To save me some trouble researching it, what's "enb?"

ENB is a graphics processing solution which moves most graphics usage to the video card and allows for advanced processing.  I forget for what ENB is an ancronym, but you can install just the ENB to improve memory use, or install different ENB mods which change the settings from a "realistic" look, to a "fairy land" look, to just about anything you want.  The main thing it does is move most graphics use to the video card.

By the way, you probably already do this, but make certain you get SE mods for SkyrimSE.  It's easy to accidentally install an LE mod.  It might be a good idea to verify your mods.

I appear to have been doing everything right if the box were unchecked; but the box is checked, something I heretofore did not know was a possibility, explaining why nothing was behaving as I expected.

Now, how do I find either the ini in the profile folder, which appears as empty as the ballroom reserved for the 9/11 hijacker reunion, (if I'm thinking of the correct profile folder), or the ini editing button within the MO2 interface (which would appear simpler, if I could identify the damned button).  Figuring out complicated computer interfaces is not one of my innate talents.  I could just uncheck the box; but, I'd prefer to do this the "right" way.

You could save me hours of re-watching tutorials if you linked me to some plain instructions directly on installing mods to be run from the MO2 drop-down menu-- or, if it's simple enough, just describe it for me.  If you can't, I understand-- I'll just wade through the tutorials (and, of course, a lot of ads), again.  The results of my unsuccessfully attempted Wrye-Bash installation is proof that I'm not always great at applying lessons learned from one application to another, so I lack confidence that the tutorials I usually use will necessarily produce the desired results with this mod, either.

Thanks, again, for rescuing me from the brink of insanity.  I'll work on a problem 24-hours/day to get it solved; but, when I hit a brick wall, I'm forcefully driven up it.

TBH, most of the problems that i had with MO2 were with the virtual filesystem that it uses. So i switched over to vortex. atleast its easier to use granted at a higher space occupied. At this point id recommend you to skip MO2 directly and use vortex on the newer PC. Its kind of difficult to help via just text. dont know what to do man, i started skyrim just as the whole lockdown started.

Okay, so: The path for the profile specific .ini files should be MO2/profiles/Default/Skyrim.ini (Or substituting Default for your profile name)

Or, you can simply click the edit .ini button within MO2:

Alright:

1. Click that bar on the left side of the 'run' button. This should open a drop down with SKSE, loot, etc.

2. One of the bar options is "<Edit...>", click that. This now opens a smaller window

3. Within this small window, called "Modify Executables", it should have a list of applications able to be launched through MO2.
4. Enter the fields. Any name into "Title"

5. Now click the browse button to the right of the "Binary" textbox

6. Browse to the app you want to add to be launched through MO2

7. Now just click the "Add" button.

In any case though, I believe you don't actually have to add that app to MO2 to grab the profile information. Download the latest version here:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56640?tab=files

Unpack then run. Under the Mod Organizer tab, browse to the plugin.txt within your profile. Now choose a username and password to upload.

Then your mod list should appear under https://modwat.ch/u/(YourUserName)/, send me that link please.

"The modwat.ch api server is not responding..." I've been getting that forever and a day.

Is there any way to clear this whole Modwatch thing and start over?  For one thing, I was getting error messages earlier, and, now, I suspiciously can't reach the server.  For another, I inadvertently installed the program on my E: drive when it belongs on my C : drive with everything else.  I tried reinstalling over the "wrong" installation, but, short of purging it, there doesn't appear to be any way to reassign Modwatch's mod profile directory.

I could also be making as much progress on all of this as a single monkey on a single typewriter trying to compose Shakespeare.  Sure, it could happen....  I'm starting to gauge my odds of figuring this stuff out as about even with the monkey's.

**********************************************************************************************************

Yeah, something's definitely wrong and preventing the modwat.ch api server from responding.

If you can help me get that going, that'd be great.  Until then, I'm just going to try to create that Papyrus log.

One thing I found curious as I was trying to capture the problem for Papyrus: I'd serendipitously saved just before my 'toon was assaulted by a horse.  After each assault, I experienced the arm problem; it seemed an ideal place at which to gather data.  I tried over and over, again.  Then, unexpectedly, despite all variables apparently being the same, the encounter terminated normally, without the "arm problem."  So, whatever is causing this is, on some level, random.

