zwdragonbone8314 Posted March 14, 2025 Posted March 14, 2025 Hi, I just try the lastest version of the mod in AE. Everything is working fine up until I'm doing the "Taking Control" quest. The quest is totally broken after my character go to the Laura's shop. I think the stage is around 1200. None of the stage is working. No response from other NPC, like Laura. Now I'm stuck in this quest.

I'm thrilled that the main storyline update has been completed, but I'm currently encountering an issue. During the quest "Origin" (that should be the name, as my native language isn't English), when I'm required to touch the totem to travel to the past, the game crashes immediately after I interact with it. I understand this might not be an issue with the mod itself, but rather caused by the complexities of my game setup. However, since I didn't encounter this problem during my previous playthrough, I wanted to ask if there are any viable solutions - perhaps a console command to skip this specific quest segment? I'm really eager to experience the remaining storyline. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! I think I’ve identified the problem—the issue lies with an NPC named Ranar. I’m not sure why he’s causing the game to crash, but after disabling him and using console commands to skip the quest stages that require interacting with him, the game started functioning normally again. I hope this helps anyone experiencing the same issue.

Guest Posted March 26, 2025 Posted March 26, 2025 Hi! Can't remember the end of the quest note for skiping main quest... I started a new game and wanted to play with totium collar since the beginning ^_^. Spoiler the steps were: - pick the key in shop (done). - pick the stash in Solitude (done). - ¿talk with xayah? (She doesn't speak. I'm missing something?)

Jim55 Posted April 1, 2025 Posted April 1, 2025 I'm utterly stuck. I am during "taking control" on my 3rd try and every time I am stuck on the same thing. After playing Karo and Debauchery or whatever his name is, I am tasked with bring Ademar the correct bag. Well, correct or not, Ademar has no dialogue, just the standard "What?" from Skyrim. Wrong bag, right bag, doesn't matter. Stuck to quest stage 306. He had his dialogue when he told me to get them. Is there ANY way around this? At this point, I'll take any advancing, even with loss of content. I just want to power through to end content, I have had enough running around the slaver cave. I'm running a rolling save and I'm almost close to losing my pre-quest point. My run around frolicking time is running out. Things already done: I have gained access to the log, read it because karo forgets to put my blindfold on. I have the key from the table I have played the Karo minigame 27 has locker herself in the cage Ademar told me to get the bag, I have, hopefully the correct one. I have one bag in inventory, but it's a dummy, it doesn't let you pick up another. Talked to everyone, exhausted dialogue. Got into storage and picked up a letter from Sloan. People are talking about skips? I love skips.
musimaster Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Need help! I have been trying to make this mod work for a week now without success. When I say it doesn't work, I mean completely... not a bug in a quest or something like that. The shop does not appear at all. My understanding is that it should be near Whiterun Stables (but across the road?), but I can't find it there. I am using Skryrim VR. I have seen older posts indicating that it should be possible to use this mod with VR. Has this changed with more recent updates? I am using Mod Organizer 2. However, when that didn't work, I also tried copying the files directly in the Skyrim data directory. That also didn't work. I am using all the listed requirements, with one possible exception: I am using Devious Devices SE instead of the LE that is listed in the requirements. Do I need to have the LE edition (the mod does say that it is compatible with both LE and SE games)? If so, what happens if I have both SE and LE versions of Devious Devices on my game? Is that going to cause problems? (Relatively new to modding, so wasn't willing to just try this on my own without advice.) Or is there another possible reason why the shop might not be present? Would it be a load order issue? Where should this mod go in load order? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Installing stuff manually inbetween is prone to fail, especially if you're new to modding. There should be threads on how to set up MO2 - I never got that working and use Vortex instead. 2 hours ago, musimaster said: I am using all the listed requirements, with one possible exception: I am using Devious Devices SE instead of the LE that is listed in the requirements. No, when you're on SE, you need the SE verison of DD, which does work with the SE version of this mod. (at least for AE it does, I never had the SE game) Generic advice: Install one mod at a time, and get that running. This typically means start a new game, get out of the Skyrim Unbound anteroom, or the LAL prison cell recpectively, look if the game runs or crashes. Make a hard save (not all mods require a brand new save, most do with a save where this mod has never been present. They tell you when it's not the case) Exit to desktop, install the next mod on your list (typically you have a plethora af required mods to get the one you actually wanted running). Resume, see if it crashes - exit, next mod. DDs always need the start-save-exit-resume cycle to get up and running on a new character, no exceptions. 4

