You have done and doing a wonderful job with this!

I have never liked to have any companion with me on my play through, but this one I couldn't resist.

You have nailed everything from her looks, clothes, voice and persona perfectly.

Thank you!

Thank you for this new version. started a new game and recruited her a little while ago, but I'm noticing she's not commenting on any book pickups or any other items I pick up. I moved her load order around a bit when I first noticed it, but nothing has changed with it. Everything else seems to be working fine as far as I can tell.

OK. Does she say anything when you pick up flowers or fruit? (Just checking if her scripts are working if intended)..

I haven't come across any flowers, none that I've noticed. But there weren't any comments on the fruit. And on the books, I did get the text saying Ivy loved that, though. Just not any comments.

Thanks. Looks like the player is not aliasing correctly, Ivy should say something consistently upon picking up skill books and fruit/veggies/flowers. It shouldn't interfere with anything else though. :smile:

Can you check if your scripts folder looks like this?

Can I also assume you completely cleaned your save of any left over scripts and tried this on a fresh save/game?

Just checked and I have all of those scripts listed. I just started the new game last night and got as far as leaving the vault and getting back to sanctuary. Only things installed are the DLC's, Armor and weapon keywords, Armorsmith (Ivy is above this as always and with a patch), and a few hair face and body mods. The gits suit, insignificant object remover and transfer settlements. No other mods of any kind.

Just did some checking on the scripts and all seems to be added and referenced in the ESP, not sure what's going on. Could be another mod overriding the pick-up events... I also loaded a fresh save to check if anything was wrong on this end but she instantly remarked when I picked up a hub flower.

Mmm... Can you also confirm you have this script?

Also, are you starting regularly (through Steam), or through F4SE?

I always start from F4SE, since some of my mods require it, unfortunately. I am a bit suspicious though, since I looked in my folder and found files and scripts left over from about three other mods I deleted close to a year ago through the mod manager. Maybe one of those are interfering with this new version of her. Maybe, maybe not. Either way, I decided to just reinstall the game and start from scratch. Not every mod will be reinstalled after. I'll see how things go with her after.

Thanks, keep me informed! If there are any bugs I'd like to know so I can weed them out! :smile:

Having it twice is normal, the second file is the source, which is included with Ivy. ;)

If she doesn't comment on these things for everybody I must have missed some file in the release. I'll do an archive export, then will check for differences... It *could* mean a new release this weekend, or a small patch file, depending on what I find though! :open_mouth:

EDIT: I think this has something to do with the armor or extended keyword mods overriding keywords for skillbooks and fooditems... if this is the case... there might not be a lot I can do as I don't use these mods myself and Ivy depends on keywords for this function to work... I'll look into it.

Ivy looks for FruitOrVegetable and PerkMagKeyword.

The script looks like this, looking for keywords on items that the player picked up:

   ;PLAYER PICKS UP WILD FLOWERS OR FRUIT
    if akBaseItem.HasKeyword(pFruitOrVegetable) && Game.GetPlayer().IsInIronSights() == False && Ivy.IsInScene() == False && Game.GetPlayer().IsTalking() == False && Ivy.IsDoingFavor() == False && Ivy.IsTalking() == False
        Utility.Wait(1.5)
        Ivy.Say(p_ivy_player_pickup_wildflowers, Ivy, False, Game.GetPlayer())
    endif

-------------

    ;PLAYER PICKS UP A SKILL BOOK
    if akBaseItem.HasKeyword(pPerkMagKeyword) && Game.GetPlayer().IsInIronSights() == False && Ivy.IsInScene() == False && Game.GetPlayer().IsTalking() == False && Ivy.IsDoingFavor() == False && Ivy.IsTalking() == False
        Utility.Wait(1.5)
        Ivy.Say(p_ivy_player_reads_skillbook, Ivy, False, Game.GetPlayer())
    endif

The script looks like this, looking for keywords on items that the player picked up:

