FULLY VOICED Companion: Completely Oversexed Ivy 3.2

Recommended Posts

I was walking along and Ivy starts saying one of the radio tag lines, I pause thinking "well that's a bug to report" then she says oops wrong channel. That cracked me up good. There are so many of those little details that prove Ivy is EPIC!

Edit I thought of a suggestion, when you get Ivy's base code set you could turn it into an ESM. that would make her a load easier to add mods onto for the DLC as well as allow users to add mods for her.

Edit #2

If you would make a text file named info.xml and add

<?xml version="1.0"?>

-<fomod>

<Name>Companion Ivy</Name>

<Version>3.2</Version>

<Id>0</Id>

<Author>Reginald_001</Author>

<CategoryId>0</CategoryId>

<CustomCategoryId>0</CustomCategoryId>

<Description>Super sexed up sex bot companion.</Description>

<UpdateWarningEnabled>False</UpdateWarningEnabled>

<Website>https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/5343-fully-voiced-companion-completely-oversexed-ivy-32/</Website>

</fomod>

It would allow any mod managers that work with fomods to read the version info as well as provide a quick link back to the file for future updates. It would also no longer make me add the info every time I download a new ivy

Cool, haven't heard that yet.

The problem with ESM files is that they are Forced to the top. This prevents moving Ivy up/down in the load order to help manage conflicts.

She would loose compatibility with EVERY mod that needs to be loaded Before Ivy. :bawling:

Edit: The text file is a good idea though... ;)

I was glad to hear this. I had a feeling it may have been tied to issues with Dogmeat as that quest can cause problems, but reading on showed there was a solution which worked for you.

So, I was having fun with Ivy...

Then she told me about a Bad Customer...

Somebody in Corvega mistreated Ivy!

Lucky you - I was around level 15 when I got my first - but my revenge pointed to Quincy (ouch!). Fortunately Ivy had my back, and front, and sides.....

Mostly it's that saving the plugin takes longer and longer and I'm afraid at one point it'll be too big and will screw up the ESP. I'm really not sure if there's a 'max' size for an esp, but 2MB is sort of a limit I think is healthy. There's no limit that I know of to the size of an ESP.

Hmmm.... Doesn't seem to be one.

Old World Radio Boston

OWR.esp    size 3,859,958

Full archive OWRB 6.4GB :open_mouth:

But this is Just radio stations (and mesh's for the radios & a few posters).

Ok 30 stations, still...

No radio towers.

One of my first tryouts for the radiant quest was Libertalia, just after finishing the Museum and Sanctuary Quest. Took me half an hour to walk to other side of the map, forgot Ivy doesn't like Libertalia... then got surprised when she dragged me into a convo about it.. yeah yeah.. I forget half of the stuff I put in there myself.

For me, the biggest issue is that saving takes longer and longer. And because of the finicky nature of the CK, if it crashes during a save, it will leave your ESP empty (0kb). I've had this happen a couple of times now, sometimes losing hours of work. So for me, the larger the ESP, the longer saving takes, the higher risk of ESP corruption... Plus, limits are a GOOD thing.. They force you to think about optimization, cleanup of your ESP and to become creative in the way you use (and re-use) your resources.... Last time it reached 2MB, I opened up the mod in Fo4Edit and found that a lot of stuff was saved which was completely useless for IVY (e.g. by Adding Ivy's radio to Sanctuary in the first release it saved the entire Sanctuary area in my ESP making it grow with nearly 300kb of useless data that causes compatibility issues as well. Most of the stuff was in there due to properties and objects I had opened and 'OK'ed by accident (instead of 'cancelling') which then got saved into the ESP. All that is now cleaned out before an actual release...

Long story short: Limits are good.

In other news, I have figured out how to implement the DLC. I will add an EMPTY topic into the base build for DLC based chatter, so this will already be active. In an override ESP I can then simply 'master' the DLC, and add appropriate dialogue conditions to this empty topic.. That way I can still do things with the base mod (e.g. release a separate update to Ivy's 'base' mod) without forcing players to update everything.

Ivy, uhhh, Ivy? IVY! go kill that dude... what? Why can't you do that? Oh, he's six feet away behind a bush... gosh, never thought about that.