Where should this mod go in load order? The general rule for any mod is that it must load after the requirements. (and their requirements), but i think your mod manager is usually intelligent enough to figure that out. If the mod doesn't load unfortunately it could be a problem with any of your requirements, so as Captain says, best idea is to try loading each mod one at a time. On 4/2/2025 at 2:19 PM, musimaster said: I am using Skryrim VR. I have seen older posts indicating that it should be possible to use this mod with VR. Has this changed with more recent updates? Using VR makes things extra complicated because SE users already have the SE/AE complications to deal with and now you have three complications between SE/AE and VR. Any one of the requirements could potentially be a problem, especially if they use DLL files. Honestly, I'd recommend you try getting the game working with ONLY SE or AE first and then switch to VR. It is bad enough the first time, without worrying about VR. FYI: you may well need BEES at some point, but I assume you have been following a VR specific guide somewhere. I wrote a topic that describes getting DD and SL mods working in Skyrim VR. It's old, but you might find it helpful. Skyrim SL and DD mods *do* work in Skyrim VR, but the installations are slightly different. Also...don't use MO2 (at least for VR). I know a lot of people like it, and it's better for mod authoring than Vortex - but I've had way fewer problems with VMM.

IIRC (it's been quite a while since I played through the quest) you should be blindfolded, that's why you cannot tell yourself if you've got the right papers. And no, setstage etc. doesn't work with Laura's mod.
Seph64 Posted April 8, 2025 Posted April 8, 2025 Any idea if future versions of the mod will include more devices to buy from the shop (including furniture)? Seems like a lot of the stuff I'd want is absent from Laura's shop.

Or for testing stages of the whole mod. Shouldn't a gag produce [hngmf] dialogue? Or do you mean the quest checks internally if I am in a gagged or blindfolded stage? I don't even know how I got in the state I am in. I think Karo equips me with a different set of gear. I can't even find a detailed walkthrough, I only found one, it's in German and machine translated and it has weird tangents in places and plain 1 sentence quests in others. Is there one that allows me to check step by step that I'm not missing anything obvious? From memory, I am tasked with reading the ledger and it requires me to not be blindfolded so I do the Karo bit and I am no longer blindfolded. Would console-ing my gag off or on help? Or is it internal? ETA: The walkthrough reads the ledger with the blindfold on. About 98% sure I couldn't. Edited April 8, 2025 by Jim55

Sorry, it's been 16 months and I played this quest only once, I don't really remember why you cannot read the documents yourself, if it's because you're blindfolded or because you're in an armbinder or s/th like that. Ademar should be able to communicate with you, and as you've already come this far, I don't think that some other mod interferes just now, and not earlier. Spoiler The documents you're after are in a small strongbox in the shelf at the bottom of the stairs. Straight ahead when coming from the tavern, resp. on the left hand side when coming downstairs.

Seph64 Posted April 11, 2025 Posted April 11, 2025 There's a lot of stuff, but I don't remember if they are available in LE or specific to SE/NG editions. Elbow Shackles, Boxbinders, the more ancient looking Iron restraints, Contraptions/Furniture. Some of them I can only get via cheating them in (Elbow Shackles, Boxbinders, Pony Bit Gags), others I have to go to the Bondage inn from Cuirsed Loot to get (Contraptions). If most of these could be acquired from this mod, I would be able to uninstall Cursed Loot entirely (some of the stuff from DCL is annoying, I'd rather try alternatives like Deviously Enchanted Chests). I realize some of the stuff may not actually be able to add your mod because they might be DD SE/NG specific. Anyway, it's not something you have to do if you think it'd be too much trouble.

