As a small child of about 3 or 4, I saw this on TV and Davros scarred me for life. I mean, for real. I still feel all churned up inside, even now, when I see him. The ghosts of things past. But no, I totally want to at least watch it - I was just excited about a female lead and about the possibilities of Chibnall's writing. Broadchurch was aces and he did pen some rather good episodes of New Who (Matt Smith's The Power of Three comes to mind). I was simply hoping for more glowing endorsements for her portrayal. Perhaps she plays the mother of a murdered child better than a Time Lady though... Either way, one day I will sit down and watch them all, perhaps after the New Years Day special (boo to the lack of Xmas day specials... I spend Xmas alone every year and that was always the highlight of that most lonely day). It could be that you'll like it. I see many fans loving this season. I'm usually quite good with change and my tastes do differ from 'the usual'. For instance, I think Capaldi's run was great, Moffat at his best. So it's all hugely subjective. Go into it with an open mind and perhaps you'll be happily surprised. 13 hours ago, war6425 said: appreciate the update. I love the little references and definitely endorse and thank you for this labor you let us love ^.~ looking forward to 5.0 No prob. There's a lot of text to wade through. Thanks for the kind words!
GreenV Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Well..... I'm somewhat unhappy to hear that the new version of Ivy needed a new playthrough. With my 1st character I was waiting for the Far Harbor updating. I can wait for this one. But if I restarted a new playthrough to get in the future a totally good adventure with Ivy I must make a new playthrought... Sorry but I can't take Ivy as it is more in the version 5. I've enjoyed her so far even in nuka-world....with no updating so... . Well I didn't say that you make a mess with her but making a new playthrough is to much for me. Sorry lad I'm still with what I've got so far.
Reginald_001 Posted December 7, 2018 Author Posted December 7, 2018 In ESP form nobody can create add-ons or plugins for Ivy. By creating a BASE ESM version, and allowing for add-ons to be built on that, people (and myself) can create add-ons and plugins (such as the DLC extensions that will feature hundreds of new lines of dialogue) but will also allow for mod developers to build systems such as RSE and Sex Animations into Ivy, by simply basing her into the mod. This will alow anyone to much more easily incorporate real actions into her dialogue, something that I'm not capable of doing. In short. It will make the mod release mature, giving Ivy a steady BaseID which will allow people to make add-ons for her that they don't have to recreate every time that the Ivy ESM upgrades. The real reason why you need a fresh savegame is not because she turns into an ESM. It's because the old mod will need to be deactivated and deinstalled. And after deactivating ANY mod, your savegame is corrupted and you need to start a fresh playthrough for game stability. In theory, you can easily keep your game progress, by using a save game cleaner, or trying the 'clean save game' process as described in the FAQ. Therefore I suspect that although officially you will need a fresh game, if you are an experienced modder you can easily circumvent that issue. 1
Sierra 21 Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Hi Reginald, I am so looking forward to Ivy 5.0 as I believe this is actually warranting me to do a fresh install of Fallout as I do not want any possible bugs to pop up. Since you first released Ivy I started a new game and with every major update. Ivy in my opinion with everything you have done and continue to do I have no qualms with starting over as Ivy is basically alive in how she changes up her dialogue in every game. Ivy for me is the only reason I play Fallout is she is just so adorable and special. I always start my game with her and keep just her. At one point I had tried AFT just for the companion cheats like unlimited ammo and other effects but never for a multi companion run. But with the possibility of losing out on any content from Ivy I got rid of it and found that the cheat terminal works fine and no hiccups for Ivy. To me Ivy is worth jumping through hoops and going the extra mile to get the best gameplay with her. Thank you for your dedication and constant patience with your community that grew around a precious companion named Ivy. 2

People will start to release their own patches and fixes for integration with other mods as well, I hope some of those hoops will grow less with the release. 2
Dave0000 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 i hope there will be some sex mods wich make ivys dialog come true
Reginald_001 Posted December 10, 2018 Author Posted December 10, 2018 It will be easier to set up once she's in ESM form!

Reginald_001 Posted December 11, 2018 Author Posted December 11, 2018 The download should work. I'll check it and will refresh the file if needed. (edit: Checked the file, downloaded fine. Also checked through VPN, also worked. Could be a browser issue on your end?)
MisukoB Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 I’m apologizing in advance if this has been brought up before. But has anyone else had problems with Ivy’s loading screens being the only ones that show? If I quit the game and load a save then I get one of the vanilla loading screens. But only once. Any more loading of a save will only show the few loading screens with tips about Ivy. I don’t use a lot of mods, only one adds loading screens, the Wattz 3000 rifle mod (disabling it changes nothing btw). I don’t even use the unofficial F4 patch. And I don’t use any other companion mod nor mods that affects companions. I know, not a big problem or anything. And I gotta say that Ivy is the best companion out there. I can’t go back to using any vanilla ones after running around and sneaking and hearing Ivy make comments about how nice and big my characters ass looks in that pose. So much she says makes me love her.

