Finally and more important some of the changes are based on one of my tweak's so based on that i will try to answer your questions.

 

 

The info about the Dark Arena is known by some inn keepers and some of the NPC's of the Theft Guild in the Ratway. At least on my tweak the quest start after hear rumors about a kidnapped girl. You should ask the innkeepers of Riften or Inversted.

The thefts address you to ask Kiraba the innkeeper of Riften and she gives you the location of the Dark Arena.

 

 

The bets (at least the big table with the chairs) should give you progress too but the risk is too high and almost sure you will end as slave if you follow that path. The safest and faster way is as dancer and/or prostitute.  Right now my character is male and the dance was out of question, so at least in my tweak also fight on the pit make quest progression but give only 120 points for fight if you win of course. 

 

 

That's the worst and best part. Last time I check, require 12000 points or 300 dance/prostitution jobs. The scripts are a bit confusing about this but is a lot anyway. So I'm almost half way just fighting and usually do around 5 fights each time I'm on Riften. That means I will need 200 visits to Riften before be able of release the girl. That will take me a eternity but I'm not willing to be someone's bitch just to save that girl.

 

Ok, I saw the problem. I made a fix.

I lowered the barrier to 10 jobs and 1200 gold.

Whore and dance earn 80 gold. pit earn 160.

For special jobs barrier, you need 20

 

I'll test the dancer spots now.

 

The SSE conversion... sucked at al, I don't know why. I'll redone the conversion.

You need to use the ones in the main room. The ones is the room nearby the bedrolls are for dancer special jobs.

Ok, I found a way : i'll lock the follow client package by a variable.

I don't k now why I set so high number of jobs requirement... now you need 10 jobs. 20 jobs to unlock special jobs.

If you want to get more quicker, use setstage ada0_start 150. I could also lower the requirements.

ada_job_arena : raise the gold in case of winning to 160 (so, less than 10 fights will be needed to reach 1200)

Prostitution and dancing earn 80 (yeah, you're exploited).

 

So less than 10 winning pitfights will allow you to have the quest progress.

Is way more than that. On my tweak i check the whore money too, but the original script only check for the job property and the job don't seems to get updated anywhere. Also the Pit Fight wasn't giving any progress except for private fight.

 

Between the games only the big table seems to have progress on the scripts but at least I can't play on that table, probably is able after some point of the quest but I haven't checked because for i see is a two edge knife, if you win, the points are enough to end the quest but if you lose, the debt is enough to instantly slave you for life.

 

Like i said, the best and worse of the Dark Arena is that all the odds are against the player. Very much like a real casino but more corrupted because is Skyrim and here have slaves and kill someone is legal.

 

 

I think all the scripts need to be double checked at least for the quest progression.

 

The games have a lot of room for improvement but isn't that easy so that can wait. I wish to have more reasons to return to the Dark Arena aside the main quest or the Simple Slavery outcome. The pit fights are reason enough to come back, after end the quest (i take the opportunity to safely train some skills) but will be good knows that i can also play games for real.

High is good. I don't want to end the quest in less than 3 Skyrim days or will be too easy for one Mod that have just one quest.

fights againts the best warriors of the arena. Better rewards.

I completed the quest and got her home. But the boss sad something about seducing/spying on one of the blackjack players. None of them had any dialogues for that. I won the normal way.

Yes, It was a project for an alternative quest, but i never find time to implement it whithout bunch of bugs. And it was too sure. So, i prefer to let only the card game path ; player could loose.

Thanks for the updates! Was a bit frustrated at times having to grind events for upwards of an hour just to be able to progress the quest, these lower thresholds seem like they'd make later content in the mod more accessible

Saw in the notes something about possible future SD+ integration, that'd be very interesting to see, something like with the boss in the back room?

it's an hypothesis for now. I don't know if I can do that, or if it's relevant.

I never played SD+... It always crashed my skyrim install. It's like virginmarie about nocturne... I never played it long, CTDs...

 

The boss in the back room can be killed, but only after completing the main quest, and after unlocking the special jobs and working a time.

 

For know, SD+ is reachable though simple slavery, and Dark Arena is connected to simple slavery (you can be sold to dark arena, or being sold by dark arena to simple slavery).

If I go into debt, where can I pay the debt? Even if I win more money back, I get caught by the guard and sent to slavery even if I have 50k gold, with 10 gold debt.

Using the console to add money will not erase the dept !

 

Héhé... it's a int variable into the main quest. The only way to erase it is winning games, or working... even as slave.

so, you were enslaved, work to pay back your dept, and be released.

How high exactly is the fee to get one's gear back after having made enough money to be set free again? I've made almost 2000 gold, but the loaner keeps saying I need to come back when I've made the money, starting to get confused if this is set so high, or perhaps a bug.