I lost the save, because it's been like 10 days and it rolled over with my new char, but I had a hard save close by, before the quest. Beelined the shop, took the quest, beelined the jade meeting, get captured. Nice reference there. So, get captured, talk to Ademar, he says get docs Then Karo, he indeed swaps your blind fold, go read the documents. I go to the box to get the docs, can't, Karo is still there. Go create a diversion. Karo leaves, I go and grab the docs and ... can't. "Can't grab the documents while wearing an armbinder". Well, this is new. Last time I just grabbed them and Ademar was mute. So I go to Ademar, he says "wanna switch?" and I do, which allows me to pick up docs and, long story short, I am free. Well, out of the cave. I suspect what happened is I found something sharp. I think DCL has a feature where if you are in an armbinder and you search a container there's a chance you find something sharp and that converts you to free hands. I am almost certain I had 2 hands not an armbinder the last time and I *definitely* picked up the bag at this point in the story. I remember my last barrier was Karo leaving. And I distinctly remember opening chests while following Karo to the doggy day out, and being unsettled that they all seem to contain nothing but documents. Oh BTW, found a bug. When you go to take the bag, the door closes, Jade says "Sorry, you or me" and you bust the door down and Jade falls back. At this point, you can just turn around and click the bag again. Door slams, jade jumps back up and says "Sorry, you or me". I've done this 4-5 times. Eventually, she reaches the "I'm not a threat" stage and it stops working and you are softlocked. Easy to fix, though, either tcl out or jumpheight. 8 hours ago, Laura said: > A walkthrough is a good idea actually. Cool. > You're right, I'm not much of a programmer but I do know my basics. A lot of things happen outside of the regular objectives you do and they're sometimes non-linear. I guess the point of a quest based progression, even in large jumps, would be to bypass this. For example, a checkpoint where I leave the cave would be appreciated. Bug or no bug, I will inevitably converge on escaping wearing Evelyn gear and a suit, what's the harm in a command that just teleports me there, unequips everything, equips Evelyn gear and releases control? Another example in this quest line would be a teleport to barrel. Go to Ivarstead, get lost, bugged, whatever, just go to stage 2 which teleports you in front of the barrel, possibly in possession of the diary pages if they matter. If it's not too hard to do, and nothing important happens, another checkpoint would be in front of the shack with Jade in tow. Not because it takes a long time, but because it's where the story "narrows". It can be based around quests or commands, but quests already exist. Chainbeasts does it with MCM and a series of buttons you can use to re-skip to your place if you ever get progress nuked. 8 hours ago, Laura said: > What would you like to me to add? I know this wasn't directed at me, but hey, opinions are free: 1. Cool kinky gear. Dollmaker sells some armor rated catsuits, but they aren't improvable or customizable. A mini set of gear that is improvable/enchantable would be great. I'd like a black suit for archery, gold for magic, stuff like that. I've made one myself but I am nowhere near confident enough to publish anything. I just patched a gold suit to be armor and be improvable/enchantable. It would be nice to be well done though. 2. More radiant quests. As much as I like the main story stuff, it's heavy and long and a general commitment. Shorter missions are always fun to have. Like deliveries, gear acquisition, stuff like that. I could work in the shop for exclusive gear. Time locked on gear that you wear but has debuffs or weird effects, like the shop commercial but with difficulty levels, when you complete the level you get an even difficult suit, possibly a difficult task to go with it. 3. I bet there's something under that shop that we're not allowed in for. I bet Laura has carefully crafted, own use rooms where _stuff_ is going on that only people well versed in magic can do. With access to mind control and all the gear in the world, who knows what's down there. (let me in! Let me iiiiiiiin!) I should leave imagining stuff to you.

And (#3) I didn't get to try the last update, I've been stuck for weeks on a single quest. Fortunately, I'm already on a new save, so I might be running through it again. I'll keep notes this time. I saw the changelog though. By the way, the mod is done, it was smooth sailing all the way Spoiler got a letter from the author, very nice. At the end, Spoiler Xaya says "I know what I have to do" then walks to the fish seller and turns off. Is that supposed to happen? I mean, the quest is done, so I assume so. Spoiler Also, what would happen if I touched the Thotium again? Given what happened with Jade last time. I wanted to try but didn't want to risc saving and loading mid cutscene. Anyway. It's hard to rank mods, seeing how some can't exist without the others, but Laura's is definitely as high as my top allows. 10/10 will spend a night in a cell again for mistaken identity. 1
