No sorry. Sexlab gender shouldn't matter, unless you have some mod changing sexlab to change your character's actual gender instead of just using an internal setting for sex placement and animation selection.

Hi me again, once more asking for help! So the game boots up fine now, seems to work witwh both the SE and the NG version of DD. However, while running around Solitude I got slapped with some devices. At first, they simply made my hands invisible, but I think I fixed that part by running bodyslide again. Now, my hands are visible, but the mesh of my arms seems to poke through the gloves a lot and they don't change my animation at all. So I mean, they look stylish but that's about it. FNIS had no errors when I ran it, Open Animation Replacer seems fine when the game boots up - but I don't know if I need to do anything with it - and running bodyslide seemed to go well. Any ideas on what could be causing it? I tried a search function for the thread but the search function seems to be hot garbage :D

Edit: i was hesitant to switch bodies because i didn't know what it works mess up, but I went with the 3BBB2A or whatever it was called. Learned more about body side after tinkering around and i think I figured it out. Turns out I like this body a lot more anyway, and the gloves did now. I still don't know if they should have some kind of animation.

 

Since bikini armor still want fitting but i think it's because the morph was for a different body. Starting a new game and we'll see how it works.

okay so having slight issues here, went to play the game again from when i last did and noticed that i can no longer see things such as piercings when my character has revealing armors on, even though it worked last time i played, and on start up it starts to do it again, then flashes away. what is the issue here and how do i fix it? currently on AE and everything is up to date, was installed correctly, no issues aside from this.

The issue you screenshotted is either not running bodyslide or using the wrong bodyslide for your installed body, or using a different body preset from what you selected for your naked body. 

 

Those particular gloves are not supposed to change your arm positions or your animations at all by default. the ones that would, would be armbinder, elbowbinder, straitjacket, boxbinder, and some elbow cuffs. there is a 'lock wrists' option for a specific set of gloves in DCL, but it's not something that happens on equip.

That would be the device hider. piercings aren't supposed to show through body armor.

If you want all devices to show all the time, disable device hider. With the latest DD NG, that means setting the individual options to don't use or whatever it is (i  forget the exact wording). just make the body (slot 32) section look like all the other sections.

Thanks! I was beginning to think that was the issue, but I wasn't sure. I must have been mistaken about the things I had enabled when I ran body slide. Good to know about the gloves, too. If they get put on me again I might just leave them on forever since they do look kind of nice.

 

I'm wondering though, I did try running body slide with a few different things enabled to try to fix it, and only changing the body worked. Do you have to start a new game to see changes in body slide clothes, or did I just do it wrong every time? Lol

More likely did it wrong each time. I've updated bodyslides while in game, all it needs is a reload of the mesh (take off/put on) to take effect, as long as the file already existed.

 

the CBBE bodyslides don't work for 3BA and vice versa, with a few exceptions. hands up to the wrists and feet up to the ankles are common between both. anything above the wrist and ankle are part of the body mesh and they're just different enough to cause clipping.

That makes a lot of sense! I never was able to test the new morphs because I didn't think about unequipping them. Makes sense in hindsight though.

You might be able to try SexLab Eager NPCs to help with that - it has an option to "force" your gender for animations and other SexLab interactions, regardless of what SexLab itself says in the MCM. That helps me a lot (playing a male character who uses a "female" body).

Hmm, I've been troubleshooting this for about a week now. The furniture and everything else in the mod worse fine, but if I equip a leather arm binder or any restraining item to my arms, the item shows up and displays on the dragonborn, but it doesn't restrain me, my arms just go invisible from the elbow down and that's it. I found a post saying to download Devious Devices Assets but that didn't resolve my problem. I heard there was a fight between two of the mod creators and as a result something didn't get updated so those animations don't work as intended. Is that true?

Hello. I appear to be having a bug. The devices work splendidly, but only on the player. When I equip a device on an NPC it doesn't show up at all, though it appears in their inventory (force equipped through the "Epuipitem" command.)

Are you using DD NG or no? 
If you are not using DD NG, are you using Nemesis?

Do not download and install DD Assets. That mod is already included in DD SE and installing that separate DDa mod (which is the unconverted LE version) WILL break your game.

The disagreement was someone else and a different mod. DDa is a base DD mod that has been included in the fomod since version 5.0, so the separate version is obsolete.

 

Broken animations are because base DD is only compatible with FNIS and not any of the new animation systems. So for animations to work with Nemesis (and probably Pandora, but no reports yet on how well that works with DD) you need DD NG, which converts the animations to OAR. Since OAR is used instead of FNIS, that makes it compatible with Nemesis at that point. Or it could be because you've got too many animations and they don't play quickly. To fix that you would again go to DD NG.

 

If you have problems with DD NG animations, you're asking in the wrong place, ask on the DD NG thread.

They might have something already equipped in that slot that has better armor. Take away their other clothing. NPCs tend to wear whatever is 'best'.

