So everything BUT this mod works fine... this mod gets me to the black infinite loading screen after you hit new game.

Anything I can do to help troubleshoot it?

What version of the game are you running? Pre Next Gen or "God forbid" Post Next Gen.

Double-check that you installed the prerequisite dependencies and that you've sorted the plugins in your mod manager. In particular people seem to get hangs and crashes if, for example, the plugin for Real Handcuffs is loading after the plugin for Hardship.

So ... I set steam to auto update so if it was pushed out that way next gen.

If not and you had to PAY to get next gen then pre next gen but it looks like it was a steam release and I was out of FO 4 for a year or two.

Hmm, I suppose that stops most help :)

Once you buy the game you NEVER pay for updates... ever. Now you do have to pay for any DLC's you don't have, but you should have bought the bundle/season pass right off the bat anyway.

A lot of mods will not work with the NG patch and many mod authors are in no hurry to update their mods to work with the shite show that is Next Gen.

But, generally as Vaultbait stated, if BH isn't loading then you have Real Handcuffs below BH. That's the most common problem.... for folks on the pre ng version.

Hello :), so far this is a great mod, especially considering story phases and changing situations. This is a silly question however I feel the need to ask first, this is the mod that brings on the companions "Let's get you outta those" response when the PC starts a dialogue with their companion *While wearing "Real Handcuffs"?

I'm thinking this is that mod as that sentence and event only comes up when this mod is enabled.

If so, I'm wondering if there's a way to separate the Handcuffs from the RH collar if the PC is wearing one? So far as I know every time the companion releases the PC from the cuffs, the collar also comes off, every time. It seems it's like that if the player is running from a Raider or other attack, but that's not always the situation and knowing getting that collar off so easily and cheaply kinda defeats a few other events. The companion is always willing and able to unlock them after just a few minutes (I only know 1 comp and still only limited experience with this mod).

Yeah, if I remember right there was no way to avoid this. I may be wrong though as it's been a very long time, and if I am right it may have changed since on the RH side. Unfortunately it would be up to someone else to fix it. I no longer do Bethesda modding and it's been several years since I've touched Hardship so I don't remember how to do a lot. even if I wanted to, Sorry.

Hardship doesn't always play that nice with other similar mods. I kinda had a vision and just went after making my own "game" that would work as much on it's own as possible in a early and chaotic FO4 adult mod scene.  My Skyrim SE/VR mod plays much nicer with other mods cause I was more experienced and that ecosystem is inherently more stable.

It's probably better that I'm just making my own standalone games now :).  (Another screenshot cause I can't help myself:)

:) Ok, Thanks for the prompt reply. I kinda thought it would be something like that, otherwise somebody would've already remedied this "Loophole". It's still a good system, sometimes I do these things, sometimes it's %100 business, Minutemen and the betterment of the Commonwealth, this mod allows me to switch back and forth. Good Mod.

Open the mod in CK, look for that line of dialogue in quest(s) and follow the script trail from there. It could be a function call to RH api from a dialogue fragment or quest stage. If you don't know how to work with papyrus, you can just add condition(s) to the dialogue in CK or add a speech challenge / random chance of success... . You can find tutorials on how to do that on youTube.

Do not feel bad if you can no longer provide support.

The mod still runs great.

Its bene in my load order ever since I started playinjg FO4

Actually it was the reason I bought Fallout 4.

I had seen youptube vids about it and I thought it was so interetsing and must be amusing to play for sure.

So if it wasnt for you and this mod I likely would have never bought FO4 :)

:) Yea, I may do that. I've had to learn the hard way (more than once) I'm actually no good at code and not good with dialogue either which is really bad because most of my mod idea are dialogue heavy (has to be some story and decisions to be thought over). I've had pages of mod story dialogue written just not competent at adding them to the appropriate stages. I do like your idea of adding conditions, removing both requires a higher charisma check and also includes situation conditions, only one would be much easier.

mod doesnt activate in MCM, tool doesnt spawn or is given, whenever I press activate in MCM, it just reverts back to it being off, is this a known issue or is it a fuck up on my end?

Make sure you have Real Handcuffs load before Hardship. Also, not sure IF it works with the Next Gen update. If you're on the NG version I'd suggest downgrading to 163 of the game anyway.

This is almost certainly the issue, which is why you need to RTFM. (It's item 15 on the instructions IIRC) Just to add more context, the reason this happens is because NOT being able to detect real handcuffs because it's lower than hardship in the load order causes the main script for Hardship not to fully execute which basically disables the entire mod.

This can also happen if there is any kind of problem with any of the requirements such as a corrupted script in AAF etc... (It has happened to me, and My god was it hard to figure out) so if all else fails reinstalling everything is always an option.

W, had issues with real handcuffs crashing out and found out and fixed the issue, works now, thank you

I don't remember if you can add an NPC to an alias with the console or not... but my gut says no.

There is that and then there is also a global variable that is set which can be.

You'd have to look how to do those things up on the appropriate wikis and then look at the mod's forms in X-edit to find out what they are called.  I was pretty good about naming things descriptively compared to a lot of other modders though so shouldn't be too hard to find.

Im trying to do the house party but don't have any dialogue options. Its as if HS doesnt recognise that I own home plate.

I already own home plate. Are there any other criteria to trigger the party dialogue?

Did queen Isabela tell you to get it and fix it up? I forget IF you have to report back to her about acquiring it.

That doesn't matter. Isabel's dialogue is just flavor text. You don't have to be owned by her to do house parties.

No, IIRC the option should just show up in Beggar Whore mode... if you own the house and are in DC (inside the walls). Make sure you have the house key in your inventory cause I think that's what it checks for.

What do you see instead of "I'm having a party" on the A button?

I have the key and all. The options are

1. Hi how are you

2. Can you please spare something

3. Never mind

3. Would you like to party

The party isn't the house party option. It just starts a regular solicitation.

Some additional information:

I have FO4 horizon 1.9.4 installed and I acquired homeplate without paying for it (horizon rewards home plate after completing a bunch of quests).

There are checks for ownership which are as follows:

1. I can build inside homeplate

2. Geneva says "enjoy your new place" or something.

3. I have the key.

The way horizon gives you homeplate is that it gives you a "mail" message. The message gives you 950 caps, then removes 950 caps, and adds the key to your inventory.

4. In this sense, I think horizon also performs a transaction.

I have no idea. Possibly horizon changed the form for the key... which seems like a dumb thing for a mod to change :) so that's probably not it., but Maybe try searching in the console and see if there are multiple homeplate key forms and add the one you don't have.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked the home plate key and there is only one registered ID which I posess.

Could the house party trigger be linked to directly transacting with Geneva?

It's not hard at all to acquire a bad boyfriend "the natural way." Pick your crush and stand next to them, then save the game. Ask if they want sex and if they turn you down then reload from your save. Once they agree to follow you somewhere, save again before you talk to them. When discussing prices say you don't like oral or anal, that increases the chances you'll be raped, then offer them vaginal sex. If they agree to pay you anyway, reload your latest save and talk to them about prices again until they refuse to pay and take you by force instead. Once they're done, go wait or sleep somewhere for a few hours and then approach them two more times (they'll rape you both times after agreeing to follow you somewhere). On your third rape from them, you'll get dialogue options to start a relationship, and then they'll begin following you.

Be aware that, because they're filling a quest alias while they're your bad boyfriend, this can conflict with other quests which want to add them as aliases too. For example, you can't have one NPC be both your Hardship bad boyfriend and your Harassment collar master simultaneously, or you'll never be able to complete Harassment's objectives to return to him.
