Poll: Who's Playing and Who's Waiting? (PC Version)

To Download SSE or Not to Download

  1. 1. Are you downloading SSE?

    • Yes! I want to play it right away!
    • No, I'm going to wait until it's been patched and/or my favorite mods work with it.
    • I'm modding it so I don't have to wait!
    • I'm reverse engineering it to make tools to mod it.
    • No, I'm sticking with Oldrim.

wait the creation kit is different? I haven't loaded it up yet but i thought it would be generally the same, you know like armor ids and npc ids and stuff at the left etc

It's different in that it's designed for a 64-bit engine, rather than the 32-bit one of Oldrim. Since it's the exact same game released five years ago, just with a better script load capacity, the CK is the exact same but "updated" to handle bigger script loads.

Waiting for at least skse and skyui.  Still haven't tried OSA/OSEX hope it will work on the new engine.

Even if the visuals in general are not that different the 64 bit engine makes it more stable.  Also you can tab in and out of the game more easily.  That alone makes it more convenient.   But I've only messed about with it a little so far.  I believe you can get your old characters into it by using the racemenu extension, although I have not tried that yet.  If that works it would be nice.  The appearance of ones characters should adjust as you add mods (just like in vanilla skyrim) and appear as expected.  As far as savegames, It's okay to start over and/or boost your character with the console, although, I also hear that you may be able to clean a save while turning off all mods and then transfer your save to skyrim se.  Anyway, all in all, I'm happy about this.  it's cool that they've done this.

0SA/0SEX are a lost cause for SSE. Uses a bunch of scripts that wont be compatible with SSE. Also without SKSE it won't work in the first place.

Possibly the best alternate title for fallout 4 I have seen ^.^

Skyrim is Murder Hobo Adventures 5: Vikings vs. Dragons

Fallout 3 was Murder Hobo Adventures Post-Apocalyptic 1: Waters of Life

:P

I miss Murder Hobo Adventures :(

The SkyUI author said they're not going to convert it

Well, then i'll never even install it :)

skyui may not even need a major update skse dev have already said all hooks on which skyui depends and requires will be in SKSE64. so calm your tits old skyui v2.1 already works in SSE i'm using it.

I will wait  and see how things turn out.I feel its much too early to jump over to SSE so shortly after its release.Well see how things are after a year or so.

Well to those that waited would have a bad wake up call. Bethesda free edition was not set forever. if you are going to jump on SE now you will have to pay for SE even if you owned All DLC on skyrim.. So by Delaying the switch only victor is now bethesda.

It is found on bethesda forum: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1612318-is-the-special-edition-still-free-if-you-have-the-mods/

If you already owned all the DLC before the cut-off date you still have access to SSE whenever you want it, because it would have been automatically added to your collection. I've had all DLCs for ages and I'm still waiting on SSE - possibly forever - but it's there in my games library ready to download at no extra cost.

If you didn't own all DLCs by the cut-off date then yes, you can only get it by paying now.

So I've played SE for a few levels, added a few followers to serve my follower addiction and ported my wayshrine mod over to SE and XBox. Other than that I'll probably go off and play Doom or Civilization VI for a few months until SKSE64 is out there (I also believe that BeHippo might be porting SkyUI over as well as the original SkyUI team washed their hands of it in the wake of the paid mods fiasco - certainly it seems to be a priority for SKSE64).

At a minimum I'd like to see:

SKSE

SkyUI

Babes of Skyrim or something similar as vanilla NPCs are fugly.

Lots and lots of followers - hopefully the Merge Plugins tool will be updated as I will be needing it here!

is that supposed to be a surprise?

http://www.loverslab.com/topic/64902-skyrim-64bit-special-edition-announced/?p=1715504

that's to make some buy the dlc they are missing, or legendary, before remaster release

maybe that will become free only for the ones that bought legendary from date x to date y after remaster release^^

it's just another reason to wait

and that dumbass is just one of the first to buy legendary to not get sse for free

But eventually they will still be forced to buy it might as well get it free while that last. they could simply drive the price up now to cash in more for small amount of time since most modders are already moving to SE and leaving regular skyrim without new updates to there mods.