Click that modify ini button on MO2:

image.png.681016df7ceaad8049e61a995d3f9806.png

And add this record into Skyrim.ini:

[Papyrus]
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation = 1

After that go into "\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Logs\Script" and grab the "Papyrus.0.log" file.

I did exactly that.  It created nothing more than "Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Logs\Script\User\SexLabDebug.0.log."  It did not create any "Papyrus.0.log" file.

It took me hours to determine that that was the only output I was getting, and that I had the same result no matter which method I used to try to start the log.  This has been a lot of work for, so far, no reward-- the results don't even appear to make sense.  I appreciate all of the help, of course; but, how long until you become as frustrated and fed-up with these results as I am?

Installing PapyrusUtil SE because it was on some recommended mod list is one thing; knowing what the f**k it is/does and how it works/conflicts with SL without a linked tutorial is something else, entirely.  In that case, if the interface isn't absolutely intuitive, it had better be autonomous or it might as well be a switch labeled "In Case of Photonic Instability" on my car's instrument panel, or a "smelting setting" on my Energy Star freezer.

This tutorial, for instance, didn't quite answer any of my questions: "PapyrusUtil SE || Yes, It's That Simple:"

In fact, it left me with the impression that its mere existence in the load order was enough for it to do whatever in Hell it's supposed to do.

If you could clarify your point, it would be most helpful.

Okay, uhm, Papyrus Util is just a required library for some mods to function. Sexlab comes with it's own copy, but obviously not updated since whichever Sexlab release you're using. It doesn't do anything much on its own, it's just a library /  requirement for a lot of other mods.

Suggestions (blue) and corrections (green) for the second of the two Doppelganger texts (Pursuit of a Shadow). I took quite a few liberties, so, feel free to ignore them if they are not to your liking/ not exactly what you meant to say.

Spoiler

Fellrim the Beerbane: Here you are at last. Time to work off your debt to me!
What are you talking about? This is the first time I even see you
That's strange, 'cause I see you for the second time. The first time, you were in a terribly revealing outfit. Where is it by the way? Anyway, if you intend to play dumb and act as though we haven't met before, you might be interested in this contract right here that was signed by your own hand.
Uhh, sure. But while we're at it, could you maybe remind me of what exactly it is you expect me to do?
Here, just read. It's all written in this contract that you signed. You should really put on that outfit from last time again by the way. Would look much better than what you're wearing right now.
Contract signed by your hand
I, Fellrim the Honey-Guard, also known as Fellrim the Beerbane pay 1000 gold to [Name]
for future services. By signing this contract, [Name] agrees to perform in a tavern under the guidance of the aboaforiaforeaforementioned Fellrim the Beerbane as a dancer or in a similar position at discretion of the abomentioned Fellrim the Beerbane.

Signed by Fellrim the Beerbane.
Signed by [Name].

That is not my signature and I will not perform for you as a dancer
So, you’re going to go back on your word, then? I have this contract and witnesses. All you have is a brazen mug. You'll find yourself in prison in no time!
I don’t care
Oh, believe me, you will once the guards had a go at that ass of yours.
Look, can't I just pay you the 1000 gold?
Not after you teased me like that back then. I can still feel your rock hard nipples brushing against my skin. What a sexy beast you were.

You sure you don't want to change your mind?
Fine, how do I fulfill this contract?
Let’s go to Black-Briar Meadery.
What next?
Now dance! Dance!

Random Dark Elf: [He slaps your butt]
Hey!
What? You want it badly, don't deny it, whore!
Thank you
Like it, slut? [He slaps you again]
What next?
The Bee and Barb.
(Naked) I see you already know which “outfit” suits you best. Dance, monkey, dance!
(Not naked) You have too many clothes on. Take 'em off and get back to work again. Dance, monkey, dance!
Random Nord: [He begins to snuggle up to you, grabs your ass and gropes your breasts] Hey, slut, how about 10 gold for a blowjob?
No
12 gold?
Not for 12, not for a hundred, not even for all the riches in the world
Why are you shaking your body like a desperate whore right now, then? Hmm? Stupid cunt!
I said no! Get off me
Look at this queen, presenting her body like a bitch in heat. Hah, that’s right! Queen of bitches!
Deal
Always love meeting new whores.

