"invisible sexy time" is usually caused by an outdated addon; this includes things such as outdated race support, any external futa addons, and mods you wouldn't expect to break sexbound like venusbm, so try double checking to see if any of those are causing a problem

if that doesn't work, locate your starbound.log in Starbound\storage (this file right here, not starbound.log.1 or anything else) and either attach it to your post or upload its contents to pastebin or a functional equivalent and someone will look at it to diagnose the problem (PLEASE DO NOT POST THE RAW TEXT)

i was able to find the problem, im still not sure which mod was out of date but its fixed, thank you for trying to help me tho

NPC's will do it as soon as the "baby is ready", as in, timer runs down, pop. Players will be given a prompt as to where they want to do it, so if you don't want to give birth in the middle of a dungeon, bossfight, or just over a lava pit, you can choose "Not right now", and it'll pop up later.

When the game mentions 8 days, for example, does it follow IRL day cycle or in-game day/night cycle? And do I have to be planetside for NPCs to give birth, or is there any other method for NPCs to give birth?

I apologize if I seem ignorant, I couldn't find an in-depth guide to SxB's features ^^'

I'm writing a guide on the Sexbound Wiki to address your questions.

Hello, I'm not sure where to ask this as the other thread (https://www.loverslab.com/topic/86889-starbound-modding-guide-add-support-to-sexbound-api-for-custom-species/page/5/) is quite old, if needed I'll delete this post.

However, I have a question regarding the expressions used during the various sex animations. For some reason, the emote that plays resets to the human counterpart, causing a graphic issue due to the different base spritesheet color.

I have made sure (I hope) that I didn't mess up the custom species' ID or anything similar and I checked other species' sexbound mods to make sure I wasn't missing any files and found nothing, so I'm pretty much stuck now. Perhaps there's an updated template?

What governs which emotes are played? Could I just disable emotes being played for my race?

Thanks in advance and sorry for asking here if it's the wrong place!

Hello again, after a week of having the mod installed after getting my character pregnant basically right away.. (for my install birth was set to 7 days) I saw that message asking if I wanted to put off the birth, and never got the message again.  Was on the ship when I got the message.  Now when I use the pregnancy test it says I have 66527638 real life days - or - I will give birth at 6:48AM..  but it always says 6:48.  Did I mess up by closing the game and reopening before giving birth in that state?   There are a bunch of logs, the log1 file is the one I posted before now, the newest is here.  What the heck is going on?

edit addition:

Looked at the wiki and it does answer some questions, but also raises more!  When you mention "default humanoid sprites" does that mean there is a basic one that controls the others which I have not seen yet?  I have managed to modify the sprites for each race with the Enhanced Nudity mod.  This mod has me intrigued, I'm gonna dig around a little, might make me pick up LUA code again :P

So i have the steam version of starbound but everytime i launch the game with sexbound installed manually and via a loader, the game continues to crash does anyone else have this issue? And if you've fixed it how? because ive gotten the game to work without sexbound but i dont know what's causing the start up crashes.

The mod creator stated that you had to use the apple of discord from the "bow of aphrodite" mod.  something about there not being a "vanilla" sexbound way of doing it?  I would assume that would not disclude file editing, but as that was not mentioned I wouldn't try it.  Plus the mod gives you some kind of quest line to complete, yay content!

The response is going to be "starbound log or nada" or something along those lines.  Find it in the storage folder of your game install. can confirm it works with my game, but I just loaded it manually by dragging the .pak in to the mod folder.  Someone here might know something about it, what loader are you using?

And to both of you, double check you have the most up to date versions of any mods :)

Hmm... The pregnancy extension caused by the prompt that you mentioned may still use the old method, and as such, it used the time Relative to where you were, and depending on how your ship is parked, it will be in the twilight zone of time and space... Thus relativity breaks. That said, if Jumping between sectors still breaks time and causes instant births, that could be helpful. It is sadly becoming time to get a "Instant birth pill" just for such occasions, as a fail-safe...

I opened the wiki and Ctrl-F'd looking for "Humanoid" and uh... i still don't understand the question. "There is a basic one that controls the others"? The one ring to rule them all?

... Well, i'll be honest, just don't... There's not much to Starbound's mod installation, and while launchers CAN be convenient, there is no Launcher with a built-in HUB for all mods, workshop, Nexus, Loverslab, etc, so you'll be manually downloading either way. You can do as the person below your post mentions and send the log, as JimmyChanga did, which will tell me what manner of fumbling your launcher did, or you can just manually install, which is honestly safer and less wonky on the long run. Usually it's because the mod (Usually the UNPAK verison/ SRC version) is installed improperly that this happens.

