If you do, be prepared for things breaking or not going right. If you install mods in order, you'll install FNIS and Nemesis during the Physics and Animation section, since that's where they are listed. Nemesis has a note saying to check the instructions in post #3, which has the output creation steps. It does mention them during the Final portion, but for a newbie doing this blind, they'll think they were already installed and move on. I'm just suggesting adding a note somewhere, either to those mods in the Physics and Animation section or the install instructions in post #3, saying not to do this until the Final steps.

Alarich79 Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 (edited) Hi, thank you so much for this outstanding Guide. One three some ? questions, i could´t resolve in searching: If there are mods providing LOTs in the downloads or FOMOD but this LOTs are not mentioned in this guide, do i have to install them? If there are mods with updates patches which i can merge into, but merge isn´t mentioned, should i merge them? If i have issues with a mod and reinstall it, or install mods batchwhise (10-20 per day) is it sufficient just to uncheck all mods and check them from top to bottom? I couldn´t find the Skyrim 2020 Parallax 8.0 version. Installed an old one flying ariunt the hd. MO says v1.6. At least this causes no issues. is this file anywere provided? thanks again and thanks for help. Edited August 4, 2021 by Alarich79

The widget is lovely, the lock-on seems to work fine and moving in 360 with this mod is cool. Almost like other 3rd person camera games.

This looks like it will take forever This is the way of using modded Bethesda games - it takes weeks to study guides, decide what incompatible clusters of mods to use, scout for the latest patch esp in the threads, learn to use tools like Bodyslide, generate xEdit and Bash Patches, creating an immersive world with xLodGen and DynDoLod. If you're playing the game longer than you're modding it (or if you're playing it at all), you're doing something wrong. Yes, at some points one might think "Well, why are people doing these step steps all over again, why doesn't someone do it once and then upload a torrent for the MO2 mods folder (maybe excluding the largest bsa)"? Could it be a better world if this time would be spent helping your neigbor or elderly ladies across the street? But you'd miss the community experience, getting to know acronyms for the mods, the whole joy of discovery and learning for yourself. Plus circumventing the modding sites is a big no-no. In the description it mentions support for both keyboard+mouse and controller, so I think you'll be fine (especially once the author or other users tweak things for maximum smoothness).
SirCarcass Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 I'm messing around with TDM with a gamepad and it mostly works, but I didn't see a way to lock on with it. I've installed Gamepad++ and am in the process of setting it up. So far I find it much better than the vanilla controller support, but I'm still working through some small issues with figuring everything out. My hope is to set up a controller profile where I can have a button for dodge roll and a button for target lock.
trgdolors Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 (edited) Thanks, akadeadpool! The Unique Items Tweaks looks interesting. On the mod page it suggests not including it in the Bashed Patch. That makes me wonder what other mods should not be included in Bashed Patches. I have been just dumping everything in there. Any opinions? I have Arena in the load order and have tested it a little already. So far; so good. As for the True Directional Movement, what a smash hit! I uninstalled TK Dodge for now, and am starting over with my save. I am waiting for the new dodge mod from Distar (I have no idea when it will be out). I will see how it goes, then choose which dodge mod to go with from there. Also, I saw in the comments that the author of TDM said that Movement Behavior Overhaul (MBO) has issues and is not recommended. It seems to be working for me, but I wonder if someone will come up with a better procedural leaning solution. Edited August 4, 2021 by trgdolors

I mean, you can if you want to but... you will still turn them all back off and click one by one so they are in order anyway. If a mod that is on the list has a patch and you are told to get the patch, yes you CAN merge the mod and patch, It's separated so any updates to a main mod but you really need that patch too you are not installing the patch, and you remembering what the name of the patch was. And there are 2 mods (scoped bows and elemental arrows that the patch from scoped bows goes into elemental arrows. much easier to name it scoped bows elemental patch and put it under elemental arrows so it overwrites the hkx file in elemental arrows Since i'm a dumbass and don't know what a LOT is, um, mostly it's your choice on fomod installs, there are a few that you need to be very specific in your choices on install, and those should be covered. 4
SirCarcass Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 (edited) Any idea what might cause freezes in player homes? I've had this issue with the Lakeview house and now with Proudspire Manor in Solitude. It only happened with Lakeview after I started adding wings, and I fully upgraded Proudspire before ever going in it, so I don't know if it would have done it before. Audio still plays and I can see the first frame of the fade in but the game itself seems frozen, though task manager shows it using CPU. Letting it go for several minutes doesn't change anything. Edit: I think it might be related to having multiple followers. Telling them to wait outside let me load in. Edited August 5, 2021 by SirCarcass