  Reveal hidden contents

   ;PLAYER PICKS UP WILD FLOWERS OR FRUIT
    if akBaseItem.HasKeyword(pFruitOrVegetable) && Game.GetPlayer().IsInIronSights() == False && Ivy.IsInScene() == False && Game.GetPlayer().IsTalking() == False && Ivy.IsDoingFavor() == False && Ivy.IsTalking() == False
        Utility.Wait(1.5)
        Ivy.Say(p_ivy_player_pickup_wildflowers, Ivy, False, Game.GetPlayer())
    endif

-------------

    ;PLAYER PICKS UP A SKILL BOOK
    if akBaseItem.HasKeyword(pPerkMagKeyword) && Game.GetPlayer().IsInIronSights() == False && Ivy.IsInScene() == False && Game.GetPlayer().IsTalking() == False && Ivy.IsDoingFavor() == False && Ivy.IsTalking() == False
        Utility.Wait(1.5)
        Ivy.Say(p_ivy_player_reads_skillbook, Ivy, False, Game.GetPlayer())
    endif

Thanks! Enjoy!

I don't know much about FO4Edit, but in bright red, I see conflicts between Ivy, Armorsmith and Armorkeywords for the assault Gasmask, Gas mask, the Wedding ring and the Gas mask with goggles. I was able to resolve it with a patch for her previous version, but not this one it seems. I just finished reinstalling the game and about to try a new game. one with just her installed and one with her and Armorsmith installed and see what happens.

okay, now i picked a tato and she aksed if she could put one in her hair. is that one of the correct replies? and i use armorsmith extended too. I think that maybe some of the bugs are caused by my multiple followers mod(meaning instead of ivy another companion talks)?

The new update is working swimmingly for me so far.

Ivy is responding when picking flowers and mutfruit both wild and otherwise. "isn't that an ingredient in Jet?", "Is that for my hair?", "Are you picking flowers for me?" etc.

Q&A dialogue is working great.

She and I just had a nice palaver on the couch.

Just finished "Old Guns" quest with Ivy tagging along - priceless! :smile:

One thing I would really like to see is the player character return "i love you" from the vanilla dialogue when Ivy professes her love for the pc. Just a thought

Guys, I'm running Ivy with Armoursmith Extended and, naturally AWKCR and having no problems with her whatsoever. She is in the bottom 1/3rd of my load order just 8 or 9 mods above Armoursmith. The bright red in FO4Edit denotes a conflict that the mod is 'losing' to. Green denotes the 'winning' plugin.

Can I make a recommendation for your load order layout? I've done a sh*tload of study on load order and since I've changed to this new system, I swear on all that is dear to me that I've had no problems, crashes or conflicts. It's narrowed down to one simple rule and done by category instead of by mod. Every time I download a new mod (some weeks it's every day) I simply chuck the new mod into the category rather than trying to find a suitable home for it mod by mod. Once you have your mods set up using this system, it is so much easier and so much less time consuming to keep your mods organised. If you are interested, I'll make a video to help if I can. Let me know and I'll put it on the blog this weekend.

Just started a new game on the fresh game reinstall with only Ivy installed. no other mods. She still isn't responding to books or flowers being picked up. I get the Ivy loved that message, but that's about it.

               Edit: Tried uninstalling her, then checking for left over files just in case, before trying a reinstall of her manually this time. Got her to comment when I picked up a hub flower or mutfruit, but she never commented on both. only one flower, then never commented again on anything else I picked up, even books. Not sure what's going on. Reinstalled the game for a second time a little while ago and only had her installed, but something's not working right. I reinstalled the previous 3.1 version of her and started new game again and that one's working fine. Pretty stumped.

Wait... but all of her other functions are working right? I mean the commenting on flowers thing is a pretty minor feature, unrelated to the rest. :open_mouth:

Her new dialogue when you sit next to her seems to be working, as well as the new features you added with the player being able to answer questions she asks. I remember hearing some of the new erotic stories and other new your thoughts dialogue also. I haven't gotten far enough into the game yet to find out anything else. Even with the few hiccups I've been having with this new version of her, I still see the work you're doing with her is brilliant. Never seen this level of work, dedication and care in any other follower I've come across.

