By default, AAF brings up a user interface in the upper right of the screen, when you hit the 'Home' key. If that's not working, then I can pretty much guarantee nothing else in this mod will. There are tools on AAF's Discord server (linked from its Nexus page, see the '#tools' channel) that can help diagnose issues of that sort. For Papyrus logs, just search the web for instructions.
Diapers Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Nice job looking forward to trying the update, wondering if its a good idea to start new game.
stobor Posted March 30, 2019 Author Posted March 30, 2019 Generally, I start a new game if I'm making a bunch of updates all at once. But as I said in the release announcement, this update does not require a clean save.

galgat Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Thank you so much for staying on this one, it is a fun diversion I like to play with some times. ( normally reverting to a previous save after wards, but I find it very fun ) Please keep up the good work.
daeguy Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 So it turns out that I needed to load the loose files for F4SE and use that launcher. Now its running as it should, except that it appears to be using the base models in their underwear. Is that right by default? Do I need some other mod for better models?
stobor Posted March 30, 2019 Author Posted March 30, 2019 2 hours ago, daeguy said: So it turns out that I needed to load the loose files for F4SE and use that launcher. Yes, without that no script that depends on F4SE will load (including both AAF and this mod). 2 hours ago, daeguy said: Do I need some other mod for better models? For females? CBBE and the associated BodySlide & Outfit Studio tools (all available on Nexus). Install them, run BodySlide to generate a nude body (and ideally, generate other outfits to match that body). For males, it's been long enough since I set it up that I don't recall the steps. The various HOWTO descriptions for AAF should take care of it. There are further optional steps for creatures, ghouls, etc. though those aren't currently used in this mod.

Do I need some other mod for better models? this is probably one of the better AAF guild's i have found if there is a newer or better one I have not stubled onto it yet. https://www.loverslab.com/topic/110138-aaf-for-beginners-step-by-step-on-hold/ It is not perfect, and has some minor flaw's, but over all it will get your installation much closer to right, the order that everything is installed in is pretty spot on, I would swap number 21, and 22 around as the patch actually should see the original leito animations already installed during its fomod install. Also be sure to watch closely in each fomod, and only check the boxes for things that you know you have installed. Quite often Fomods have check boxes for things that you do not have installed, and if you check them, and do not have them you will get error's.
MrCruelJohn Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 So, I am confused... I have been playing today with 1.3 that was posted earlier - I installed it this morning at 1041am CDST … and now you post it again? Is this really 1.4 or is the version I have is bad? Or just ignore and you reposted for some reason? I just got to Red Rocket in Lexington... let me know before I play further. Thanks, John
stobor Posted March 31, 2019 Author Posted March 31, 2019 Ignore it, it counts uploaded screenshots as "updates".

Ah, okay... that's kind of weird... not counting only file uploads or version numbers.. Good to know... my OCD requires I start a new game... lol... though I am pretty good at speed runs now... John
izzyknows Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 @stobor Tested on a new run. New version is working a LOT smoother! As far as the core functionality goes, it's working very well (no console required) and just needs a couple little tweaks. Lucky's energy level needs toned down a little. (serious Jet Junkie) He was constantly running everywhere, and after finishing with the Rival Boss, he completed the Find Lucky stage without having to talk to him. He even randomly fired off his dialogue & scenes without having to manually start them, which IMO, was VERY kool! Him being hyper didn't break anything.. which is a good sign the core quest is solid. Next:IF your owning Boss is a female, the after dance scene will not fire. No FFMMM animations. (you can just talk to her and it continues like normal) The Boss needs to "follow" the PC to an open space a LOT closer. Actually had to chase them down & spam E. It would also be much better if the whole scene (after finding an open space) played out like the Rival Boss scene. Manually talk once... scenes/dialogue play out. Actually, all the multi tiered scenes should be like that. The collar "misfire" with the Boss was really weird. LOL And: Any NPC with a gun drawn ie: after a fight, enemy, Jealousy, "the new one" or just a patrolling Guard, will only play the first animation in a staged scene... they never put the gun away. EgoBallistic does something in Violate to fix that. Force disarm or change state? Also, after a "staged" fight.. they should go back to idle/relax state. Threat has been removed... chill out. hehehe Anyway.. still a lot of runs to do to test out the new branches. Awesome work!!!
daeguy Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 @stobor @galgat Thanks all for your help. I was able to get everything up and running.