NPC support is best effort, as being too strict can break an NPC and thus break quests. There are mods that work around that, but you'd need to install them and ask there if you have problems.

Thanks for the response. That's what I did. I removed every single item in their inventory then tried both giving them the devices through regular follower inventory and follower manager inventory, when that didn't work I tried the "equipitem" command. The weird thing is that items from other mods like ZAZ show up just fine.

Maybe someone else can help. I avoid putting restraints on NPCs simply because of the number of problems it can cause. I've had it break a few to many things.

Yeah, I already assumed DD assets was included but I tried downloading it anyway to rule it out as the problem, especially since DD Assets shows up in my item search spell mod.

I use both Nemesis AND FNIS just in case one catches something or is compatible with something the other isn't and it hasn't caused any problems, but I did try using only FNIS and then only Nemesis to see if only using one or the other would fix the problem here but neither one does. Oh! Oh! You mentioned OAR? I disabled that and DAR earlier because I thought I removed all the mods I installed that relied on it. Maybe that's it!!!

I use DD not DD NG, I actually don't like NG only because the struggle animations don't continue after the attempt has failed. They stop struggling as soon as that message box pops up, I know that because I did try out NG yesterday just to see if the problem would resolve with it, but it sounds like it's Open Animation Replacer being disabled for sure. Thank you! I don't know how I didn't think about that.

 

Edit: Unfortunately, that wasn't the solution. Quite literally everything in the mod works except for the restraints like leather arm binders. My arms are still invisible from the elbow down and I can still fight, but it does remove the items in my hands.

Unless you reinstalled DD and every other FNIS mod when you disabled Nemesis, it left remnants. Disabling is not sufficient.

If you need to use both, you can try the old, and no longer maintained standalone conversion of DD's animations to DAR/OAR. OAR is recommended. It's on the troubleshooting post.

 

I really recommend DD NG instead. If you have an issue, mention it in the discord or on the DD NG thread, ponz and krzp are really good about looking into things. If it's not something that's fixed with the 3.7 release, it could be in the future.

 

Edit: Just as an FYI though, unless you're using creature sex anims, running both FNIS and Nemesis gets you nothing. Nemesis will overwrite whatever you generated for FNIS for non creature stuff.

Are you using DD NG? If so, make sure you have the new version just released (3.7). Older versions of  DD NG had some compatibility problems with DD for Him. If you are using DD NG, then you need to ask your questions over on that page as well, it makes fundamental changes with DD that I can't always answer.

 

Also make sure you don't have any of the mods known to have compatibility issues with DD, some of these will cause problems with equipping devices. These are listed on the troubleshooting post

Installing old DD patches can also break equipping, make sure you only have patches from the troubleshooting post or DD NG overwriting DD's scripts. OSL is also ok, assuming you've got a current version of that.

i solved the problem but yet another one arises, when i equip any device that makes my male character naked, the place where his penis is supposed to be is empty, i.e. a void, what should i do here? i have schlongs of skyrim installed

That's a SOS issue, not a DD issue. Mark the outfit as revealing in SOS's MCM.

SOS adds slot 52 to body items automatically like that outfit to hide the penis. Marking it as revealing removes that slot and allows the penis to show.

can anyone help tell me whats happening here please? i've tried multiple HDT versions (normal and faster), redone bodyslide multiple times (using cbbe body and the DD cbbe bodyslide, not 3ba ), reinstalled things like DD, skeleton etc.

the petsuit/catsuit combo is easiest way to trigger it but I get similar breast/butt issues if say my character ragdolls while wearing a hobble dress for example, or if on a contraption the breasts sink in.

I'm not super knowledgable, just enough to kind of get things working but I don't really know where to look to fix the problem so if anyone could point me in a direction it would be much appreciated.

Something is overwriting your XPMSSE skeleton. XPMSSE needs to win all conflicts. If you have MNC/ABC those are the only mods that can overwrite XPMSSE, but they shouldn't overwrite the human skeleton (skeleton.nif and skeleton_female.nif) or the beast race skeleton (skeletonbeast.nif and skeletonbeast_female.nif), just creatures. So find out all the mods you have overwriting XPMSSE and fix your mod order.

Okay, I'll try that and completely re-install DD before running FNIS again. I've completed removed Nemesis since I have Skyrim installed on two gaming laptops, one modded to actually play and the other modded for this kind of thing so I've no need for it on this one.

 

DD NG does have a lot of better animations and fixes a few things, but I really utilize that struggle animation, I don't really do the sex stuff, so since it stops after the attempt fails, those new animations don't really matter. That's why I stick to this one. I think that's actually a fix though and not an issue, but I guess I can ask them if it'd be possible to revert it.

Is this a known issue? The two non-colored rope armbinders are black instead of brown.

All the other non-colored rope devices are brown, and every other variant is properly colored. It's just these two pieces that have this color mismatch.
