Do you use Mod Organizer?
There are two panes where load order is important. Left is just files, right is ESPs. Both have to be in order. 
Use LOOT to sort your load order. 

Very often CTDs happen when the ESM files are incorrect.

It does this in SLRetreat and PAHE placed items, I've ran FNIS, reinstalled Zaz several times, but still can't find a fix

Please See ... issue seems solved the neccessary hkx files for the turturefiles seems not installed correctly ... here the troubleshoot thread :P

 

Mr. Pickles seems correct .. the Zaz Installation seems faulty

Let's assume your skyrim/data and NMM virtual install isn't a mess by now:

 

Only one way to find out, start to remove the oldest ZAZ related mods.

Also it would be a good test what happens if you don't activate your bashed patch.

 

Always rebuild your bashed patch and FNIS after removal of a mod.

If you don't want to rebuild the bashed patch every time, just keep it deactivated for now.

 

If I where you I would start with the removal of:

23 17     WhiterunBrothel.esm => I guess it's not the Quest version?

124 7c     The Bondage House.esp

 58 3a     BanneredMareImmersiveSexualPlayground.esp  => that's not the ME version right?

( 126 7e     Animation Objects - Merged.esp => that's your merged SLAL animations right? if so, no need to remove)

  65 41     Slaverun_Reloaded.esp => old or newer version?

 

 

And again, move ZAZ over DDa,i,x

Move it down in LO unless there is a reason you have it that far up: 29 1d     XPMSE.esp (best below FNIS)

 

What I really think about your Skyrim installation atm: kill it and restart. It's impossible for us to know what you messed up by now.

If you rebuild it make sure the base LL mods work correct: SLF, DD, ZAZ

Than start adding more mods.

I'm gonna have to wait until I have a whole day free to do this, I have like 150 something mods installed, so its gonna take a long time aha

yes I guess?

I just delete the skyrim folder and drop my skyrim backup in there, than register it via steam again.

Quickest way.

Also deactivating all mods in NMM takes forever (with over 300 mods), that's why I kill my NMM installation too.

You can make backups from your NMM mod folder and the NMM readme folder (although that one would be rebuild after adding your backup back into NMM mods)

Also a backup of your NMM categories helps if you created a lot.

Also backups of inis and jasons from mod MCM configuration help for a quicker restart (all be found in SKSE/plugins).

Same goes for Skyrim.ini and Skyrimpref.ini. If you don't know what your doing with those anyways, than use bethINI after reinstalling skyrim.

Also make a backup from enblocal.ini, skse.ini, nioverride.ini if you changed or used those.

If you like your racemenu presets make a backup of those too.

 

This will be in a blog of mine soon too, I'm just so sloooow.

 

Just don't install bigger mods manually and try to add everything via NMM so you don't have to remember what you have changed in skyrim/data.

Also if you use NMM it's important to check what mod overwrites what. Just don't click yes to everything. Keep your core mods intact.

Especially PapyrusUtil 3.3 and Jcontainers and ConsolUtil should never be overwritten.

I can only guess:

> move XPMSE further down in LO and check if it got overwritten

> Did you install the UUNP ZAZ version and did you run bodyslide?

> maybe a bashed patch helps if it a mod conflict

> did you add ZAZ on a running game and do you have the same issues if you start a new game?

> did you add/remove mods during a running game? If so, did you clean your save?

> are you using stability tools like Crash Fixes and/or at least a SKSE.ini?

>  do you have PapyrusUtil 3.3 and did you make sure it didn't get overwritten?

> moving zaz over DDa,i,x might help also (there where some issues in the past, not sure if that still true, because zaz connection to DD got removed)

> do you get CTD with all zaz items or only with specific ones like heels?

> did you manipulate any files yourself? (not sure what this is 66 42 FormsEdit.esp )

1: i havent, i will try that

2: yes, i did. I do that with anything that adds animations

3: perhaps, i will make a new one

4: ZAZ was added to a fresh install and yes, the issue persists with a new game

5: i have not changed any installations since skyrim install

6: I use SKSE and safetyload

7: i have it and yes, it is not overwritten

8: i will try that

9: it seems to happen with all ZaZ items

10: i have manipulated a few but none pertaining to ZaZ. formsedit is the name of EzE's artifact disenchanting mod

11: it's been happening since i started the game but i havent had any real issues with it until now

12: i save twice, once via console and the other via menu whenever i exit the game or do something of note

I mean building outfits in bodyslide not FNIS

But most zaz devices have no bodyslide and my guess is that you rather get an invisible body than a CTD

Just pocking in the dark

 

There still might be the chance of a mod conflict, somewhat odd tho

Hopefully someone else that read this has an idea.

 

Doesn't happen with DDi,x stuff right?

