Hello, i am using CunsoleUtilSSE  ver. 1.4

ConsoleUtils NG is 1.5 something. You need that version. Or use the latest discord version of dd ng.

Unfortunately. Not compatible with the current version of Skyrim SE which is 1.6.1170. Can we possibly expect to see it updated?

Install this mod, pick any DLL. Install DD NG over DD. DD NG is compatible with the latest AE and overwrites DD's DLL.

Alternately, grab one of the NG DLLs from the troubleshooting post.

I just wanted to put this out here.

I was having trouble with the Devious Devices being invisible on my dragonborn. They were visible on NPCs after I ran bodyslide, but not on her, which told me that there was something different about my character that was not resolved by running bodyslide. I found the README and read that Devious Devices doesn't support beast races. Ahh, there we go. She's a Khajit, so these were not built for her.

The logical thing to do here would be to a) use the console command to run race menu and change to a supported race, b) load a save from before the quest started and disable it in the MCM, or c) start a new game.

So I chose d) look online for resources to adapt the devices for a khajit for my personal use. Who doesn't need a new headache or two? TBH, since I have absolutely no experience with meshes I fully expected to discover this was too much for me, but I wanted to at least try to understand the process.

Instead of finding any information about that, I found this:

Khajiit Overhaul SSE Unofficial Port: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/48223?tab=files

This mod adapts the Khajit body for UNP, and provides CBBE and 3BA patches. It says it requires UNP, but I'm already using CBBE so I just installed the base file and the CBBE patch. This works completely fine, so I would expect you wouldn't need to install the UNP base for 3BA either.

This mod appears to have resolved the problem of invisible devices for my Khajit, so I wanted to provide this information to other people who might be looking for it.

I didn't find anything for Argonians, but the mod for the Khajit was the first result and I stopped looking after that, so there could be something similar out there for them.

why not select beast race refit (BRRF) during install? you made it very hard on yourself, that is exactly what that option in DD's installer is for.

im having a problem, i dont know how to fix it

i've downloaded everything as far as i know, fix the dll, but when i try to equi any device, nothing happens, no menus, nothing, i think its bodyslide since nothing appears in my characters even though i equipped something

How are you equipping? there are no menus when equipping, only when unequipping. not all devices will have a menu when unequipping if you're adding with additem menu or something similar, you need to use the devices from devious expansion only.

if the devices are equipped in your inventory and nothing shows on your character, you didn't run bodyslide, or your bodyslide config is wrong.

No, they can't be completely disabled. the most you can do is uncheck the options in the mcm.

:) Hey everybody, is there a repository for other earlier versions? I did not get the most recent update (Steam destroyed the prior play-through) and I'd like to get atleast 1 Special Edition complete story before I do the update. I only have the most recent version and that just wont work.

No, and there's no need unless you were somehow using a decrepit version before 5.0. 5.2 contains the older DLLs, so if you are on something other than 1130 or 1170 then just select the right one. Upgrading from 5.0 to 5.2 is fine, you shouldn't need a new game. If you were using a 4.x or older version of DD, then you're just out of luck.

If you're still having problems getting the right DLL, then install the NG version of the DLL from the troubleshooting post.

"Decripit", Hahahahaha :)

I got it, I used the SE version on install, coulda swore it is AE because of the updates and other mod description.

Game Version 1.6.1130.0.8

SKSE64            2.2.5rel

I does run now though so all is good.

I do one question, I've tried the "Rusty Iron Fetters", the character is still able to Run, isn't this supposed to prevent that, walk only? I didn't see anything in the menu to turn that effect on/off.

Yeah, 1130 is AE. That version isn't included with any version of DD SE, but is does work out of the box with DD NG, or the NG DLLs on the troubleshooting post i mentioned. Normally DD NG would be the fix, but that needs a new game if you haven't used it before. So you'd probably want the NG DLLs from the troubleshooting post. You'll also need to get the NG console utils too probably if you're getting CTDs on loading a save or on the main menu screen.

You mentioned the "NG DLLs"? I have installed that (DD NG) as a requirement for a mod I'm hoping to start but I don't know anything about those, I don't have these mods very often, so I'm hardly familiar with the side issues.

Anything about Disabling the "Run" leaving Walk only? do I need to find this in the CK and add the Incumbered effect when those are worn? The difference between walking and running is the main reason for these particular items, the main reason.

It's one or the other for the DLL workarounds. DD NG is the more up to date one. The NG DLLs i'm talking about are the original attempts before DD NG came into being. They'll work if you don't want a new game or to use DD NG for some other reason, but if you have DD NG there's no need to grab them.

You mean the slowdown affect, have it apply more often? there's nothing to tweak in game for that other than the boot slowdown effect and hobble skirt debuff in the mcm. none of the devices use run/walk options, it's just if you get the encumbered debuff or not. you also didn't mention a device, so i'm not sure which you're talking about. but if you're testing by adding items manually in game, make sure you're grabbing them from devious devices expansion, assets devices usually don't have scripts attached so you don't get the effects.

It was listed as "Rusty Iron Fetters", the others (Iron Fetters etc.) also allow running. I remember in an older DD it mentioned if the player could run before, no longer this would prevent that.