I'm playing the hell out of SE. It runs 10x better than Oldrim did, for me anyway, and looks a lot better out of the box. So far it's the Skyrim I always wanted. When even more mods come out Oldrim will die off. It's inevitable.

After all the hate they earned for supporting paid mods it would be problematic for them to show their faces around the modding community again. Some of us still haven't forgiven them and likely never will. That said, I freely admit that SkyUI is a vital mod for me. The old UI is a mess I'd rather not deal with and they did make an excellent replacement. Not enough to justify paying Bethesda (and eventually them) for it, though.

Maybe, maybe not. There will no doubt be mods that never get ported. Plus SSE requires Win 10; there are a lot of people who refuse to upgrade from Vista or 7 for understandable reasons. They won't be playing SSE any time soon.

SSE does not require Windows 10. I'm playing it on Windows 8.

Where did you read that i have windows 7 64 bit and i still can play skyrim SE. You should recheck your source because that is not true SE supports still older windows version some even managed to play it on linux from what i can tell.

I'm playing it but I'm going Mod lite until SKSE64 is out. I have friends that have already modded theirs to the nines but I'm using this as an excuse to actually finish the main quest.

On that note it sounds worse, and everything is darker than I remember, especially character faces. Unless I have a light source directly behind me (aka: mage light or an interior setting) peoples faces are bathed in shadow.

I want to play this because of all the fixed made to the game.An it being 64 bit should make it more stable.Yet i am hearing complaints of the game not starting up or crashing. An i know for a fact that that has nothing to do with Bethesda. It has to do with Third party production.OK.They optimized the game like garbage. An i want to play. But until the issues of performance for me are fixed.I am gonna wait.Ill play Original Skyrim till that happens. That an Fallout Shelter with their latest patch an Brotherhood of Steel.

Fixes, right. Show me one thing they fixed among the thousands of problems with Oldrim. Other than using a 64-bit engine, which won't make any difference if you aren't using mods. I won't even call the new textures "fixes," they're still the half-assed work I've come to expect from Bethesda.

The majority of people are having no problems with Special Edition, although like any PC game there are always some who do and they are the ones who most often come to the forums to complain, understandably. In my case, SE runs much better than Oldrim ever did. In Oldrim I had to run the Performance versions of texture packs, but in SE I have full 4k texture mods running and I get 60fps in almost all areas. SE is definitely an upgrade over Oldrim, and the engine is far better.

I'm playing and loving the stability, I can alt tab and everything doesn't break now.

I really, really miss having actual mods though. Thankfully most of the best things are being converted, so I am confident once SKSE64 is out things will improve.

i dont see the point playing a reboot of skyrim, they literally did nothing with it but poked some visuals in it.

besides i have to get a new rig to even play it, even then ill just be playing fallout 4 and possible the new TES

then if Horizon dawn is anything like i think it is ,that.

Im in the boat of Myuhinny. Im going to stick with the old format for a while yet. Almost 3000 hours and even though I am not playing it right now I dont feel like paying 60 dollars for a game I already own with minor tweaks and graphical enhancements that can be obtained for free by modding.

Well actually I don't play but I do test many times. I downloaded some mods to make things more beautiful, test it in the game to see if it works, and quit again.

The thing is I wait for some for me important mods to come available. These are;

Of course Sexlab, (maybe 0SEX but only if there comes lesbian animations available), Sexlab Aroused, Spouses Enchanted (Serana), Lovers Comfort, DDa / DDi / DDx, Cursed Loot, Defeat and/or Submit, Simple Slavery / S.L.U.T.S. / Q.A.Y.L. / slavetats, My Home Is Your Home. But yeah I know it all need SKSE se and some kind of Skyui for configuration, so I'll have to wait some time.

In the mean time I still play the old Skyrim. And it still enjoy me.