Damn man, I gotta say I'm still so impressed by how much work has gone into making Ivy the most well-developed, best-written, most hilarious character in this game by far.  You should seriously be writing for games if you're not already doing that professionally.  I love so many of her new lines (commenting on raider couture, her theory about the Glowing Sea, how it's weird she doesn't have to repair her gun anymore, etc.).  Just the fact that she asks you so many questions now makes it feel so much more like a real conversation, moreso than any of the vanilla companions.  Even without all the perverted disgusting filth (which is some of her best dialogue) she's just amazing and I hope she gets some more exposure on Youtube and such with the new profanity filters.  I'd love to see MXR review her.

And I'm happy to report that after a total reinstall on a clean save WIVS is working properly again.  If you're looking for some more content for WIVS, I'd be more than happy to suggest some new trailers to add.  I haven't heard all the new stuff, so I don't know how many you added (Star Trek is new), but I would recommend Barbarella and Galaxina (both of those seem especially appropriate); lots of Troma stuff like Class of Nuke 'Em High and the Toxic Avenger; Flesh Gordon; Lifeforce; and A Boy and His Dog (a major inspiration for the Fallout universe).

1 week of preparation, 8 weeks of daily working. :smile:

I'll put those links on the list for a next release. But as the ESP is nearing the 2MB limit, and Ivy as a whole is nearing the 250MB upload limit for LL I will need to soon 'stop' adding new features to her. This is good news as it means that pretty soon 'translators' can start to translate Ivy to different languages (e.g. someone has expressed interest in making a French translation).

MXR has been struggling with channel censorship lately, I doubt he'll review her... he's been doing a lot of vlogging with his GF so I don't expect him to focus on IVY, despite the fact I think he'd find her hilarious! :smile:

(Now if only I could get Jeannie to voiceact those 4000+ lines for us.... <-- this is RHETORICAL I don't expect I'll have enough time to re-edit 4000 lines of dialogue)

So i picked it up and started a new save with the new version of ivy the other day, i can confirm that the "flowers and fruit" bug did not exist in previous versions, even with keyword and sorting changes. also the awkward initial conversation with surges is goddamn priceless. I haven't noticed any other bugs so far, and she seems to be better about following me. i'm looking forward to when (if) you do the DLC expansions for ivy. I think she'll really enjoy nuka world.

Hi Reginald_001

Thank you for the newest update to Ivy.  I've seen to run in to a few minor problems with the latest release on a new game.

1) The WIVS radio did start after exiting the vault as you planned but did not broadcast her message as it did in the prior releases.

2) Ivy no longer commented on perk magazine retrievals.

3) Sometime's Ivy cuts off her own dialogue when she is talking to say something else.

So far these are the only one's I have noticed as they are minor and since I have had Ivy since her first version it's just things I noticed.  Other than that she

works as expected.  I am hoping that there is one problem I had with the other versions that maybe won't happen with the latest is that WIVS will not go

silent after all the other vanilla radio stations kick in.  This happened after the Nuka Family Broadcast for Nuka DLC.  I have Ivy at the top of bottom of my

load order so she would be able to override any possible conflicts but it still didn't stop her station from going silent.  As this is a new game I am hoping that

this doesn't show as I placed a WIVS radio in all my settlements as I really liked what the radio was playing especially the Logan's Run and Damnation Alley

trailers as I remember watching those movies so it was a real treat for me to hear the trailers that I never knew existed.  I loved how she berated Marcy in the

museum by the way as it totally had me laughing and glad that you added.  Makes me counting the days to when I will be able to take Ivy to the DLC locations

and hear what she has to say there as well.

Once again I must thank you for all the hard work and content you always add to everyone's beloved Ivy as she is the best companion created to date and will be

a long time in the foreseeable future.

Well considering the flowers and fruit weren't in the previous versions.. :tongue:

Thanks for your reply! I'm looking forward to working on the DLC.