Since this guide aims to create the most immersive game possible, MBO has a huge issue with some (I think all?) two-handed weapons, namely that the player's left hand is completely misaligned on the hilt. Flying in the air misaligned, in fact. It doesn't look like much when said like this, but it's really annoying. Like... uninstall-this-mod-once-you-see-it annoying. Mod author will not fix, blames an unrelated mod or some crap for the issue, but it is traceable to his mod and his mod only, that has been verified. Not recommended. Unfortunately, I don't know of any alternatives. Edited August 5, 2021 by maltodaxtrin

akadeadpool Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 (edited) Quote MBO has a huge issue with some (I think all?) two-handed weapons, namely that the player's left hand is completely misaligned on the hilt. Holy shit, so that mod's the culprit. Edit: Found a fix in mod comment Quote I figured out how to fix the misaligned greatsword grip for female characters! Download the mod manually and extract it to a temporary folder. Then find the file called "#mvbo$28.txt" and open it. After it is open find the line "<hkparam name="twistAngle">10.000000</hkparam>" and change the 10.000000 to 0.000000. After you make that change, zip the mod folder back into an archive and install it as you would normally. This will fix the misaligned left hand seen on female characters when using greatswords. Hopefully this helps! Amazing mod btw! Going to test it now. Edited August 5, 2021 by akadeadpool 2

The good part of MBO is really good, but... I've been messing around with MBO and I found a solution that is satisfactory to me. I don't like Distar's patch because it leaves on the possibility of attack while jumping... (A good thing, you may say, but not for me, since this behaviour messes A LOT with other combat mods that I have installed, including SkySA by Distar himself). So, I post here what I posted in the page of MBO on Nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/38950?tab=posts "In case anyone is interested in using only the behavior and not the animations (or the .esp for that matter), you can delete everything except the Nemesis_Engine folder and meshes/actors/character/behaviors folders. Then run Nemesis ticking the MBO option." This method only uses the leaning behaviour, without the animations (which are too clunky for my taste) and it is more suitable for different sets of animations that you may use. The leaning is also subtler and smoother, in my opinion. It works very well with TDM. About True Directional Movement, I just love this mod. I think it is a game changer. Unfortunately, it doesn't work well with GoToBed (actually, it breaks GoToBed completely in my case). But Ershin is working on it, so hopefully he'll come with a solution. (He has posted four updates of TDM in three days, so he's been working like crazy... If you like his mod don't forget to endorse). Oh... about the solution for the misalignement of the hand when using two handed weapons with MBO that posted @akadeadpool, I tried it and, although not perfect, it worked very well for me. maltodaxtrin Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 And yet the MBO mod author continues to parrot his crap about his mod not being the culprit, even after people deliberately fix the bug inside his own mod's files... Some people are just something else Massive kudos to the user who found this fix, and... isn't it hilarious how simple it is? Lmao!! Will definitely have to try TDM + MBO (only behavior) and see if it results in something great

trgdolors Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Akadeadpool, I have had some weirdness with SKSE mods where they don't all work together, but I can't figure out the culprit. Just can't get them all to work at the same time. If you figure it out, let us know! I am starting on the MBO fixes now. Thanks so much to you all!
wollboi Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Wondering if anyone has played around with DynDOLOD 3.0 yet? @Alarich79 - Not sure what you're referring to with LOTs. - Generally, I would only merge the ones that the list says to merge. Sometimes the mod will release a patch that the author will say to merge into the main mod, which is the only time I would ever merge anything the list doesn't explicitly say to merge. - Pretty much. That's what I do when I play with my load order (usually only between different characters). Just make sure you follow along with the list as you re-check them to make sure you have the plugins in order. The text in purple is what to look for the most. - Unfortunately I don't think so. Aylis has been working on their FO4 list for a while so I don't think they have had the time to look at the new Skyrim 2020 updates. I think you'd be mostly okay just installing the new version. I would say get Skyrim 2018's architecture and Skyrim 2020's "Other" (part 3) and you should probably be good. I think that's the route Aylis will use. But I haven't tested it out myself, so I don't know. It's not going to mess your game up though. You might get a purple texture pop up, in which case I'd ask that you let us know. @akadeadpool I use Improved Camera and Alternate Conversations Camera together (in that load order), but no SmoothCam. 1

For some reason, with all 3 installed, I got ctd on main menu but if I disable any one of them and keep other 2, my game works. Edit: Seems weird. With only 2/3 above mods installed, my game CTD on menu if I add any other SKSE mods to my modlist. Is there anything interesting in skse64.log? You also might try a 1-2, then 1-3, then 2-3 test to narrow the mods causing it if you haven't already. If it is, not sure what's to be done about it. Sorry can't add much more. pl/post what you find out. I recently gave up testing OStim (again) over camera issues, they're a bitch...
Rey_Vegeta Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 So, I reinstalled this guide after changing GPU and I have noticed that the face expressions during sex scenes aren´t smooth unlike last time I have this build configured. And after finishing the sex scene the character has a stupid expression with the mouth half opened instead of reverting to the default one. Has there been any update or change in the mods that plays a part into it?
