akadeadpool Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Does everyone's Mannequin Manipulator work perfectly? In my game, the mannequins stay put but due to idle DAR, they took various idle pose whenever I enter room.
ascendentkunglao Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 (edited) @wollboi @trgdolors any advice on the new embers XD and the fact all my torches are missing the appropriate texture they are all just purple...lol I tried going to SSEdit and checking to see if something was overwriting them but there seems to be nothing at all just the basic torch from skyrim.esm. @Aylis Well wishes to you, I hope you can recover from that nerve issue. That sounds like hell. Take care and thank you again for creating and fostering such a healthy environment to a game we all love. edit: make sure to follow wollboi's plugins and patches a few pages back. ascendentkunglao Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Anyone can give me tips to fix the guards armor I find myself using the console command resetinventory, a little too much for my liking...
ascendentkunglao Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 On 7/28/2021 at 3:11 PM, Temphyx said: Okay, I'll weigh in, but @maltodaxtrin may have diff and better advice. There are many ways to use BodySlide and much of it depends on what you want to happen. I agree with your first list except I'd reverse the last two steps and run all addon armors in BS after re-installing SRA. As to your questions: 1) I would Only check 3BA, maybe 3BBB, and only CBBE Vanilla Outfits either with or without physics. Your choice, I use custom groups so ymmv. 2) To run those bodyslide files: Run your custom preset against the CBBE 3BBB Body Amazing body, check Build Morphs, press Control, click Batch Build. You may get a list of parallel options you'll need to select through. Do so and click ok/build. Now, because you held Control, BS will give you the Explorer window where you must decide where you want the files to go. It will likely start in the Game folder - Do Not Put Them There. Navigate up over and down into the MO2 folder and locate Overwrite - put them there. When it's done you can close BS and create a mod by right clicking Overwrite. Give it a CBBE Vanilla sort of name and move it somewhere above SRA and other replacers and activate it. Reinstall SRA. You might want to empty your original BS Output folder at this point if you haven't already 3) Restart BS, Uncheck the CBBE Vanillla group and select all of your other armor addon groups including SRA and run another Batch Build without hitting Ctrl. If you set things up right before, the output should go to your BS Output folder. Personally, I then hit the center Build button to make sure I have the femalebody_0/1.nifs. Also, 3BBB asks you to run yet another batch build, first unchecking All and only checking the five 'CBBE 3BBB Amazing SMP Objects' - again, assuming you are using some version of that body. You may want to run other single Builds if you are using, for example, an addon schlong with a custom preset or something similar. 4) Finally, after all this, you still aren't done. Since you've changed so much of the game, you should rerun FNIS and Nemesis per the usual drill and then, finally, redo the Bashed Patch to correct the leveled lists. Are you sorry you asked yet? ? As i said there are variations to some of this, but the general workflow pretty much holds. All the best.. Is this the way to address the guards wearing different armors every now and then?

Might depend on how/or if you want to manage the vanilla outfits. You could first try @akadeadpool's quick fix further down that page and see if that helps: Open your Bodyslide Output folder in MO2 (bottom left), conflicts tab, look through the files that it overwrites (top pane), and Rclick>hide the ones that overwrite GAR. If the problem persists, not sure what... EDIT: Looking further at this, I'm even less sure what's going on. You prob shouldn't see any overwrites to GAR in the output. You may need to reinstall GAR and rerun bodyslide, or there may be a problem with how you're running bodyslide. It kind of sounds like some armors are getting skipped, but you say you can reset them, so hmm...dunno. Did you merge in the GAR BS files when you installed it? Sorry for the confusion. slough_monster Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 @jaeos I feel like an idiot. Somehow the target game for Outfit studio was Skyrim (not SSE), while the directory was SSE. 1
wollboi Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 Sooooo ... Figured I'd mess with the hottest mod at the moment. True Directional Movement is interesting, but has a pretty steep learning curve IMO. Not anything technical or anything, but it is making me have to relearn how to play Skyrim. Some might find it interesting and want to check it out. Pros: + Lock on works flawlessly. If you're using a controller, it's basically just like Dark Souls. Move the right stick to switch between targets. For mage characters it's amazing. Haven't tried it with an archer or melee fighter. The MCM lets you configure different settings if you feel like you're cheating, but I'd say that it doesn't feel that way. I seem to hit as many shots as you would without the mod, it just makes it more convenient. + Works well with the list other than the necessary changes below. Has a built-in patch that needs to be checked when running Nemesis. + Boss health bar gives it a great Dark Souls feeling, and makes you feel like you're up against the master of the dungeon. Adds level indicators for all enemies a la MoreHUD. All of this is customizable and can be removed entirely through the MCM. + It adds a bonus head-tracking feature that works surprisingly well, and feels much more natural than PC Head Tracking. Your character looks left and right as the camera moves, but also turns their head to face speaking characters. The motion is a lot less jerky than PCHT. + You can sprint while moving the camera around. This may sound like a simple thing, but it has already saved my ass once and made me realize it's a feature I never knew I needed until now. Supposed to do the same for horses, but I haven't tested that yet. Cons: - If you're using a controller, you'll want to get something like Gamepad++ to add custom maps to make use of the target feature. I've set mine to up on the D-pad and it seems to work fine. That mod in itself takes a lot of getting used to. An alternative to using Gamepad++ is to set it to the interact button ("A" on an Xbox controller), but I found that gave me trouble. It would deselect sometimes, especially against enemies like Spriggans. It also interfered with Immersive Interactions. Gamepad++ seems like the way to go, but it is taking some getting used to. Altering the button layouts I've used for ten years is pretty confusing, but won't be an issue after a few days of playing I think. - It doesn't work with TK Dodge. Or rather it does, but about 50% of the time you'll end up rolling in a direction you don't want to, or rolling but not actually dodging at all. I switched to Ultimate Dodge Mod and it works very well, although I do NOT like the dodge animations. There are some different animations that I think use DAR that will look nicer, but I haven't tried them yet. It has a built-in Dark-Souls-like i-frame system that is customizable through the MCM that is VERY nice. But I'm about 50/50 on which one I like better, TK or UDM. - It just feels ... off. You can just not hit the lock-on button and it will play like regular Skyrim, so it's 100% optional. But something about it feels weird. I'll play with it a few more days and that feeling might go away. I installed it, tested it, uninstalled it, tested that it still worked, and reinstalled it with no issues, so it can go on an existing save with no problems and there are no problems removing it. TL;DR - Check it out if you feel like playing Eldin Ring early. @slough_monster We've all done it, don't sweat it. 2
trgdolors Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 @wollboi I am liking TDM, though I play with mouse/keyboard. I uninstalled TK Dodge before this playthrough. I am waiting for Distar's dodge mod to decide which way to go. Apparently Distar's mod is in beta for his Patreons now. There is also the patch mod to get TK Dodge to work that akadeadpool mentioned a few pages back. Dodge mods are so tricky. So I appreciate your input on that. As for the lock-on, the 1.2.1 update supposedly addresses some issues, but I haven't tried it in game yet.
Krimzen Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 Hello. For 'High Poly NPC Overhaul - Skyrim Special Edition 2.0' do I also specifically need a version 2.0 of the mod? The latest version on the mod page is 2.04. The guide has instructions under the High Poly NPC Overhaul patches stating, “This patch is for HPNPC Overhaul 2.0 only”. Are they still compatible with the latest 2.04 version of the mod?
wollboi Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 @trgdolors Ooh, thanks, that's good to know about the TK Dodge patch. I just realized mapping dodge to the sneak button is about a million times more annoying than I'd thought.