Yeah, not your fault Ivy, just Bethesda's cheap AI algorithim (found at a yard sale in an unknown third world country according to legend)

Nonsense aside, will using a mod like "better followers" cause problems with Ivy? Any load order tips for that?

Also, I just discovered a clever little mod over on the dark side called "Arch_E and B0_B" fully voiced and standalone.  New bad idea, dump  ArchE and BoB alongside Ivy  ... Anybody try this?   .... just call me ModMadLeon... lol

If that works out, then you might also be able to go back and take all those filtered conversations and move those into a DLC as well, shaving even more room.  Make Ivy more of a plug-n-play type of companion, so if you don't want certain types of conversations, don't download and enable that DLC.

Then adding in more conversations of a new type would just be a matter of going back to the base mod, adding in the empty topic, and putting all the new convos into another "pack".

We can always just turn off certain kinds of conversations and other things we don't like or want through her chat, instead of Moving all that stuff to another plug-in, making it a multiple esp follower and taking up extra space in load orders.

Indeed, the profanity filters work quite well and should make her pretty 'sfw', whenever I find a stray line I clean it out and add the filter to it.

Besides Fallout, Mass Effect is one of my most favorite games, played all of them at least 10 times through, each time front to back, completionist style.. I *had* to add an easter egg for it!

Also, completely unrelated, I found this by accident while fiddling with google's deep dream and thought it was cool. I might add it as an easter egg somewhere..

The main reason I suggested it is that Reginald was commenting on the amount of time CK takes to finish compiling getting to the point where he needs to trim things down or stop adding.  Moving sets of conversations out and making them "DLC packs" would let him trim some off the main esp, making it quicker to compile and giving him more room in the main esp for future expansion, such as improvements/additions to quests and general functionality.  It would also remove the need for an MCM toggle for those conversation sets, which reduces the dependency on MCM (and decreases the number of possible bugs)

MCM? Ahh googled this. Ivy does not use MCM. She has no dependency on anything.

I wanted to mention that after about 30 levels alongside Ivy, she seems a bit 'fidgety'.

To explain: She doesn't sit or stay in one place for very long. At times she'll sit down or be in a static animation which she 'thinks' is sitting and the 'come sit with me' dialogue will kick in. If I stop and go join her, she'll end up moving off to do something else while I'm starting to sit. Kinda like she has ADHD.

Basically I can tell her to sit, which becomes the 'wait' function and we can have a nice sit-down. But if I don't then she's off and running....

Been enjoying her 'logic' dialogues when she talks about certain things it'll stop me in my tracks and puts a smile on my face if I don't outright LOL. A good one was the Half Life, because her fear if it happened again. Thanks for these.

That's how all of my companions act. Switching from workbench to chair to couch all the time.

For the best experience just command her to a chair and enjoy the ride.

I am changing the sitting conditions to make sure that it will only kick off when she's actually sitting on a chair/couch in the next build. And now that I think of it, perhaps I can switch something up in her idle settings to make her use objects in idle 'longer'.

Still running through the game, playtesting Ivy... a lot of stuff I hadn't even seen in game myself yet. Some of it needed some rework, especially all dialogue in/around Andrew Station.. Ivy going on about Super Mutants and Ferals, while the station is Raider based was a bit grating so I fixed that. Whenever I run into typos or wrong dialogue I'm fixing that.

Also found out that Ivy says a lot of dialogue on quests when you recruit her very late in the game. I'll need to go over each line there to update the conditionals so that when these quests are already done, she doesn't comment on them. It was a bit weird to hear her talk about a side mission I had already finished 20 levels earlier, before recruiting her...

Then I got (suddenly) bored with the ambient music tracks, so I side-stepped and created a personal mod.. I exported all ambient explore/dungeon tracks from Fo3 and Fo3 Vegas and added them to the random music lists in Fo4.. It's nice to hear the old ambient return! But then I figured the action music needed some work as well, so I exported the some of my favorite F.E.A.R. music tracks as well, overriding the existing 'combat' tracks in Fo4. Of course none of this will be a part of Ivy but hey.. it's nice weather.. and during my small 'break' from modding Ivy it's nice to focus on some other things.

I've implemented the empty DLC topic, but am still looking into finding an alternative way. There is one conditional called 'iffileispresent' or something like that which I want to look into. It would be really nice to incorporate DLC into the base build, without it being a hard requirement.

