Mdy Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 I don't use external post processing tools @dankmemesxd (jesus, how many dankmeme accounts did you create?). It's Vanilla Ice Cream ENB v2.0, but maybe a custom weather while trying NLVA instead of NLA for a short time.

SleepyJim Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Other than spamming muffle to get the quiet casting perk, I've never really bothered with Illusion magic before. Seeing as most of the hold guards have heard about all "those illusions" I've cast, though, I thought it was about time I actually cast some. Turns out it's a lot of fun having the hands of an illusionist... Find a fort full of bandits. Cast muffle and invisibility. Sneak to a nice vantage point. Use the throw voice shout to get them all in one spot. Cast frenzy. Cast invisibility again. Wait until there's only one left. Let Mehrunes' Razor finish the job. Spoiler 3

Illusions are great fun (once you've got enough levels to deal with the problems you get into when your opponents are unaffected. A similar approach with a Thalmor patrol (especially one with a prisoner) is hilarious! ?
Magierah Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 I started a new Character and started in Winterhold. I got the quest to clear out a bandit fort and I was really good at it. But then I had to face the Boss. I failed a couple of times against him so I had the idea: I submit myself to him and become his slave and as soon as he goes to bed I kill him in his sleep. Problem is...... I die when I kill him nad have to load. But because I'm not a coward I only load to the point where I'm a slave. Not I only have to endure it until I can buy myself into freedom and kill him then.
Grey Cloud Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Found another huge 'wilderness' area, this time east of Riften. This is the edge of the map. This is totally the wrong shot. It was supposed to be the one where I'm stood at the edge of a sheer drop. This one is where the 'gatehouse' thing is in relation to the actual edge of the map. 1

I've been roaming that area, and oddly my edge of the map is right in the middle of that mountian and right at the gatehouse, which I do like for the location. though it needs some rivers and such for the right look LOL

MrEsturk Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 Well time to attempt round 2 of Wheels of Lull. At least this playthrough Llavados picked someone that actually somewhat looks like an adventurer and not a pony girl pulling a wagon for his champion, even if my current girl keeps some odd company:
SleepyJim Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Decided my mashup would suit a Dunmer, so I made one. Still tweaking, but I like her so far. 2
worik Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 Markarth, 7:00 in the morning. Ready to leave the town. Good morning, my dear vampire-hunter-boy. Have you slept well? I'm terribly sorry for the noise last night. But when I returned from my public duties : Spoiler back to the temple, I discovered a small group of vampires and their hounds on the market place. A pity that they scream so loud when you kill them. I didn't want to disturb your sleep. 1

SleepyJim Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 8 hours ago, Raider1 said: what are you using that gives you those kind of faces? Mine never end up looking as nice. I've got loads of mods thrown in. RaceMenu for starters, ENB (Unbleak) then skin textures (I use an old version of mature skin for diffuse maps and mostly SG female textures renewal for normals and speculars.) For elves in particular I've cheated a bit to make them look a little less angular. I use female human face normal maps for the female elf races, which gets rid of the forehead ridges and horrible bags under the eyes. I know some people think doing such a thing is heresy, but I just really don't like the way vanilla elves look in Skyrim. I've just installed Aesthetic Elves as well. That last one only affects the player, and it makes the elf presets look pretty weird, but with some tweaking you can get some rounder, smoother faces. 1

I guess the elves appearance is distinct to the lore and props to Bethesda for giving them such a distinct look and bla, bla, bla.... But one of the things that turned me off of ESO was the general ugliness of the limits to what you can make a character look like. Which included the inability to make a dark elf that didn't have a neanderthal browline, meth addict bags under their eyes, and a head abstractly shaped like a carrot. 1

As far as I can remember, elves didn't have all those bumps, bags and ridges in Oblivion either. They were mostly smooth-skinned and generally less angular too. Maybe that was down to graphical limitations, but having more human-looking elves with mainly the ears and eyes as distinctive features is actually consistent with the franchise when looked at that way. I do like the idea of them standing out more, I just didn't like the way Skyrim made them stand out.
MrEsturk Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 On a S_L_U_T_S haul. Looking at an actual, non-enslaved adventurer group with more than a bit of sad jealousy: OH CRAP! Where is that carefree band of merry adventurers!? They were literally just up road heading the same route I was and now they are nowhere to be found. My neko follower is a pyromancer mage and I'm in no position to battle this asshole. I am so fucked....:
Wildwinds Posted June 30, 2018 Posted June 30, 2018 I'm practicing with GIMP at the moment, working on taking some images and turning them into overlays (and tweaking ENB settings at the same time). Apparently the "necromancer in a secluded lair" option from LAL has a pretty high chance of dumping you in the little workshop closet in the middle of Blackreach at level 1. Good for testing glow, not so much for anything else. 3