Alternatively, if that's not what you meant by launcher, and you're just using Steam to launch it, then yeah, all i can say is Log or double check the install for basic proofing: Mod goes into mods folder, all inside it's own little folder, neatly organized and not spilled into the mods folder, and also making sure it's not a folder within a folder. General rule of thumb is that it needs to be "/mods/<Sexbound Folder>/<Sexbound Files>", and you know it's the mod's files when you see "sexbound.config" among other such files.

stuff

quickly so you can go to bed, Locuturus mentioned building a wiki to explain pregnancy, I looked in to it, and on the pregnancy guide page it says "Q: Why does an entity no longer look pregnant outside of having sex?

A: It's too difficult to display the characters looking pregnant outside of having sex. All the in-game clothing would have to be modified to be fitted to the pregnant tummies of humanoid type NPCs. It requires too much work, and the default humanoid sprites of player characters cannot be modified either." <- That's what I meant.

now about my bug issue, I dont understand what you mean and it may just be due to the hour, but I should probably mention I used the "Go fuck yourself" mod to possibly become pregnant.  it wasnt a short term effect though like I thought it might be and one week later the counter had, well, counted down.  But an anti-abortion pill would be neat to have besides, lol.  maybe I could set my clock to 6,652,7638 days in the future to force it to give birth anyway?  would my clock go that far? lol.

according to this website, I can expect the birth at.. 184,167 AD in february.

Good luck! But for anyone else reading this reply. I want to be clear this user is joking. It'd only be like after customizing the pregnant configuration file to have very large numbers in the Trimester Count and Length values. ?

P.S. If you're not joking, then you have to disable OS Time until your character can give birth. This might be an old bug from a previous version not saving the pregnancy with the correct birth date time.

It looks like... You have a ton of mods. Their names aren't listed because the game doesn't load that far, but it does mention a butt-ton of Workshop mods by ID...

And lemme guess. <Typing> Yep. You have both Frackin' Races and Frackin' Universe. They made a switch a while back, where FR is inside of FU now, and using both just bricks the game in more ways than one. I didn't even see Sexbound in your mods, it's almost like people come here for support instead of Sexbound lmao

yup! noticed the guide and it is much appreciated.  I didn't change the trimester count or length, just some weird bug when saying "not now"  I'm going to set the length value to ingame 5 minutes and see what happens.

I'll note that currently there is no way to stop a male crew member from.. drastically increasing my ship's population, though it's good they will just be NPCs and not crew members.  Any news on some kind of auto-condom or something, like an anti-Statue-of-Dibella?  That and not having my crew fraternizing with the enemy on tables while I'm fighting for my life.. seems to have broken the AI once in the midikong mission as well, which is the mission accessed from the SAIL (AVIAN for me!) terminal.  Again only because I have natural cycles for hornyness, which could potentially be classified as "not your problem" :P

Finally, dont know what's going on but my impression is that some internet trolls have something against a porn mod for a pixel space adventure game, which is kind of weird lol.. my condolences for the unwanted attention :/

Posted

I'm going to find out the hard way what happens when you set the trimester length to a small fraction(.05), can you hear the rapid fire birthing action?!  I will put Xenomorphs to shame, kek

(shameful edit: I also made sure to set "useOSTimeForPregnancies" : false)

Unfortunately because I had one male crew member, I am about to have 5 new insta-adults popping in to existence on my ship, like I didnt have a hard enough time before getting at all my cargo containers...  I'll have to trap them in a box or something.

edit: ah ok, need to modify my specific pregnancy, time to go diving!  And remember to set the trimesters back to a normal time, since that would be potentially catastrophic, lol.

Spoiler

edit2: Hmm.. I've picked up from reading this forum that the sexbound pregnancy adds something to the .player file I think, which acts as a set of variables for pregnancy..  First thing's first I need to find out what the heck all these extra characters are when loading in to notepad++, I heard something about exporting the file with CMD which sounds fun.  Doing a quick search for a modding handbook.. working on a batch file to do all that typing for me, meeh.

And an update on the bug: I set the time per trimester to .05 days and could no longer check my pregnancy status with the tool, but after changing it back to 2 and three got the birth popup.  Unfortunately I could not actually accept the popup as it would keep dismissing and reappearing without spawning any spawn.  Declining allowed the cycle to end, but now back to around 6M days of waiting for birth.  The hunt for exportion continues.

edit3: got it exported, looking now for anything that might be related to SxB.  Also it took me a little bit, but I remembered to mention the clever nod to your mod you added to the background of space, how on earth did you do that?  And I'll just put the file up here in case there's something interesting in it for any of your purposes, as interestingly it says "pregnant:false" right near the top line.  Curious, since obviously there is an effect on my character in game indicating pregnancy.

edit4: that bastard!  I now know who the father is, and just a quick FYI it would be neat to have ultrasound or something to tell species of parent.. but anywho: https://i.imgur.com/n3cAsUp.png