I will try to make 3.3 ready for release this weekend, not a lot of changes and features (NO NEW SAVE NEEDED in most cases) but lots of small bug fixes in there, including the remarks on flower picking (which now only run when you actually pick a flower, not loot it from a dead corpse.. hehe..).

Also, with Nuka World being a Raider based DLC... shit it must have something special for Ivy to do... I'm still thinking on Quest integration and whatnot. Likely I will play through the Nuka World DLC with a notepad this weekend, to write the content and think up of where Ivy needs to interact and what she needs to say during each dialogue topic, on locations and during quests.

Ja, thinking of taking Ivy into Far Harbour anyway. It's not like she will completely "shut down" just by going into the DLC lands, but you've spoiled us, Reginald, with your story-based dialogue for Ivy and I really don't want to ruin Ivy's take on so much stuff in the DLCs. Arrrrgggh, this is a difficult decision.

At any rate, taking Ivy along with the female character is revealing that she continues to say new things that I didn't hear her say in the male char playthrough. Which makes me think if when finished with this char playthrough, a third character is definitely in order. You have packed so much dialogue into Ivy, my friend, that I find myself on a quest to hear it all:smiley:

In the end, please take your time and enjoy Ivy yourself. There is no rush to bring DLC content to Ivy's dialogue or quest experience. I am so much enjoying her company on these playthroughs and she has enriched my game play by an unquantifiable degree. Thank you. Sincerely.

ps I was just thinking that maybe you could tease us with Nuka World and/or Far Harbour easter egg with Ivy in the next release to make us find it while we wait for her expansion? Or does that idea need to be filed in the "stupid ideas" file as well? ;)

Real talk, bro. @figarodlcnailed it. You've definitely spoiled us with Ivy. She really makes nearly all other companions pale in comparison. The fact that you've done this without any sort of mythology quest and purely with random dialogue is just freakin' amazing, @Reginald_001.

As far as DLC content, I can only imagine the snarky comments she'll have for Bradberton (Nuka Cola inventor) and/or Sierra Petrovita. Plus, there's the two iconic power armors from World of Refreshment and the Galactic Zone given her disposition towards power armors and loss of life. We also can't forget that crazy nutter, Dara Hubbell. Will Ivy "reveal the truth" to her or just let her dumb ass keep believing the lie?

And is Cito finally gonna get some "love" Ivy-style? IMO, Bethesda really missed a golden opportunity there to flesh out Cito as a full on companion. All we got was crappy Gage who was too afraid to take over the park on his own while Cito was wrestling gatorclaws bare-handed. I digress.

Being as she's a former raider "boss" herself, I'd definitely organize the raider-based content in Nuka World with a fine-toothed comb at the minimum. In other words, don't rush it. Ivy's simply the best, and so she deserves nothing but the best.

While I'm thinking of it, since you'll more than likely have to break up the downloads for Commonwealth Ivy and Nuka World/Far Harbor Ivy, any plans to create alternate radio stations for the corresponding world zones? Was just a fleeting thought. I'm sure sourcing freebie muzak that is also lore-friendly can be arduous at the least.

As always, a huuuuge thanks for Ivy and sharing her with us!

Nahh.. She will definitely work and still will be as chatty as ever. There will be no quest integration though (e.g. she doesn't take part in any dialogue with NPC's like the main game). I've been playing on/off with Ivy since the last release so the time is coming where I should start on the DLC. I'll look into adding some kind of teaser. ;)

Yes she needs to have a strong opinion about the whole thing.

On the other hand, I still need to add Ivy to the RailRoad stuff as well, I have a feeling she should both dislike them a bit (because they are quite the sissies and she does see herself as more than a Synth/something else than a Synth) but also be interested due to their cause (e.g. protect sentient technologies).

And Cito... yeah.. He was the first thing that came up when I was making Ivy. Unfortunately he doesn't have a lot of dialogue to work with, but I really want to add a dialogue between him and her.

I seriously wanted Dixie available as a companion after meeting her. Hopefully she gets some attention from Ivy as well.

While there may be mods to make 'anyone' a follower, it's just not the same as if they were scripted for it.

Looking forward to the next iteration...
