Necromancer's Chronicles: Chapter 2

Hello, dear readers.

The gods of inspiration (and general fear of Mistress Trinn) prompted me to write the second chapter rather quicker than usual. And of course I hurried to share it with you here. ☺️

Last time we saw good boy Arthur being handed over to a rather complex and slightly terrifying individual. As one of you accurately pointed out : let's see how long he lasts. ?

This is very interesting. I'm curious how this will play out... and the next training sessions. ?

Tana is my girl. She reminds me on Ivy who loves to be submissive when we have our Mistress/slave games :classic_blush:

I had a good laugh seeing racoon in Skyrim. Nicely done. :D

Mistress is very intelligent, cruel and hot. Again -Ivy. :D

Excellent episode Devianna. Thank you.

Damien is wholesome, he seems rather a friendly person.

Raccon was cute haha☺️

Seems you have a big cast to play in this story.

Look forward for more?

Glad you're enjoying it.

Lady Trinn does have quite a few things to teach to her new servants/assistants. ?

Hehe, yes, Tana is a very fun character.

And he's not just a simple raccoon - he's Brickelius! (yeah, ok, everyone kind of ignores it and just sees him as a talking fluffball ?)

Mistress Trinn really is both intimidating and beautiful.

Thank you for the kind comments, Elf Prince. ?

How did you do the hand blood stuff? Was that in game?

I’m really excited for Juniper’s training, but I’m thinking she probably has a good chance to get “stabbed” too... repeatedly... just not with a dagger?

Hand blood stuff is done with a mix of (very poor) Krita skills and beating up an innocent npc until they bleed in the proper direction for the screenshot.

(if you're not familiar with it - Krita is a free software similar to photoshop).

You have very interesting ideas about Juniper's training...veeeery interesting indeed. ?

Damien is such a sweetheart. ?

Well, as much of a sweetheart as a dremora warrior capable of mass massacre can get.

Brickelius is not cute! He's fearsome! He's cunning! He's...alright, he's cute. ?

You're right, I do have a rather large cast for this story, but they are all interesting characters and each have a role to play.

Happy you liked it. ?

Aww, thank you Wilson. Lady Trinn is certainly a somewhat complicated character and I'm glad to see that people like her. ☺️

There are big plans ahead for the story. ?

I'm sure this is not how he imagined his days as a priest would proceed, but it's certainly entertaining to watch. ?

And yes, the lessons that he'll get will cover many topics - some maybe even of carnal nature. ?

Thank you for the comments, Eva! ?

Two episodes in a raw ? Did Spy infect you with his hyperactivity virus ? :classic_biggrin:

Quite the interesting chapter here, with a good introduction to Trinn's subordinates and environment, and the Juniper and Arthur cards being placed into that. We also get a good sample of Trinn's personality, which is rather crude and brutal, but apparently never uselessly cruel, her cruelty being in fact lessons for her surroundings' sakes. Screens are as good as usual, though you had a bit of trouble with the hand stabbing one. The blood also was decent, though it ended better on the last hand screen than the first. Some bubbles might be a bit loaded however, but nothing serious. You've not got your colorful and conflicting team together, the only thing left fo us is to appreciate the next parts of the show !

I was inspired to write and to create! It was awful! ? (I'm joking, it was actually a lot of fun).

Ok, first the critique points:  That stabbing scene is still giving me an eye-twitch every time I see it. There are 300+ poses for cute girls doing naughty things, but nothing decent for a good old priest-stabbing scene. So I had to improvise. A lot. And let's face it, I can write (sort of), but I cannot do special effects for the life of me (yet), so it's a learning process. For the purposes of the story any time there's a gore scenario, just imagine something like that:

I'm not quite sure what you mean about the speech bubbles. Was there too much text or did I mess something up??

Now the story parts, yay! ? You are correct about Lady Trinn: she is brutal but normally there's always a reason for it. Aside from occasional cases when someone is just too annoying to be left alive, Trinn is reasonable and will not kill or torture small furry creatures and/or mortals for the sheer fun of it.  Of course her reasons might not be always understood by others, but that's a different story.

