LE?

Oldrim, Skyrim Legacy Edition (LE). You know, the 32 bit version of Skyrim that all the mods were written for first and have to be converted to run under SE and some of them again to run under VR (Skyrim Virtual Reality).

You need the Data files too, not just the EXE and DLLs.

If something complains after that then you don't have SKSE installed correctly. Don't know what else to say. Delete all the SKSE stuff you put in, verify game integrity to clean up, and try again.

No. Pick either SexLab or SexLab Light. And if you want SexLab then the SexLab Light mods you currently have need to be replaced because they're not compatible.

data files, like scripts(pexs) yes I did

How would I know what mods you have installed?  You're going to have to look at your mods to see which ones are giving you those messages.

I don't think it's mods one day it was working and the next when the update for skyrim came out it gave me skse errors.

So any ideas?

I didn't uninstall the previous skse before installing the new one.

I gave you the solution that best matches your symptoms, and you denied that it was possible. However, based on your SYMPTOMS and not your denials, you do not have SKSE64 successfully installed. For example, it appears that you may be running SKSE4 2.0.6 with game version 1.5.39. This will not work. You need SKSE64 2.0.7 for SSE 1.5.39, and if you're running VR you need SKSE 2.0.8.

Having SKSE64 successfully installed includes installing the correct version for the game version you're running.

You mean removing all the pex files the two dlls and the exe?

No, You'll just be overwriting them. The dll's & exe go in your Skyrim folder, the Data (scripts, pex) files go in your Data folder.  To make it easier, Extract your SKSE64 to your desktop, copy & paste your dll & exe files in your skyrim .  Now for the scripts or pex files, right click on the "Data" folder and "add to Archive", best to rename it SKSE64 (version #) Scripts then load that with your Mod Manager.

No, you did already. Remember SKSE64 version must match Skyrim version. If they don't you'll get a message telling you they don't match. You only do the Scripts thru NMM. Always use the SKSE64 Loader to Start SSE.

When the Skyrim.EXE is updated then SKSE has to be updated as well.

Not only that but then all the mods (Like Sexlab) which have SKSE plugins ALSO have to be updated.

So if you installed the updated SKSE did you ALSO install the updated SKSE plugin for Sexlab?

I didn't have sexlab previously just the alpha build of skse64.

That doesn't mean you installed the updated plugin file to make it compatible with the updated SKSE, you keep sliding close to but never answering the questions you are asked.

Wow using nmm and the scripts worked. Thank you sooooooo much!

It all works now.

Quick question for anyone who might know - I just downloaded OSA, which was ported today. When installing, it asked me to overwrite Scripts\ActorUtil.pex, which was already installed by the SL Beta 2 Hotfix Patch.

Could allowing OSA to overwrite this file break my SLSE animations/functionality in any way?

I am assuming they are compatible mods, since I never heard about them clashing in Oldrim, but I only mod SE so I wouldn't know first hand.

Compare the files.  If they are the same then there's nothing to worry about.  If they differ then you need to figure out which one is the current version and which one is obsoleted.

He means compare the source files, .psc. You will get nowhere trying to compare the .pex object files...

That is only if the .pex files are not exact matches.

And thank you to you both! They were exact matches far as I can tell. Not being a smart-ass, as it is an honest question I genuinely don't know the answer to, but would NMM ask to overwrite the files if they weren't exactly the same?

My ignorance lies in not knowing if this specific file is commonly used in animation mods/framework such as OSA and SL, or not. Mods using this and pointing to a different source makes sense though, which I'm not sure how I'd check.

I did throw caution to the wind, however, since this is not my be-all-end-all save, and I see no discernible difference in game. Not to say I wouldn't later, but everything seems fine so far.

Thanks again, gents!

Yes. NMM prompts for overwrite authorization without making any effort to determine whether the files are the same or not. That's why it still needs us. If it was smart enough to compare files, before we know it, NMM would be doing everything for us including playing the game while we just watched and made "let's play" videos. :classic_biggrin:

LOL agreed, that would take the fun out of things. I should have been more clear - I was speaking specifically to file names, not file contents

after installing the latest fnis and running it, my some mods no longer seem to be working. its broken, sex lab to the point i can't run the mcm install (though i seem to have animated prostitution fine(both were able to work before), sex lab aroused redux (installed but nolonger appears in mcm), dripping when aroused (says things are missing), frostfall (quest starts but mcm menu seems to be messed up), campfire Mcm messed up). it also doesn't seem to load all the animations as i don't get a long list. also old saves not working anymore though new game does however thats likely because things are missing or gone to pot.

thoughts?

i've tried reinstalling all of the ones that arn't working and fnis.

i have the latest skse and i have reinstalled it. 2.07

i have run loot and updated it.

i was running fnis 7.0 beta when all was good and only wanted to update due to some idle animation needing it.

i'm running skyrim special edition.

actorutil.pex is part of the papyrusutils mod, which is bundled with both OSA and SL. I keep the latest copy of that mod loaded very late in MO so it overwrites any (potentially outdated) bundled versions. With nmm if you're ever in doubt about whether or not you've got the latest version of it active in your game you can simply reinstall papyrusutils via nmm.