What next?
Why didn't you agree to suck his cock?
Common sense?
I liked you way more the first time. What does it take to get your slutty version back?
I want to have a clean mouth for you
Does this mean I can fuck your mouth now?
I want a blowjob too!
Yes
I'd prefer not to rely on already used stuff, but any longer and my balls will explode.
No
Really liked you more the first time we met. What does it take to get your slutty version back?
[Haelga's Bunkhouse. Gee up! With gait! <--- What exactly do you mean to say here? What is the context?]
Naked dance. As usual, slut.
Haelga: You can't do that here. This is my territory. Go to Beggar's Row if you want to do that sort of thing.
I don't want to! I'm being forced to
I see. Alright then, go ahead. I know what it feels like when someone interrupts you while you're doing something you're being forced to do.
Will you allow me to continue if I put my tongue in your slit?
Oh my, how can I say no to that kind of offer? Lady Dibella would never forgive me if I did.
Random Nord: [He desperately grabs your boobs and begins to madly suck on them]
[Try to shove him away]
[He holds on tightly to your breasts, as if they were the only thing keeping him from falling into the abyss]
Excuse me?
[He pays no attention to you. To the unnecessary part of you that is]
EXCUSE ME?!?
[He finally directs his attention to what is so brazenly trying to distract him from more important matters] Whoa? Oops, you're not Haelga. I thought you were Haelga. Haelga usually likes that sort of thing.
Then, would you be so kind to let go of my breasts, now?
[Reluctantly, he almost lets go of you] Maybe just a little fuck?
Ugh, fine
[He lets go of your breasts. Your nipples are all twisted and red marks and saliva cover your breasts] Great! I knew that was my whore sense tingling when I saw you.
No
[He lets go of your breasts. Your nipples are all twisted and red marks and saliva cover your breasts] Nice udders by the way.

What next?
Are you against a good fuck or what?
Yes, I am against sex with strangers
Then, does that mean I get to fuck you, because we know each other?
No
So, we'll bang, alright?
I want to fuck you too!
Yes
I've been holding this load back since our first meeting, slut!
No
You what? Do you get money for every refusal, bitch?
The Ragged Flagon. You know where that is, right? Down in the Ratway. I will meet you there and you can fulfill your contract.
Random Argonian: Uh-oh.. Am I in time for the distribution of free pussy?
What?
Ol' Fellrim turned into a pimp. He walks around the taverns with this new whore of his. I immediately rushed here to get some free cunt. Am I in time?
I don’t know what you mean
[He looks at you suspiciously] Really? Are you sure? I would say that you know exactly what I mean, moreover, it's your pussy that is being distributed.
Yes
Huzzah! But let me catch my breath first.
Another naked dance?
Nah, I've already seen enough of you shaking those buns. I’ve fucked you with this eager Argonian and I now consider your contract fulfilled.
Stop blue balling other people, bitch! I completely lost my mood because of you. I don't even want to ask you about threesomes anymore. Consider your contract fulfilled. Man, what a waste of money! Seemed so sexy and eager at first, too.

Can you tell me where I went after I signed this contract with you?
You're not old enough yet to start forgetting things like that. Well, you said that you needed this money to buy a stallion for a ride. Sounded playfully ambiguous when you said it, but I don't think I'd misunderstand your dirty hints.

Stableman: Did I buy a horse from you?
Yeees? Is something wrong? I warned you not to try to ride him by inserting his cock into your orifices.
Uhm, do you know where I went afterwards?
If you can't remember that by yourself, that probably means you should drink less, Lady. Nevermind. You rode off into the direction of Shor's Stone. Apparently they have some sort of fertility problem, although I always thought it was merely a mining settlement. Just the workers, you know, no families living there or anything like that. But you don't need to go there, because the quest ends here. Wait for the next update.