Colorful and conflicting team - that's a good description for that bunch. ? We will slowly learn what skills each of them possesses. (spoiler : Mr. Brick isn't just a fluffy and snarky. He has other talents as well. ?

Innocent NPCs have donated their blood willingly and were compensated for their work accordingly. They even signed contracts and stuff. ?

Author: Malicia, I'm starting to think you might make a very interesting apprentice for Lady Trinn. She can certainly teach you her favorite tea recipe and how to properly stab someone for insubordination.  Getting you a cute raccoon might be a bit of a problem though, but I'm sure we'll figure something out.

Still in love with hyperactive rabbits I see. ^^

We're all in the same boat here, Devianna (about screenarchering, not bunnies :classic_tongue:) : the more you confront yourself with difficulty, the better you get. But in that case, though the pose in itself is a bit strange, what makes the reader realize it are that Trin's eyes aren't really looking nor at Arthur, nor at his hand :

Spoiler

Necro-Ch2-Sc-54.jpg

I think you could've dodged that by zooming in in order to only get Trinn's torso, centering the image on the stabbed hand, and thus avoiding to show the more ambiguous parts of the pose. Another way could've been to use NiPoseOverride, but I'm not familiar with it, so I'm mostly into hiding misery at the moment. ^^

A bit... But honestly, there were only one or two overloaded bubbles, and it wasn't eye breaking. So it's fine.

I like that too about Lady Trinn how she so far almost seems like a comical character that’s supposed to be evil but could also have  like little animals scampering around and birds landing on her. Then she’ll suddenly siphon someone’s soul out with the same demeanor and it’s like ???

Animal souls aren't large/strong enough for Lady Trinn's needs, so little critters are safe around her. Mostly. (Ok, there was this one incident with the rooster who liked to get up at 5 in the morning and wake everyone up...he was made into a nice soup afterwards.) But of course, if there's a dire need for a soul and the only thing around is Bambi then deer stew for dinner it is. ?

Aww, the eyes were the only thing I liked about that screenshot. To me she seemed to be looking sort of both down and somewhere past Arthur. Something like "I'm doing what needs to be done. Either he learns this now or he'll be dead in the first actual battle." Maybe I should've added her thoughts there. I'll have to think on that. ?

As for doing it under a different angle - that's not a bad idea. I couldn't get any of the angles that would fit and the camera is really strange in that particular spot of the house.  Ugh, I'll just have to find better places to stage stabbing scenes in (that totally didn't sound like a line from a psychotic maniac planning his next murder spree).

Thank you for the advise! ?

Making soul gems? Commanding a succubus? She's no necromancer, she's a WoW Warlock! If she gets two more friends she can summon us to the raid!

I think Juniper is the most interesting character of the bunch, would like to see more of her (she also looks really familiar, are you using a follower from someone else on LL for her?)

I actually liked the stab pose. It would have been even better with her head upturned snootily since her off hand was already showing off.

I just realized that we are all discussing better ways to show a poor, innocent priest getting stabbed and people are suggesting their own versions of the scene! I don't think Arthur expected that kind of a reaction. ?

I can promise that this whole story is in no way related to the fact that I've played a demonology-specced undead warlock for longer than I should be admitting. Honest! For the Horde!!!..Ahem..who said that? ?

Juniper was created by the same author that made Alter Native's Amelie. She's a follower from nexus: Toccata

Maybe that's why she looks familiar? ? I don't know whether her modder is on LL as well.

Juni is certainly a fascinating girl and her reaction towards Lady Trinn is rather unusual (most people Don't seek out necromancers of their own volition).  She'll be sticking around so we will be seeing more of her soon. ?

Thank you, CrW ?. Somebody big will appear later on, but I do not think he can be classified as a plant-man. (this merry bunch does resemble a twisted version of the Guardians of the Galaxy, now that you mention it ?)

Work on chapter 3 is progressing steadily, so we'll see how things unfold soon ?.