If a character does wear these and it still able to run, then there is simply no reason to wear them, that's their purpose, to slow them down so that can't "Run Away".  If I can find these in the CK I can *Add the over encumbered effect, so they do work like they're supposed to, if this mod itself does nothing with them except require them being removed (but why would anybody fiddle with these if they do nothing anyway?).

While that may be the purpose in real life, it's not always something that's desired in a game. Most people want the slowdown effects gone, so adding more has not been discussed much. they want them for the visuals mostly. You would need to add the encumbrance effect to the script instance of those devices if you want to do it for yourself. it could be done through the ck or using sse edit. just remember that it's more geared to applying to the player, not npcs. If npcs are your goal, i don't know if it will work.

:) Thanks for the True purpose of the items, I'll find them in the CK and add it there. Yes, some want to look the part, but they surely do not actually want the effects (just the attn. getter part). but doing that without effect, where's the thrill? Kinda like the majority of the mod, Skyrim is a medieval game, but the items are modern or futuristic (how does that work??). As intended they're not *Restraints, they're Jewelry to get attention. Maybe two versions, one for the effect (Thats why the mods use them or so they say) and one for the placebo jewelry fan; and maybe carved off a separate mod that only has Lore friendly devices so those that do not use the glamour model jewelry

don't have to load a mod that only 20+/- is what they want. Also DD does have items already that should please the posers, wrist shackles with a broken chain so there are no limits on the posing the ankles could be the same, plus the "Ball & Chain" does have the correct effect, even a snazzy new Anim. for trying to move about.

Ok, Really thank you for sharing your experience in this issue you've cleared up the main issue and even shed light on the other problems:).

Hello, I have a general question/suggestion regarding Devious Devices, which mostly come from my very deep enjoyment of Frayed's "The Trappings of Fate" mod - in all honesty the best piece of adult gaming I've played and it's not even close.

In the latest version of his mod, he added "Bad Endings" when some parts of the puzzle quests are failed in a specific (and avoidable if you pay attention) way, which is just incredible. Considering it is an escape room mode with bondage themes, said "Bad Endings" put the Dragonborn in a completely inescapable and helpless situation (before you are invited to reload your last save).

I will not spoil what those situations are (I highly, highly encourage you to try the mod out if you haven't yet - with a guide if it's too tough, they are on the page mod), but they use a couple of "default" DD furniture items (which are heavily featured in the mod overall - bondage chair, gallows pole, X-Cross...) coupled with other restraints of course.

Now my suggestion would be to ask whether it would be possible to expand the number of furniture restraints with some "tougher" versions? They could also be easily added to mods such as Cursed Loot as a Hardcore version of the default Furniture traps too, on top of being perfect for "helpless" situations.

Some examples I can think of (I've put the "extra chains/rings/ropes" I am talking about in ugly red on the screenshots

  • A Strappado Gallows Pole with extra security
Spoiler

  • A Torture Pole 3 with extra rings & chains

  • An Upside-Down Strappado Gallows Pole with a Spreader Bar (and a collar chain?)

  • An Horizontal Bondage Pole that could pop out of a wall or be stuck on a ceiling (or a Gallows Pole with a longer upper bar?)
Spoiler

HP00.png.81637bbd3c86a9db963981364b1c1057.png

  • Finally, one that is not in yet, but considering there are petsuits in DD (and they're awesome ♥), a pet-sized cage based on the model of the animal cages (e.g. where you can find pit wolves), except just large enough for one crawling Dragonborn or NPC to fit into. I have searched for pet cage mods on LL but haven't found any.
  • And maybe Gibbets? There are standing cage meshes already, one could be tied to a gallows pole with extra rope/chains

On a different-but-related topic, is there a Devices Underneath setting that would allow the character to keep an armbinder while locked in some of the Contraptions (especially those where an armbinder would fit - Strappado, Hogtie Pole, etc...), as for me the armbinder becomes hidden while in the contraption.

DD just went through a huge update, and i don't know that @Kimy will be updating it again soon.

The problem with adding new contraptions would be animations for them. Can existing ones be used, or do new ones need to be created? If new ones are needed, it's unlikely to happen in base DD.

I'd recommend posting this on the DD NG thread as well, as this is where current active development for the SE version currently is, and they are adding new anims and devices here.

Does anyone know how to solve a glitch I'm having with the outfits. When I go into am animation the players bodies deform and I can't for the life of me figure out why. Only happens when wearing full outfits, fine with things like cuffs.

You're posting in the LE part of DD NG's discord, and this is SE. What game are you on? It does matter.

If you're SE then your problem is probably a skeleton as you've already been told. If you need help using vortex, it's best to ask on vortex's help page.

I'm on the original version of the game + DLC, not sure if that quantifies as oldrim or LE or whatever, but im not on special edition, apologies for spamming, just trying every avenue as I can't find anyone else with the same issue as me

Is your game exe skyrim.exe version 1.7.3 (this is LE / oldrim), or something like skyrimse.exe and the version is between 1.5.97 and 1.6.1170 (this is SE and AE)?

You can see the version by checking the details tab in the properties for the exe.

I'd assume since you specify DLC like it's separate you mean LE, in which case you need to be here:

The physics versions are completely different between LE and SE and have different requirements.

And if you've installed SE mods in LE, you've broken things.
