Hate to say it, but there are not a lot of seamless body mods out, that do not have some head and body disparity in color, contrast, seams, and detail.
Bad Dog Posted June 24, 2021 Author Posted June 24, 2021 NEW VERSION UP! This has fixed the body morphs and Blaze made bodyslide files for them. Also fixed, you can set eye color and head morphs in character setup. NPC file horses and tigers use the new morphs to give you more variety in head shape. If you run across any particularly ugly NPCs take a pic and let me know. I think I kept the furrifier from doing anything too extreme, but I've been wrong before. Tigers and Horses are final. Nearly. E.g. might do manes and maybe rejigger the horse tails, but this is V1 quality. @poblivion I need to circle back with the wolfies to get all the textures and seams right. In particular, I'm liking my new approach to speculars and I have to retrofit it to all the other races. 1

There's now a "FFO FaceBoneRegions" folder inside CharacterAssets which I assume is that "hidden folder" you were talking about, but it's empty, and there's no TXT files in CharacterAssets itself either. Unfortunately it seems I still can't manage the Tiger bits to work... Here is an example. Also I am not sure if it had been mentioned but the color miss matches between the head and body when recoloring the avatar! The females also. Should they all have animal feet? The male animals with the shorter penises seem to be morphing but are made too short. Need to be extended a bit. Mod seems a bit FPS heavy. Lost some with stuttering at the vault 111 start scenario. Nate the tiger questioned me, also a female tiger about our dog like Shawn. Wondered who the father was?

My Nate Tiger got a legit erection... Actually read your directions. Built horse, dog, tiger bodies in Bodyslide and furry feet were added. No Deer hooves or Cheeta paws showing up. (male or female)

I'm using SKK Synthetic Player (which forces you into 1st person to read a terminal once chargen is done and then teleports you out when you close it) so I don't get to see whether the change happens right after exiting LooksMenu or after the teleport. I'll have to try again with SMU or a vanilla start and see what's going on there. Skin tone itself seems to work fine so it's not a texture format mismatch or anything like that. Which has me baffled. For the record, I've only tested it with a female Horse PC, I have yet to try with other races or with a male PC instead, so I'll have to check those too. In other news, I just noticed the plugin data includes the "CaNRaceFixEffectScript" effects but you didn't actually pack the script itself; you'll probably want to include it because otherwise people will need to download CaN or any of my race mods to get it instead. As for cheetahs, I assume they're meant to use the same feline body as tigers, but since their textures haven't been rebuilt yet and (AFAIK) the feline body uses edited UVs, that's probably the reason why they don't actually use the body yet. Tried with a 100% vanilla game with only FFO, LooksMenu and CBBE/BT2 installed, same thing happens, and it cannot be due to conflicts with other mods because that's exactly why I got rid of them all. Male Horse PC loads tints just fine, the Nora NPC loads tints just fine during chargen, Nora keeps her tints just fine if you pick a male PC. It's when the PC is female that tints disappear, even though LooksMenu says they're being applied just fine. Couldn't try with tigers since they don't have any markings. Might try with deers since AFAIK they do have them. I get the feeling whatever fuckup is going on here happens right as the player's sex is swapped and the appearance copied from the Nora NPC to them, since that's the only thing that happens right as you exit LooksMenu (and also the exact point where the tints disappear). I think I've seen some mods out there that let you have two Nates or two Noras (aka you can start with the Player record as female), so imma see if I can jury-rig that and directly check the tints on the (female) player themselves without having to go through the appearance transfer.
Blaze69 Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 (edited) Status report: Same Sex Spouse mod requires you to pick NPC Nora during chargen so it's a moot point (i.e. can't be used as workaround). I went with Player Nora all the same which fucked up the quest and camera (as the mod warned) but I noticed tints did work on the player then, so the "appearance transfer fucks it up" hypothesis is becoming more likely. Tried with Deer paints, they work fine on a female Deer PC (aka normal game behavior and what should be expected from horses too). I've combed through the plugin data, don't really see anything that'd explain this thing. Female horse head record was missing a TXTS texture record but adding it back didn't help. Everything else is 1:1 with other races including deers as far as I can tell. The function that handles appearance transfer from Nora NPC to sex-changed Player (if leaving the intro chargen with Nora selected) seems to be hardcoded into the engine itself and the way the race/looks menu work so no luck on that front. Found the issue: the female horse head material is missing the "FaceGen" flag and instead has the "Skin Tint" one, which is only used by body parts, not head ones. (I'm guessing it was mistakenly duplicated from a body material instead of a head one as intended. Turns out the _FaceBones nif (which is loaded during chargen and swapped for the normal nif once finished) points to the male head material by mistake too instead of the female one, and since the male material does have the right settings, tints work while the _FaceBones nif is loaded, but when the game loads in the normal one, tints stop working because it's not tagged for FaceGen (aka tints) as far as the game can tell. So that was it. Anyhow, @Bad Dog, here's a quick'n'dirty fix that replaces the borked material with a duplicate of the male one but pointing to female textures. Dunno if female heads use different shader values from males but I'll have to check it later, for now I just wanted to get the damn thing fixed and the bug reported already. I wonder if there's an error in the bone weights that causes the shaft to not come out even though the morph is applied. I'll check it out, maybe copy the weights from the horse. EDIT: Just saw Blaze's update. Okay, will get on that. I do fuck around with specular/gloss values but they're the same between male and female so your fix should be fine. If you look carefully. The Neck has a pure white tint whiles the chest has more of a light orange tint on it, Try out the custom colors for the Tiger. and you will instantly see the problem from there. Just want to point out again this was not a problem before on the Tigers in version 0.4 it was basically seamless in color+texture in that version I am more that happy to screenshare this through discord for you! ;3 Edited June 25, 2021 by BafMeow

You want Furry_Fallout 0.6.1 and Furry_Fallout_NCPs 0.6. I compressed the facegen files but the zip is still just as big. Don't know why. I implemented Blaze's fix for the horses and it seems right. I'll check the rest of the materials files for the same problem. Found a bunch of errors in horse looksmenu--those female presets are scary. Horse peen has the same problem as the tiger peen but I'm more convinced that it's a weighting problem by how the shaft is warping during the operation. 1

It now is like a darker version of the Tiger Skin,,,, Here is an example from version 0.4 where you could still tint your character completely black! Black Tiger really awesome x3 And how my Purple tiger looked in Version 0.4 And i found a silly problem just now too while testing the Skins.... This Tiger NPC has her nose/face deformed now in the latest version... This was ofc not the problem in 0.4 version But yeah if you like you can Private message me for a discord chat I do not mind showing off the difference between 0,4 and latest update of furryfallout ;3!
Bad Dog Posted June 25, 2021 Author Posted June 25, 2021 So a change I didn't mention in the OP is that the tiger skin now has some orange built in. That does make it harder to do peculiar colors. Not 100% sure how I want to deal with that, but I could provide an unsaturated variant if we can figure out how to make it available in looksmenu. The tint problem you're seeing is the mismatch in the white color between neck and upper chest, ya? Dunno what's up with that. I'll check the textures. Might also be in the materials settings. I've found a number of very warped female tigers. I'll check those settings in the furrifier. I haven't seen any warped male tigers to date.
