What's the name of the file you tried to install? Have you tried to redownload it in case your first copy was corrupted somehow? Also check your antivirus/malware scanner notifications to make sure it didn't get defanged or something.

I had no problem installing the current version with Vortex, and it's usually pickier than MO2 about such things...

The name of the file was AAF_Violate_V1.60 Beta 3 FOMOD.7zip.

I set it up to install via Mod Organizer 2(I went to the menu and chose add mod from archive).

I did redownload, yes. And there is nothing in my Antivirus notifications from today.

Are you sure it's "7zip" and not just "7z" (I have the latter). If you have the 7-Zip utility installed, you should be able to open that archive yourself and inspect its contents. It should have a "base" directory with an AAF_Violate.esp plugin file inside.

Were you able to install earlier versions of Violate in MO2? I'm not an MO2 user, but maybe there's something you have to do to engage its FOMOD installer routines?

It is .7z, not 7zip.

I have never installed this mod before. I have installed other AAF mods from LoversLab using MO2 before, though.

AAF Violate is packaged as a FOMOD.  That error message means you are trying to do a manual installation through MO2.  You cannot do that; you need to install it as a FOMOD, during installation you will see a window pop up with the different options you can enable or disable when installing Violate (DLC support, FCOM support, more feral animations, etc.)

You probably need to start over:

  1. Deactivate and delete the mod from MO2. Both from the left side and the downloads section, if it is still there.
  2. Open the folder where the Violate 7z archive file is.
  3. In MO2, on the right side, select the Downloads tab.
  4. Drag the 7z archive into the MO2 Downloads section. (Do not unzip)
  5. Right click it and select query info to get the metadata.
  6. Then double click it to install.
  7. In the popup window, select the options you want to install. (Do not select manual at the bottom of this window)

Amazes me that after so many years MO2 is still so janky and unintuitive to use.

Is it possible for ONLY the companions to be violates? I set "Player can be" to false, and companions to true, but they never get violated.
I've tried experimenting with the setting, and found that if "Player can be" is false, but you still have a surrender chance, you (and your companions) will surrender, and ALL get violated.
Is there another setting, or what *should* my settings be so that I the player am never violated, but can see my companions being violated.

Eh. The MO2 vs Vortex/NMM debate is akin to the debate over vi/vim vs pico/nano , and which is best as a text editor.

MO2 is user friendly, it's just picky about who it's friends are. I suppose, having used MO2 now for so long now though...I'm biased. ;)

Yes, it is possible.  You do that by setting "Player can be violated" to OFF and "Followers can be violated" to ON.

I have never seen that.  The surrender chance and the "Player can be" settings are totally independent of one another and are checked at different times.

Just the two settings above, and like I said make sure your follower gender settings are correct, and of course your followers have to be a supported race.

AAF couldn't find an animation that matches the actors.  If you have Female Aggressors in Gangbangs enabled, you need to turn that option off or install the XML add-on I pasted a couple of pages back.

Check your AAF debug log for details, but it looks like you have no animations suitable for that specific combination of actors. This is common, for example, if the scene would be MFF since there aren't many (or any) animations out there fitting those parameters, particularly if aggressive tag is also being set. You can fiddle with the allowed aggressor genders (I personally play with that set to males only), or turning off threesomes support, or turning off use of the aggressive tag, or some combination of those, or installing a patch which adds more MFF animations by setting some of the male positions to female with a strap-on.

I don't get query info as an option. When I drag and drop the zip into MO2, it goes straight to an installation window.

In addition, I get these errors -

I don't want these optional components but I get the error anyway. I can't choose what to install in the installation window that pops up.

That looks like MO2 is doing the right thing. The "requirements" it logged warnings about are requirements to make it possible to turn on the related checkboxes in the installer menu. As you can see, it greyed them out because their dependencies are missing. Since you don't want those optional features, it's fine that you lack the plugins they would need.

Hey I was just wondering how I get out of the handcuffs after combat surrender and rapins, my girl is running around with a buttplug and is cuffed and I cant get out of the cuffs, its sort of funny and realistic but I end up just having to reload, any help would be great

update 0.37

A manual update procedure is REQUIRED, available in the MCM menu, to update the script version and enable automatic updates.
+ add version comparsion mechanism that will relaunch quests with new variables and make version updates smoother.
+ some surrender hotkey issues fixed
+ add distance check for companions surrendering (can be tune via MCM menu)
+ fix for surrender dialog (i broke it in one of previous version)

about manul procedure: you need to do it outside battle or you can be violated when update is in progress and it will broke scripts.

this procudere also doing quests reset - if someone going wrong you can reset it AFTER all scenes ends

and bad news is

because Violate originaly designed for using only with player all other options implemented with some kind of "crutch"... and need to fully rewrite scripts to implement correctly companions and other NPC surrendering and scenes with  more complex logic...

Hey you seem to know alot, after the assault so to speak, my girl is running around with a plug up her butt and cuffed and I cant get out of them, so I run around until i get killed, I want the quest to get my stuff back but I end up getting killed every time how do I get out of the cuffs? Its funny and realistic but you know, the quest of revenge is pretty cool.

If the handcuffs are from the Real Handcuffs mod (you try to open your Pip-Boy and end up with a struggle or investigate the lock menu instead) then you can try to struggle out of them, try to pick the lock with hairpins in your inventory, or hunt for a key in containers. If you're near an owned workshop, you can use it to cut the chain so you're basically wearing a fashionable pair of handcuff bracelets until you find a way out of them, but at least you can do stuff again.

Nope, it's definitely possible. It's literally happening to me right now.

I attacked Cait while she was just a settler at Red Rocket, she is a companion, just a dismissed one.
I was trying to reset her animation (some bug after being crippled). She aggroed and once my health was low enough, I surrendered to her.

I think it has to do with the Aggressor settings. If they are ALL set to OFF, I have never been aggressed, nor has any companion.
I changed them to the settings below recently to see if that was why my companions have never been targeted.
They still have not.. only myself, and enemies. Enemy surrender is working.

Player can be violated: OFF
Health for surrender: 30

Cripple surrender: OFF
Chance to surrender: 100

Followers can be violated: ON

Follower gender: Female

Companion distance 3000

Aggressors: Both
+Humans
+Synths
+Super mutants

+Ferals

+Deathclaws

+Robots

It works fine for me. Check your papyrus.log for possible errors. Also what do you mean by "attempt the ending?" Like, your attackers tell you they have more in store for you, but then when the screen goes dark it never comes back rather than showing you on some torture device? You presumably have AAF installed and working or else you'd be lacking sex animations from violate scenes. The Bad End Animations description also recommends GrayUser's NSFW Sound Pack, but doesn't say it requires anything else.

I think we are having a terminology problem.  Let me clarify:

in Violate, "surrender" means to stop combat, raise your hands, and put yourself at the mercy of your enemies.  Only the player and enemies can surrender.  It is not possible for companions (by which I mean current, active companions who are following you) to surrender independently of the player.  Companions will only surrender when the player does.

"Violated" means to be raped after surrendering. The "Player can be violated" and "Companions can be violated" options determine whether they will be raped by the aggressors you surrendered to.

If you set "Player can be violated" to OFF and the "Companions can be violated" to ON, then once you surrender you will be forced to watch your aggressors rape your companions, but you the player won't be raped.

Right.  Aggressor settings control what types of NPCs the player can surrender to and/or be raped by.  If you set them all to OFF you will never surrender.