For the line in red: It seems as though this is meant to be the answer to the player character asking: "What next?", or similar. But, such a line is missing. If this is the correct reading, my suggestion for Fellrim's answer would be: "Off to Haelga's Bunkhouse. Giddyup! And put some swing into your gait!"

Whoah, boy, have I launched the game at least two times!

When I created a save that quickly led to the error within a couple of minutes, I tested and re-tested from that point, restarting game after game, until, to my astonishment, the game completed the animation without creating the "arms at the sides" error.  I probably could have kept testing there, but, it seemed a shame to throw away such a freak occurrence, so, I continued playing from there.

Another time, I got the error in reverse: I could still attack/move my arms, but I couldn't walk.  I tried turning the log on, again; but, again, got no log.  In any event, that error didn't reoccur as the others always did.

Since then, I've been playing and constantly saving, waiting for another reliably repeatable error to occur.  For hours, now, the game has been running normally.  I pretty much need any action scene to be forcibly interrupted by a sex scene to set up the error.  The error has occurred haphazardly at other times, but, that's one pretty reliable pattern I did identify.  Ordinarily, I don't need to wait this long for the error to occur; although I got to level 58 in one game before ever getting it.  In case a log is ever generated, I don't want it to be an hundred miles long before reaching the error, so I frequently just stop the game in case a log is being generated and restart-- I hope-- a new log.

I've tried editing both the MO2 profile ini and the one in My Games, but never at the same time.  If you don't hear from me for a while, I'm still waiting for the error to pop off after setting up the log in both locations.

Thx, again.

Are you sure your FNIS setup is complete? I would recommend the XXL version of FNIS depending on how many animations you are loading (how many animations does FNIS show?)

Also have you ticked the 'skeleton arm fix' within FNIS? It might help. Also have you dragged XPMSE to the bottom of your mod order (left list) so it is not overwritten by anything?

I haven't touched him since his creation and he is just an ordinary child NPC. Maybe I didn't take his face gen when last packing the mod? Does anyone have the same problem?

I updated to the latest .esp today and decided to preview him in the Creation Kit to see if the discoloration persisted, and this is what it looks like on my end:

1.PNG.19c0dd54b82a211673d60f07bdce6b94.PNG

In-game my ENB makes the difference much more noticeable

To my knowledge nothing should be affecting his appearance, I don't even use the popular RS overhaul and nothing is overwriting ToH. If anyone has any idea how this happened and/or how I might fix it in the Creation Kit it'd be much appreciated.

I know how to alter an NPCs face and turn it into a patch, but I've no clue if and or what to change for it to make any difference in this case as it's the first time I've seen discoloration like this. There's probably something simple I could do...

So i have a problem every time an npc says something about kneeling my character will instead do a wierd float crouch.

I dont know if its because i have no kneeling animation and have to find one elsewhere or its not activating for some reason.

Hello, I got an issue with the quest: UsefulResearch

I can't end the quest when I finish talking to the HidesInDark. Even console: setstage AAAUsefulResearch 51 couldn't shut down the quest.

The title still in my quest menu and it need me to speak with HidesInDark. However he didn't want to talk with the quest.

If anyone knows any solution please give me some advice.

Thanks.

"6885 animations for 25 mods successfully included (character); 2392 animations for 8 mods and 45 creatures successfully included."  All FNIS files either indicate no conflict, or indicate they are winning a conflict.  That skeleton arm fix has been a requirement since I first started playing this game (I stayed with FONV until modders made some progress on Skyrim-- about a year after it first came out).  I'm kinda curious when anyone wouldn't use it-- why is it even optional?

I can put XPMSSE wherever you say-- I, obviously, just can't put it, ToH, and ZaZ all last in the order.

WHOAH!  I just tried to run LOOT after relocating XPMSSE to the bottom of the order only to discover that this program I run every time I move anything in my load order no longer exists!  I did zero screwing around in its files... what gives?

WTF-ingF???

* Obviously, I just ran the installer, again; but, is there any logical reason for that?  Has the vengeful spirit of my last computer (the magic voodoo box) come to sow chaos on this one because it can no longer torment me in its previous incarnation?  That would create an explanation-- albeit a totally irrational one-- for why nothing behaves consistently, anymore.   (j/k... mostly)

It is quite important for XPMSE to not be overwritten by anything else. ZaZ should be fine, I don't recall any major problems, sometimes mod authors leave some ZaZ resources in the mods which result in a conflict but when you check it is actually the same file.