Slayer128 Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 (edited) Newbie here. I used to download mods on Skyrim:LE with NMM and LOOT on my old crappy laptop, and now I'm looking to download CODEX's SSE release and follow the page 1 guide made by Aylis. Is there a video guide of this somewhere, or do I just have to make sure that I follow the modlist? Also, is it okay if I don't get DYNDOLOD and xLODgen? Installing those two seem pretty intimidating. Thanks. Edited August 12, 2021 by Slayer128

TL;DR - Check it out if you feel like playing Eldin Ring early. @slough_monster We've all done it, don't sweat it. I've been using TDM since it was out and I like it a lot. I don't know how it plays with the vanilla combat, though. I use SkySA Combat, Animation Motion Revolution, Arena Movement - MCO, Elder Souls - The collection (for SkySA combat animations) and Smooth Camera with this preset (Synergy Preset). I also use a buch of other combat mods working around SkySA, but these are what can define the experience with TDM, I think. I say that I don't know how it works with vanilla combat because I think you need something to make the attacks really committed, with animations that make your character and NPC's stick with them. That's what SkySA does. Dark Soul or Hellblade style of combat, because the camera with TDM works in a very similar way to those games. (I've tried archery and melee combat, but I confess I haven't tried magic). For the dodge I use The Ultimate Dodge Mod (Reanimated) for the NPC's and Distar's Dodge Mod for the player. Distar's Dodge is still a WIP but it works wonderfully already; it doesn't have any input lag whatsoever since it doesn't use any script. Right now it's only available for patrons, but I think he will eventually make it public on Nexus. This dodge mod works flawlessly with TDM, because both authors work together. In my opinion, this dodge mod is a totally different animal than what we have seen until now. The only problem that I have experience so far with TDM was the way it handled the AI animations when your character has to do something like going to bed (GoToBed mod) or play an animation like leaning in an enchanting table. But it seems to be fixed in its last update. (I've been testing and GoToBed works fine now and other animations too). In short, with those mods I mentioned and TDM, Skyrim combat feels totally different. I love it, but that's my own taste. Maybe it's nobody else's xD.

I encourage you to try. It is very worth it and if you follow Aylis' instructions very carefully you'll be fine and thankful. I did and I had never modded before I stumbled over this monster of a guide... and it worked. If I could do it, anyone can. Believe me, it is worth the try, and we are here to help what we can. 1
wollboi Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 @Slayer128 I second Thardrim. If you're using this list, you're actually apt to run into problems not using DynDOLOD since so many additional mods and patches from this list need it. DynDOLOD seems intimidating, but really isn't. Watch Gamerpoet's excellent video on how to use it, then go back and follow Aylis's instructions, maybe peeking back to the video every once in a while. It seems a lot harder to use than it really is. Just remember to grab Aylis's files and run the cache in between each step (like the list instructs). 2

Not really, i would for sure get the dyndolod, When i need to redo the entire list i download by section mostly. Biggest part is making sure they are in order of list and DO NOT USE LOOT. Doesn't matter if you download them all, 2 at a time, 10 at a time, 20, you are still looking at around 14 hours for about 80% of the modlist to get close to the full experience. If you absolutely just want to hurry up and get playing skip all of the texture mods except the first 2, get some of the armor replacers like guards armor replacer, etc. but when you go back into the game and some stuff is jarring because the quality is so low compared to the new stuff, just remeber.. i warned you. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Edited August 13, 2021 by jaeos 1
