I also approve of this idea. The game *needs* more thematic content with purpose....and a scenario like this fits the bill.

Hello! So, Angrim's Apprentice and Devious Cidhna were often a part of my load order for Skyrim and I quite enjoyed those mods (played DC more than AA though), so naturally I was quite glad to see stobor's mod for F4, especially since F4 is somewhat lacking in content compared to Skyrim. However, for the life of me, I was unable to get the mod to work. So, here is papyrus log with "verbose" set to true. During the duration of the log I get the note from Jun Long, dialogue with him is fine, I read the note. Then I dismiss Dogmeat, drop all the weapons I have onto ground in Sanctuary Hills, set forceDisarm to true, fast travel somewhere, then do coc to Corvega Assembly Plant interior, wait there one minute real time and approach raiders in stealth, exit stealth, and wait for the raider to smack me with a bat, as if she has absolutely no conception of this mod's existance. (maybe I did coc to Corvega immediately though, don't recall, but that was certainly what I did in previous attempts before setting verbose to true)

Now there were also numerous attempts to start the mod at USAF Satellite station, before even going to Concord, and there it occured to me that maybe Horizon or some quest mod does some changes with raider factions or such, so I turned them off - to no avail. It was afterwards that I tried actually to start raider encounters after getting the note from Jun. Didn't try though disabling Horizon or anything else after getting the note from Jun.

F4se installed, game was launched always through f4se loader. I use MO2. Load order is included under spoiler.

If only the mystery could be solved...

I play with Horizon and just starting there, all my Horizon (except for the loot respawn - at very top), is all the way at the bottom.  So  you have Horizon at the top of load order as well as below.

 

As far as the rest of it, I have everything above horizon (the main bottom section) such as the animations, etc... the actual AAF mods like raider's pet is after Horizon... it's like this, Horizon could overwrite everything... or you have AAF mods do their part over the Horizon - unless you make patches... 

 

First, I would fix your load order on Horizon, then AAF/AAF mods.

Just from a quick peak at you log, that save is porked. A lot of mods are not even loading.

So, like John said, clean up your load order and then start a new game to work the bugs out.

That log has no mention of Raider Pet, so far as I can see.  Even on default verbosity, there should be some messages in there, if it covered the events you describe.  So that tells me that either the log is from the wrong session, or things are totally borked (in some new and novel way).

 

If Jun actually delivered the note, then the quest is running and basic scripting is working (i.e. the scripts must have run, or the AddItem call couldn't occur).  Yet there's no evidence of that in your logs.  Something is very fishy there.

 

Other trouble-shooting suggestions: confirm that AAF itself is working, by running a basic animation (something as simple as a solo pose) through the AAF wizard.  But that's probably not relevant to why the raiders are still hostile - AAF would only come into play after capture.

No, the log should be from the right session. Anyway, it seems that things were totally borked in a somewhat old way - messed up load order, as pointed out by MrCruelJohn and Izzyknows. I moved Horizon esps to the top and changed a few other things in it, and so far everything seems to be working as intended. Thanks very much everyone! I don't have much practice with modding F4, so I just used LOOT without any second thoughts or Google.

Spanish language translation files uploaded, courtesy of @JBpy.  No change to the core mod, just the updated string files for Spanish; these need to be installed on top of the original v1_3, and replace/override the original Spanish strings.

That's a really, really, really, REALLY LOW effort bug report. If that's everything you have to say about your issue, it means you didn't read the mod description at all and didn't even attempt to start the scenario. Go back to the first page and read it. Talking with Jun isn't supposed to start a quest and you aren't limited to Corvega, you can waltz into another marked raider camp, maybe excluding some scripted ones like the school one.

 

As for myself, I'm about to start the scenario, so far without issues. I wanted to ask if there are any updates planned for it? I enjoyed Devious Cidna, so I wonder if it's going to recieve as much additional content.

I doubt it's going to sprawl quite as much as Devious Cidhna did beyond its original concept, but yes - it will get more content.

Okay, first up: if you want help and support, the above responses are really poor ways to go about asking for it. People who make mods, you know, make mods. While there are many creative mod makers out there, none of them to date have indicated they are mind readers. Support is a two way street. You need to provide relevant information. 

 

The mod page itself gives directions on how to use the mod, and begin the scenario which is free form: 

 

"This mod provides a scenario for role-playing a Raider captive.  The quest is basically free-form, few quest markers or fixed objectives; it can be started anytime, simply by putting all your weapons in storage and walking into a Raider camp.  There's a demanding note (found and delivered by Jun Long in Sanctuary) providing some extra motivation, but that's entirely optional.

 

The first raider who greets you will take various items (bobby pins, caps, DD keys) and lock you in a collar - with an explosive attached.  If you run away, or just stay away from Raider encounters for too long (20 min.), it will kill you... though there's a chance it'll misfire and spare your life.  If you manage to remove the collar, or equip a weapon, the raiders will turn hostile again (grenades or mines don't count, if you equip them while sneaking)."

 

So, perhaps start with the following: 

 

1. How are you attempting to start the quest? 

2. Have you stored away all weapons, including grenades, etc? This does not mean 'not equipped' it means not on your character at all....your character literally has no weapons in your inventory. 

3. Are you approaching Corvega completely unarmed and approaching a raider? 

4. If, when approaching a raider, completely unarmed and with everything stored elsewhere...what happens? 

5. Do you have the prerequisites installed, as defined on the mod page? 

 

The more information you provide, the more helpful people can be. Simply responding with "Not working" is, in the eyes of 99% of everyone....not a real support request. It's a status report. We get it. It's not working for you. But in order to provide support, detail is required...

 

You have to give information to people, in order for them to try and help....but nobody has time to whip out the Ouija board to ask those in the afterlife if they have a notion as to what your specific problem might be. 

 

Give some info. People will be more than happy to help. But "Not working" is actually Not Helpful.

1. I meet Jun and go to the Corvega (the quest itself does not appear).

2. Yes, my inventory was empty.

3. Yes.

4. They start shooting.

5. Yes. I have all the necessary mods installed.

There is no quest that appears. The mod is free form.

I'd do a couple things here. 

 

1. crack open the console>  sqv RaiderPetDialogueQuest

 

This will tell you if the quest is actually running. 

 

2. Start a papyrus log, and drop the file in a reply.

Unfortunately "nothing happened" is not how the console works. It will always give a response, even if that response is that the command failed. Please post a screenshot of your console right after you entered the command.

"nothing happened" is not really an answer here. The console should have given SOME response upon using that command.

No. They're not. 

 

But, you really shouldn't be throwing stones here. People tried to help you, but you have been minimally invested in trying to get any support...you really shouldn't be surprised by this response....which is more than likely born out of frustration from having their time wasted.