Hm.. Okay, so does it actually exist? Going to C:\Modding Utilities\LOOT\Loot.exe', does that file not exist anymore?

1. Are you running MO2 in administrator mode?

2. Are you running LOOT in administrator mode?

3. Are you using any third party antivirus tool?

My bet would be on number 3.  If the directory exists but the executable does not, that's almost certainly an indication the anti-virus was being "helpful".  If so, there should be a way to add loot.exe to an ignore list for the anti-virus.

Two Loot files were in the right place, but the .exe and other files were missing-- in fact, just a dynamic link library and some other file were still there until I ran the installer, and it reloaded everything back where it had been.

I didn't change any modes from their defaults.

My daughter is a software engineer at Microsoft; her ex-bf is an engineer at Intel.  They recommended dumping any other antivirus and simply using Microsoft's, and who am I to argue with them?  Loot's working fine, again; it's just weird as f**k that its .exe and so many other files simply vanished for no apparent reason.

Idk how this is connected, if at all; but I moved XPMSSE to the bottom while I was in the Forgotten Regret; now, things are acting strange, again.

I received the "Slave Birthday Party" quest, but only Catherine would tell me what she wanted.  I reloaded and received an "Inspector" quest, but, after Grym, no one would give me responses appropriate to that quest.  I reloaded, again, and received a quest to go to the "Regret Room" complete with a new spell book.  The book summons horny ghosts; but the animations (always $zap_armb_doggy01 or $zap_armb_doggy01_SS) result in the ghost just standing in one spot all through the process and, frequently, for quite a while thereafter while my 'toon could move freely, but the ~ key revealed the ghost was still awaiting the end of his procedure.

I just don't like those Zap animations.  Whenever I have a problem with an animation, nine times out of ten it's one from there.

In short, this damned game is broken, again.  ?

* For the Regret Room bug, at least, I found a fairly easy solution: just refuse ever to use the bed.  Then, you're put in stocks and done from behind before the ghost just repeats one word no matter how many times you attempt to engage him; then, he ultimately vanishes after a couple of minutes.

I believe I've already tried every permutation of options for the other buggy quests.  In the past, at least people would tell me what they wanted at the party; but, I believe I updated some game file(s) since then.

Windows defender is fine. But then it's even more strange, as it's unlikely windows defender is randomly deletes game files... I'm really not sure what's going on, short of your system having malware or something. Are you sure you're not running any background antimalware / type tool? You've had some really... strange... issues lately. (i.e. MO2 and Wyre bash creating phantom patches in your Skyrim directory and random mods becoming unmanaged / backups, now LOOT exe mysteriously disappearing...)

I did manage to get all the way through the "birthday party" quest without my decision tree running out of branches prematurely... so, there's that.

The issues seem really strange to me, as well.  I'd think of calling in an exorcist or something if I had anything more definite to go on.  If anything is running in the background, it's doing so without my knowledge or permission.  I was told to use only Windows Defender several years ago, and I've used nothing else since.

But, thx tons for all of your help with this nonsense.

P.S.  Apparently, what I needed to do to generate a papyrus log was to turn on the logging in both locations, simultaneously.  So, the next time anything really freaky happens, at least there should be a papyrus log to show for it.

Is there a way to unbind all those "vampire cattle"?

They don't have any items. Only practice dummies have crossbow bolts in their inventory. Probably some other mod is interfering.

This mod has several overrides on Interesting NPC's 3.42 "tif_040.." scripts, any reason to overwrite?

No idea why. These are dialog scripts, for example set a stage, add an item, sexlab scene.

So i have a problem every time an npc says something about kneeling my character will instead do a wierd float crouch.

This is a vanilla animation of searching a chest. There is also a body and table search. When ZAZ feetlicking animation doesn't fit to the context, I use them. Jump up to exit the animation.

Even console: setstage AAAUsefulResearch 51 couldn't shut down the quest.

This stage shut down the quest. Maybe I should also check the "complete quest" box.
