would anyone know how to do it? I have the .dds files, I assume it's as simple as merging them/putting one on top of another? There's also a .json file, not sure if I need to do something to that too Sorry if it's a stupid question, but any help would be appreciated, even a basic method, or which program to use. Thanks

This is @tianmuxia texture converter tool, which I localized in English for easier use by English speakers. Their tool extracts and converts .g1t files into .dds for editing and modification in photoshop. If you wish to save your edited dds, you need the Intel DDS photoshop plug-in, because the nvidia one will not cut it in most cases I've seen. https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-texture-works-plugin I only localized two of the tools, the only ones I needed: G1T to DDS DDS to G1T Those two tools now have English commands, and I tried to make layout of the echo messages easier to follow. I am working on a tutorial which will showcase the tool, and injection back into the game. -

Hi all, I was trying to swap some painting textures in a mod (Dragonborn Gallery). I cut some pictures to the proper aspect ratio, resized to the original texture's size (256x512) and converted it to DDS. I had zero problem with this before - I changed about 50+ paintings to my textures, worked all the time. Now in SE I try to use the same mod I made (basically just a texture directory, no scripting/esp at all) and I get crash when I try to put the paintings on the wall (there are activators on the wall where a painting can be placed). Some of my replaced paintings still work, but so far about 50% of them crashes the game at once. I also tried with another painting replacer mod and that works as well. This is the info of the working picture. This one is for my picture, which is NOT working. The only difference I see is the date. What do I do wrong? Edit: Now it seems I found a partial solution. I can convert the JPGs to DXT5 (instead to DXT1 as above) and it works in game, no crash. Unfortunately I have to resize a lot of pictures because with DXT1 I didn't have to go for exact pixel sizes. I still don't know why the picture on the 1st screenshot works, while mine on the 2nd doesn't. Peace, M

I fairly often get this issue where an item of clothing ends up with a very washed out to glowing appearance, despite the settings in the NIF being comparable (as far as I can tell) to other clothing items, and the textures being of comparable luminosity. It's driving me nuts, and I wonder if someone knows the "obvious" fix for this problem. Most often it happens to jewelry items, getting a "glow-in-the-dark" appearance. This time it's happening with plain cloth. Below are screenshots of a kilt mod I'm trying to do something with, compared side-by-side with a Tera armor of similar luminosity. The textures are comparable but the end results when viewed in NIFSkope, Outfit Studio, or Skyrim, are that the kilt is very washed out, with an over-exposed look, and practically glowing. Looking in the NIF, nothing seems unusual about it compared to other clothing items. If I make it the kilt's settings more like typical clothing (e.g. give its specular color as white) it gets much, much worse (it's presently set to red for no particular reason other than it being kind of dark). But taking it all the way down to black doesn't really fix it either, and I have concerns that doing extreme things like this will screw it up in ENB anyway. It should be as consistent with other in-game clothing as possible. I've been bashing my head against this all day, and am finally at the DIY failure point, so am now begging for help from people who actually know what they're doing. :-) Here's the textures: And the NIFScope results: (ImgBB seems to have connectivity issues today, so the full versions may load slowly.) The difference is even worse in Outfit Studio, with the tartan details blurred out by "bloom". The normal map for the kilt has alpha (the bottom edge of the kilt is a bit ragged from wear, accomplished by some transparency), though the bulk of the garment has a "solid" normal map, like most clothing does except where the transparency is needed.
