Edit Nevermind, i gave up. I'll go back to the unpatched version.

 

Hello everyone, let me just say that this is the best and hottest mod on Loverslab.

I have been a lurker here for a couple years and never had much issues with mods in general. I just had to fumble around, pray and slap my computer to for them work.

 

But i am ready to give up... i went from regular PO to POP and i can't make it work after a couple weeks of trying.

I purchased the DLCs for skyrim JUST to play this updated version of my favourite mod.

 

Could i get some help, please ?

 

My current issue :

When getting arrested, my character and the guard just stare each other's down after the dialogue. And i sometimes have the 'Not a viable captor' message.

@Inte gave me permission to port the mods to Skyrim SE.

 

Skyrim SE ports of SUM and POP are ready - I provided them to Inte, and I am waiting to hear back from Inte on adding the SE ports to the official mod pages.

 

I haven't heard from Inte since last month, so I am thinking that perhaps I should post them in comments to let people begin testing them.

I have permission to do the Skyrim SE conversions, but I do not have permission to post them on the mod pages. Only Inte can do that.

I left the ESM as Form 43. I typically leave things as Form 43 unless there is a reason to resave in 64-bit Creation Kit.

 

I made the following changes:

  • Edited iSUmMain.psc to avoid CTD when using a controller by commenting the 2 lines of code consisting of:  Input.TapKey(Input.GetMappedKey("Forward"))
  • Recompiled iSUmMain.psc to iSUmMain.pex
  • Changed the ESM to add missing weapon critical data, so that SSEEdit now shows zero errors.

 

Prison Overhaul Patched - POP 4.60 for Skyrim SE

I left the ESP as Form 43. I typically leave things as Form 43 unless there is a reason to resave in 64-bit Creation Kit.

 

I made the following changes:

  • Used Creation Kit to export the facegen files for the added NPCs (Jailer and Jaileress). I used my KSHair FaceGen Export Rig so the generated head meshes have KS Hairdos. Please note that KS Hairdos is not required because I have included copies of the relevant textures in the download package.
  • Edited xpoPatchesMain.psc to avoid CTD when using a controller by commenting the line of code consisting ofInput.TapKey(Input.GetMappedKey("Forward"))
  • Recompiled xpoPatchesMain.psc to xpoPatchesMain.pex

My Riften prison was broken. 

Parts of the room were turning on and off as I moved around, with areas not displaying unless I was inside them.

 

I tracked the problem down to edits in POP.

If I disabled POP, my prison was fine.

 

Looking in more detail, there are some hairy conflicts between POP, USLEEP, USCP, ELFX, ELFX Enhancer, and ELFX Hardcore.

 

This is stuff from Cells - Block 9 - Sub-Block 7 - RiftenJail01 - Persistent and Temporary.

Mainly room bounds and portals.

 

Simply letting POP win everything isn't the solution.

In that case, there's less flipping on and off, but you still can't see the prison from the entrance point just after the door where the guard needs to be persuaded, and instead get a lot of black.

If I let USCP win everything, then I end up with an OK prison but the big cell at the far end of the top floor doesn't render properly unless you're in it, and there are some flickering lights downstairs (with ELFX).

Letting USLEEP win is an option I haven't tried, as USCP is claiming to do a better job - possibly doesn't?

In that case there are records USLEEP leaves vanilla that USCP changes.

As for the ELFX changes ... and the hardcore changes ... it's hard to tell whether maybe they'd fix the flickering lights.

I think hardcore removes some torches from sconces, though you can replace them in-game.

 

The conflicts are so complex you can really only fix them in the CK where you can see what bound is what.

 

 

It would simplify merging considerably if the POP portal and room bound edits were made to match USLEEP or USCP (pick one).

My guess is that POP really only gives a properly rendering Riften prison in unpatched vanilla?

But really, who runs unpatched vanilla? Practically every ENB expects ELFX or less often ELE.

None suggest Enhancer, but that's not causing (m)any issues. I like how it looks with SURE, so I'm using it. It's getting overwritten by Hardcore anyway.

 

USLEEP has the essential fix for prison escape in it, so overwriting that seems questionable, though I'm unsure to what extent the cell edits are relevant to that fix.

 

 

It's taken me several hours today to get a somewhat tolerable prison, and it still needs more work, so it's not like these edits don't have consequences for players, and quite a few of them may be significantly non-essential from POP's perspective.

I love that there is an SE version posted here, but I still can't get this thing to work. It says that it needs DDe 4.6, but that is an LE version and the SE version of DDe hasn't been updated in years. If it has been I would love to have a link to where I can find it. Will it work anyway? Can anyone make an SE version of the current DDe?

Prison Overhaul Patched (POP) does not require Devious Devices Equip (DDE). POP can optionally integrate with DDE if POP discovers that DDE is also installed.

 

I have made a Skyrim SE conversion of DDE, but it suffers from the problem of DDE plug effects not working. I have asked for feedback in the DDE support forum as to whether plug effects are working for other folks using DDE on Skyrim LE.

 

I do not want to make my Skyrim SE port of DDE available until I get an answer about whether the DDE plug effects work or are broken in Skyrim LE, to let me know whether or not I broke them in my port.

It should be, as that is what I am doing, tho I am only using USLEEP from your list. Everything looks fine with that.

Yes, it does that for violent crimes of any kind.

Sometimes that happens when you have a lot of one item (usually gold, about 5 figures or more).

Still on DDf 4 and they work there. I'm yet to test them with DDf 5.

ELFX, ELFX - Enhancer, and ELFX - Hardcore make edits that aren't completely overridden by PoP.

Though ELFX itself doesn't cause any trouble.

And then there's USCP.

 

I've had issues with a few interior locations, but in most cases simply replacing ELFX - Hardcore edits with USLEEP makes things work again, even if not as "Hardcore" as intended.

 

RiftenJail01 is harder though, due to USCP.

USCP claims it diligently resolves a bunch of problems in USLEEP or unfixed by it.

I guess the USCP author didn't make all those edits because they're crazy, as I find USCP does seem to improve things until you mix in ELFX Enhancer and Hardcore.

 

However, USCP and PoP don't get on in Riften.

 

As you've demonstrated, PoP needs to apply its changes against a state that USLEEP would produce, not USCP.

 

Thanks for clearing up what I need to base the merge on. I guess all USCP edits needs to be purged from that cell.

 

You might want to smuggle this information away on the main page somewhere as its an incompatibility of sorts - with a known workaround.

The PoP-ified prison with ELFX - Hardcore is substantially broken, and with USCP it's a bit broken (only the end room on the top floor).

Well, I have tried removing all items before trigger an event but it does not work. Also, I found nothing useful in my Papyrus log files too. I tried to adjust my mod load list but it still happens sometimes. Now at this time I have no idea why?.