Never before heard of alternative to the pump and run, since this nutmidge is probably the same one that caused my initial bug of warping back to the ship and then falling to the death barrier :|

Ok probably final update for the night, for some reason the recompiler has issue with line 119 char 24, which has to do with the duration of the pregnant status effect, which is infinite.. interesting.  Is infinite length status effects not a base game compatible arg?  why would it refuse to compile??  How would it have gotten in there in the first place???  So many questions..

final edit: if you don't want to read that mess here is a TLDR:  I set useOS time, but birth is still crazy days away.  tried changing day count per trimester but that didn't seem to work at all and I couldnt check how long till birth.  Decided to export playerfile and see what was up.  Found the issue (I think) which was that "birthOSTime" : was some crazy large number.  Now I cant recompile the player file because apparently "inf" isnt a supported variable, according to google.  dunno

First off, am I correct in assuming that the loader you mentioned is the steam mod list you have there? Personally I have no experience with the starbound workshop, but I wouldn't imagine steam would make the mods have that weird proprietary format and stick them in a different folder forcing you to export them.. right?  anywho the question you just asked was already answered by red3dred:

But I'll only tell you the answer more explicitly if you promise to install sexbound D:<

edit1: Interesting, I can't seem to get the workshop items I'm using to test to actually download.  I know there isnt supposed to be a trick, but I guess we'll have to rely on others to help you out at least on that specific aspect of your issue.  But I can at least confirm that the workshop items do infact go in to a special folder inside of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content" By default anyway.  Just in the workshop\content folder where your steam install is.

I feel my question about editing the code of the Big Beast Cage went unanswered. Instead of quoting my previous post here, I'll instead make a TLDR of it since I have other questions to ask.

TLDR: how can one edit the actors' size from gigantic to normal for when they have sex in the Big Beast Cage? And is it possible to make it support three actors instead of two?

I kinda already answered my last question on my own time, though I felt like asking the three actors support again since I just updated Sexbound to the more recent update. Sorry if asking the question again seems rude, I felt it was necessary to ask again after waiting for a few days on the response.

Aside from that I have more questions to ask. How do I obtain the Empty Jar to craft the objects that uses either the Li'l Horny Gnome or Li'l Horny Fairy? Speaking of Li'l Horny Gnome/Fairy, how do I obtain them to craft the object with the Empty Jar? I tried desecrating an underground gnome town and was unable to find either of the two, mostly the Gnome.

I should head out now. Thank you in advance for responding.

well to answer your last question first: https://wiki.sexboundapi.com/wiki/Item:Gnome_in_a_Jar

To answer your first, I'm going to do a pretty hacky thing to try and enable 3actor and I guess by extension normal sized actors, lets see if it works...

update: not right yet for sure, since it seems like there is only a 2actor script, meaning that this manyactor script might have something to do with it..?  I know modding is fine and all, but I wonder how much reverse engineering the developer would condone, lol.  Digging in here gives me a greater appreciation of the work that has gone in to this though, there is quite a lot in here. The folder count at the very least is quite impressive!

first off:

second off: Then I shall tell you the secret of the FU modpack.. to the best of my knowledge, Frackin Races is obsolete and messes with Frackin Universe.  so remove races and see what happens.  Also mind filling me in on how long it took you to get the subscribed items to install?

Third off: when it comes time to install the sexbound mods, just slap the unpak'ed folder or the .pak files into the mod folder, that should work as long as there are no incompatibilities.  though judging on the number of mods you are trying to install, I think FR and FU are just the tip of the incompatibility iceberg.  I didnt look at the log file so Im going of of red3dred here, but as he mentioned FU as a problem I'd say start with a fix for that.

To answer you, yes, i'd recommend removing Frackin' Races and trying again, there are quite a few FR related mods that also may cause isssues, but as is, your game doesn't start and the issue is related to "Load order"; A mod is telling the game it should load before something that also wants to load before it, and since i keep up with the FU bug report section, i saw the same issue there. If your game still doesn't load then, i'd recommend double-checking your collection there, as lots of mods are incompatible with FU, and they update their "No-no list" frequently.

.pak files aren't new or proprietary to Starbound, their compression is, somewhat, but not even that unique. That's why when people open the sexbound.pak file in notepad, and change values there, they assume things will work, because scripts and configs are mostly completely readable inside the .pak. But yeah, they aren't extracted to use. All Steam does for Starbound is download them, put them in a folder, and then tell the game "Load the contents of this folder".

You can go to the folder you mentioned there, followed by "211820", Starbound's Steam App ID, and then each numbered folder is the mod's workshop ID. Inside there is the Mod's file, usually "contents.pak".

Well, i would answer if i had a answer, but i haven't messed with the 4.0 files yet, have been working on other things. I would assume the logic for that is in the object's "AnimationCustom" section.