(you can just talk to her and it continues like normal) OK, that's easily fixable. I'll just drop her from the scene and keep using the other spectators. If all the optional aliases filled, I'll even have one NPC left over. 59 minutes ago, izzyknows said: The Boss needs to "follow" the PC to an open space a LOT closer. Yeah, I've had a frustrating time with that. The 'follow' package isn't as close as I'd like, and the 'stand and face' package sometimes is too close (spectators standing practically on top of the character). I'll keep tinkering with it. I resorted to 'manually talk to the boss for each step' in that scene because I kept running into problems with the greeting AI behaving erratically. When it works, it makes for better pacing than the manual activation - but when it doesn't, players tend to think the quest has stalled. I'll ask EgoBallistic about the mechanism to stand them down after aggro. Though it's kinda suitable when the raiders randomly pop off shots at imagined sounds... Glad it's working better for you. ? 1
stobor Posted March 31, 2019 Author Posted March 31, 2019 @izzyknows: One of the things that I think will help a lot with the pacing of the quest is the overhaul I did to the mini-quest selection mechanism. The old one tended to repeat certain tasks a lot (which could get tedious), even though there were other scenes that hadn't been used yet. The new setup is cleaner, though it still retains a bit of random variation to keep things from falling into a rut. One thing I'm still working on is a greater variety of repeatable scenes. 1

GoldenRain Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 If any of you are having troubles with clothes or items staying on your PC or with the enemy holding weapons during sex I have the answer provided by (crap run hamster run) well my hamster wont tell me.XRemoves everything except ring female N maleX AAF_equipmentSetData.xml *Delete the X's and everything in between before dropping in your AAF folder. I renamed it just in case. I also made it so that your wedding ring doesn't unequip during sex. 1

If anything I offered helped you I am glad, I know getting AAF and most of it's needed animations, and such working can be a real pain. It is nice once it all starts to work though.

There seems to always be a "spectator" and In my twisted mind.. the Boss should always be the spectator, as he's giving his crew a little entertainment for all their hard raiding. LOL Yes, the mini quests are sooooooo much smoother, cleaner and down right FUN. Defiantly on the right track there! On a side note.. not of importance.. but interesting. If you enter the Combat Zone collared or without weapons (captive faction) Tommy & Cait will be hostile until you pick up and equip a weapon. I found it odd they were hostile to the captive faction. But Mirelurk Queens aren't! That was fun having her help me clean house. LOL

Tanglin Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 I've completed Lucky's quest with the collar. This is where I should be plotting my escape, as there's no more to the quest line, right? I'm only getting the repeatable duct tape quest and the "go to an open area" quest now.
stobor Posted April 1, 2019 Author Posted April 1, 2019 Correct, the repeatable stuff is the only thing left, no more progress to be made.
Tanglin Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 11 minutes ago, stobor said: Correct, the repeatable stuff is the only thing left, no more progress to be made. Is there a way for Nora to be to the Boss the way the Dragonborn was to Madanach in your Skyrim mod? A permanent sex slave to that particular group of raiders?
stobor Posted April 1, 2019 Author Posted April 1, 2019 38 minutes ago, Tanglin said: Is there a way for Nora to be to the Boss the way the Dragonborn was to Madanach in your Skyrim mod? A permanent sex slave to that particular group of raiders? Sort of. Once you're most of the way through Lucky's quest, regardless of how it ends, that raider camp becomes a permanent 'home base'. If you approach it again, after your first escape, as long as you're wearing a collar and you don't have a weapon equipped, they'll react as if you'd never left. Basically, you've got the freedom to move about, but you're still "theirs". If the boss died, then there won't be anyone to restart the repeatable mini-quests; if he lived, they'll pick up again. But I haven't given the boss any followup topics, the way Madanach had in the Druadach Redoubt scenes after Cidhna Mine. I might do more with that in future - and the outcomes would most likely vary depending on how Lucky's scheme played out. NOTE: You don't have to put your weapons in storage, the way you did to originally start the mod. You just have to unequip your primary weapon (grenades can remain equipped, WeaponTypeUnarmed is also still permitted). I think I mentioned this in the change log, but I didn't especially highlight it. Hope this explanation is clearer. 1