I can agree only Mr. Pickles with his respond if the hkx files are present then is something now wrong with your NMM Virtual Install Folder and the Skyrim Install and the overwrites that NMM cause so that the animation is overwritten by something else and not correct used witht the torture rack ... at this point i can advise you only if you wanna perform a reinstall to switch to MO2 ... is the best because with MO2 you can much better exclude issues as with NMM because overwrites of mods are better to handle and you can move mods in the list so that the file overwrites change in virtual data folder ... this you never can handle with NMM so good ...

 

If you wanna perform a reinstall then is the best to think about to switch to MO2 now ... this is your great and best chance to use the best ModManager for Skyrim now ... best basic Tutorials for MO you can find here by GamerPoet. To found out currently whats cause the overwrite in your NMM virtual Instalöl folder that the animation is not correct used is "pain in the ass" with NMM ( Nexus Mod Manager )

^^^^MO is not the ideal choice-you will run from one nonsence into another one. I personally could not use MO, because it´s drastically taking influence on the folder-structure. Before the MO I can only suggest to learn to install mods manually, so that you learn how skyrim WORKS with mods. If you have understood that, you maybe then can go further. If one tells here to go into this or that folder, you will be looking inside the wrong area, because MO puts a new folder-structure onto the system and the stuff is read out different then. So you have exactly to know what happens on the DRIVE, if not (and if you don´t know where to look then), you maybe change things inside a folder, which has no influence on the running game !!! (MO = in that case an easy way to shoot yourself an arrow into your own knee !!!)

 

Mostly important, that you start from new and not install wildly everything at once:

 

-install skyrim, check the installation-play little vanilla, install SKSE with t´s attributes-take a coffe, relax and add essential stuff to have a first basics for more complicated stuff-check again the gameplay then

-then relax and install FNIS sexLab....then check the gameplay, take a coffe and check sexlab with a little quest-mod

-if that works you can add then zap 8 after the installation and proper handling, it will work-like it works with older versions

-then install maybe questmods which use zap

 

-DD and it´s family-mods are not working together with zap-it is possible, that DD-family-mods have impact on zap if they somehow override it´s framework or maybe change other parts of zap-I don´t know the specific contence of DD (DD never was working for me with ZAP 6 or 7 in the past-there happened different issures-most users want to have both but that is simply risky in some way different quest-mods have influence on both frameworks then)

 

-the installation should be specified to the quest-mod, which you want to play-puting all LL-mods together and want to play them side by side or all together is a wanted myth and if you do that, you are lost with your installation because nobody is able to help concerning strange effects

 

-at least you can only do the installation by yourself and you have to get a feel for things which are working well and things, which do not work together...things means "mods"

 

I can only make advertisement for WYRE BASH because it is quick and does exactly that, what NEXUS NMM was trying to do for years, but in a better way. A last word for updates: If you have a well working system and if your things become outdated doesn´t mean your living behind the moon. Every update has a risk inside, that it will create problems with other mods, which worked well together before that update. Lot of mods have lot of techniques inside, which have not be used or which have been used only particulary. One of this example is HDT-PE, which is supported even by the professional HAVOK Contence-Tool (HCT) for 3dsmax, which means, that lot of parts of the game can be created in a professional way. One example for this  are the  HDT-assets or other physics-based stuff. While this technique has been used very less, another physics came little later: SMP. SMP has no professional support and is "different". Both can be used together without problems if you have a correct installation and the correct versions. If you have a wrong version of SMP, you at once get into problems and it´s then better to use only one of this both. This depends always of the correct installation and versions. IT´S NOT possible to teach all this inside of one answer. LL has lot of forums, where you have to read carefully what to use for best and which version is working together well with another version.

 

Instead of the coffee you can also drink for best water or lemonade:-)

thanks for all the advice and when I have a day free I’ll be doing a fresh install of Skyrim and start to build it up again!

 

as much as I understand DD and Zap not agreeing with eachother I’ll more than likely still use them both, as my past experience with them is that they generally play well together (but I also know that these issues could be because of DD)

 

I’ll try again but use Zap lower in the LO, maybe I’ve even found a bug with DD and Zap, but as you said, you already know they don’t play well together!

 

i’ll redo everything again and see where that gets me!

mmm i think every one prefer a specific modmanager but you are right ... if you install mods manually is the best way to learn how Skyrim works at this point i agree with you. I use MO since years and ok yes he change the folder install structure and for newcomers is it more difficult as for others to understand how its then work ... but i prefer MO and know how to use it ... its better as NMM i think, i used NMM years ago and its was a pain with troubleshoot individual issue. Since i use MO i can pinpoint issues easier, presupposed you know how MO handle the folder structure for installed mods. But i think whats Manager you wanna use is a individual decision.

I know it been a while, but if you download Zaz helper addon, there's a spell which allows you to realign NPC's, just use that spell. works like a charm! ?