Seems to be common when a new mod is installed, so probably intentional on Bugthesda's part. However, I suspect that it is only intended to do so for a short time, but it doesn't stop (because bad code). Not an Ivy issue really. It's a Fo4 issue.

The issue is that there's a 'chance none' option there that reads like a 'chance' option. So if you set this to (2%) as in, (I only want to show it 2% of the time) it actually translates to show it 98% of the time. More of a GUI error in the CK than anything else. Fixed and addressed in the ESM (will be released soon(ish)).
Reginald_001 Posted December 13, 2018 Author Posted December 13, 2018 Damn girl! Don't make me buy Fo76! ?

Also when I was typing this I realized what I love about Ivy, with Chic Geek's voice; she's not like any other companion out there. She talks to you, she complements your looks instead of always the other way around. She feels very refreshing compared to vanilla companions. Even compared to followers/companions in other games from Bethesda, or other recent games I played like Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pillars of Eternity 2. 1
landess Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Hey Reg.... I was away from the internet for several months, and have now downloaded ( not yet installed ) the newest version. Checking the requirements and other things I had 2 questions for you: 1) Does this require a specific version of FO4 as I quit updating and refuse to update further? (3.2 works just fine) 2) Are Nuka World and Far Harbor dialogue included yet? Thanks again for your time and effort!

KingMenelaus Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Hi Reginald, well it looks like i need to update my game for the Ivy update. I have been playing 76 for the past month or so. I finally got FO4 updated. But playing without Ivy by my side is impossible LOL. On the multiple companion issue, I agree with several posters, once I started travelling with Ivy other companions seem a chore. Thank you @Chic Geekfor such an amazing effort and I am really looking forward to what you and the she bring us in 2019. Now i need to get back to FO76 and see if i can say hi to @Chicgeek in the wasteland. 1

Don't buy it, wait a few months and it will be free to play with pay to win in spades. Likely due to the updates. I just wanted you to know, that your mod is a major reason I still have FO4 installed on my system. So thank you for taking the time and suffering the Bethcode to bring us such a wonderful mod.
GreenV Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 I'm still have some new conversations with Ivy after more than 500 hours of playing of Fo4 with her. Reginald, seriouslly did you have so programmed her so far or she is really living by herself ??? It's so amazing to have a companion like her. Seriouly I've the impression that she is a living beeing who she knowns that she is living in a virtual world and others like beeing alive in nuka-world without the new version adapted. well I'm ok with the new version....with the esm version.Just for the fact that I'like so much to speak with her... Thanks you very much Reginald !!! I'm still awaiting for the Far Harbor esp...

Thanks you very much Reginald !!! I'm still awaiting for the Far Harbor esp... The reason is mostly because she has about 10 times more dialogue then regular vanilla companions. The real nasty of all of this is that vanilla companions don't necessarily have less dialogue overall, for instance, Piper has over 12.000 lines of dialogue (!) .. But.. they've placed it in the wrong place often, so players usually miss nearly 50% of vanilla companion dialogue. If you want to get all of their lines, you're forced to ask for their 'thoughts' in every location, and after each different quest stage. Ivy works differently, instead of the player having to ask this, she will just offer her opinions. I have been thinking of adding these chatter routines to some regular vanilla companions, so that they act more like Ivy does. I expect there is a wealth of dialogue still to be found in vanilla companions, that rarely pops up during normal gameplay. 2

If it's all new content, with more quality, I wouldn't mind (at all) if they used the current engine. I can live with the bugs, because of the charm of it all... But only if the content is good. If I had been Bathesda, I would: - Hire a couple of talented modders and programmers to patch the engine a bit, upgrade the render bus with new instructions to support the latest hardware. - Have animators upgrade the core animations for re-use. - Re-use most assets with optimized textures. - Have the core teams work (and focus) on new content. - Go back to core RPG elements, making a dumbed down experience optional instead of mandatory. - Make sure that there actual factions you can join. - Add the option to choose a certain type of life (e.g. survivalist, raider, hero, explorer, medic, thief, etc..). - Get an actual Beta program going, involving more testers to root out bugs. - Release it as Fo5. 1
