Poll: Who's Playing and Who's Waiting? (PC Version)

To Download SSE or Not to Download

  1. 1. Are you downloading SSE?

    • Yes! I want to play it right away!
    • No, I'm going to wait until it's been patched and/or my favorite mods work with it.
    • I'm modding it so I don't have to wait!
    • I'm reverse engineering it to make tools to mod it.
    • No, I'm sticking with Oldrim.

My experience after about 20 hours in the game with about a hundred mods installed.  Most of my favorite (non sexual) animations converted, CT77's armor replacers, Bijin, my housecarls and bards, Ordinary Women, DOS 1 and 2, SOGS plus NPC 85 and the Dawnguard, Dragonborn and Companions from his site, all converted, plus various followers such as VRDaphni's Lunari Warriors.

Maxed BBLS SE at 25 invites and its cells still load faster than Oldrim BBLS at 15 invites, and I'm playing SE on High graphics, while I only play Oldrim on Medium.  I can't get the game to stutter, freeze or CTD.  Heaven, thy name is 64 bit.

BTW, uLargeRefLODGridSize=21 is pure win.

I'm gonna give it a few years and see if we ever get a skyUI replacer and proper racemenu and proper anims handler like fnis etc. Before that we need bug fixes big time and hopefully a working CK and we know how that goes:-( I think they have to keep interest in their products which is probably the ONLY reason why they do anything with 64bit skyrim at this point. All this stuff about 4k and VR I think maybe some of these big game companies are pulling a wait and see on us to see what we do with 4k and VR do we consume all or turn some of it down? I just can't see myself using VR normally it would only be a porn like experience with nobody else around or calling on the phone so late at night laying in the bed with the huge VR thing stuck over my face getting off to porn mods for games on it. I think these big companies see it that way too. So 4k is likely to stick around and drive sales of new hardware and new console hardware. Maybe they are waiting for tech to develop for five years before spitting out a big new game? Remember what toady said about the next thing doesn't exist yet or something like that. So they get the tech they want then pull a starwars reboot on us with NEW 4K blah blah versions of some games maybe just retell the whole dam thing from the beginning again.

When they have a significantly better set of consoles out that will be reasonably priced after the first year and the game sales are profitable they will make a major move with ES and FO games I think. Until then more crappy card games and elderscraps online crap or nothing at all except minor updates for 64bit skyrim and F4 maybe.

I don't play this game for the power play or stories anymore, it is just a cheap porn simulator now thanks to all the stuff from this site lol. I mean the whole game, done to death beat it many times even before the DLCs came out there is nothing exciting or equal to the power play in F4 in this game. Only thing left to do is play a dumb blonde bimbo that stumbles into traps and slavers and gets screwed and passed around a lot.

I have been slowly modding my SSE with the basic stuff as it comes out, not really playing much yet. I play normal skyrim for lewd things, but I have SSE ready and keep it perfect so that when SKSE comes out I can really play.

actually at this interval majority plays the game for lewd mods  :P no point in playing the vanilla game.

Well if I just want lewd I look at porn or comics or other types of media.

What makes lewd gaming enjoyable for me is when I can invest myself in it. Make a character or two I enjoy playing as, and then get into it, and have some lewd mods so I can be lewd with them in a sort of roleplay style.

I wanna do that in SE later.

I'm mostly just testing for now.  Got MO2.0.8 working with SE as well as ENB, SEEDIT, Wrye Bash, LOOT, FNIS, and SSELODGen.  Testing with a bit over 200 mods loaded so far and never crashes.  Other than a few visual glitches here and there it looks as good as or better than Oldrim in most respects and I get massively better performance.  Areas that I get less than 10 FPS in Oldrim with the same mods I get at least 30-50 FPS in SE and that's with higher quality textures loaded in SE than my system can handle in Oldrim.

Only real issues so far are lack of SKSE and lighting effects on skin is a bit funky.  Eagerly awaiting SKSE64 and the flood of conversions that will hopefully inspire.

I'm playing a lightly modded version of the game. I'm actually further into the game now, than I ever was with Oldrim. I guess there were too many distractions with all the sex mods for oldrim.

I'm one of those rare type of gamers that actually just want to lewd up the game experience so far that there are some particular fantasies served while providing a thorough and lore-friendly adventure game to play. Since SEE is already far superior in terms of stability than oldrin ever was, I am playing SSE right now, heavily modded with overhauled textures, better roads, bridges, forts, open cities, enhanced dialogue, some comfort patches, stealth tools and the only lewd content right now is AA which allows some "believable" romances (of course a bit "james bond-esque", but I'm playing an "agent" subclass anyway). I won't go back to oldrim and already starting to get my "old" character back.

The primary reason in playing special edition is because its more stable.Well WAY more stable.

Pretty much we are all waiting on mods to be converted so we can stop using the 32bit engine.Even people on lower end systems are finding performance to be excellent.

I am playing it now for two months and I am having a far greater experience then playing Oldrim.

It is amazingly stable, runs very smooth. Loading time is 1-3 seconds max. Even without SKSE64 there are tons of mods. What's there not to like?

Still not enough stable for me to use both warzone and it's dlc ;_;

(I need a better cpu)

As I've stated elsewhere, I'm lovin' it!  The graphics are awesome,  except perhaps for water looking down from high altitude. And while there's no parallax-type stuff yet, they're still very sharp and clear with my ENB.  I do have a big, new 4K monitor, so that prolly helps!  Character shading kinda sucks (atm), which I find odd (see my post regarding that), but landscape, etc., look great. Sure, there's no RaceMenu, SkyUI, HDT or whatever that'll morph into (we're back to the BBP days), but the damn game doesn't CTD every 2 seconds either.  And I've found that most of Oldrim's non-SKSE mods work just fine with SSE. All UNP / UUNP armors / BS files work fine (HDT's just won't bounce), so all-in-all, I think it's terrific. Is it mainly a port for console folks? I suppose. So what?  Is 64-bit better than 32?  IDK, but big-time video games (like in bars, etc.) have been 64 bit for decades. Why?

So is it Oldrim at the moment? No, but it doesn't have 6 years of work on it either. But it will - or at least I hope it does...

After all the damn problems Oldrim has given me when using script-heavy mods, I'm ready to switch...as soon as those mods are converted and/or the tools to convert them myself (SKSE 64) is out. I just can't stand Bethesda's focus on consoles for UI and graphics. No other company has such hideous vanilla meshes and textures when the engine could easily support better ones.

Do we to have to make a million tweaks to INI settings and download a dozen unofficial patches to use mods and fix heinous bugs in Newrim, though? I haven't actually touched it since I downloaded it months ago. I know we have to clean the masters again; such a simple thing and BGS won't bother with it.

1st part - Boy, ain't THAT the truth! LOL!  When I 1st tried FO4, I thought my female character (when naked) was a 10 yr old boy. Very disturbing!

I've become a fanboy and can only suggest that you DL all the big, basic mods (Unofficial patch, SMIM, weather, SFO, Verdant, etc.) and give it a shot. I believe you'll find it's worth it as I haven't opened an ini file at all. Nothing like Oldrim!  After DL'ing the main mods, I installed an ENB ( tried several different ones actually ) and they were ready-to-roll right out of the box. It's been quite an enjoyable experience so far.  Not having SL (et al) kinda stinks atm, but the game looks better and is FAR more stable. Oh, and don't forget a bunch of the body / face mods cuz the characters still look like shit - and there's no RaceMenu.  Just my 2 cents.

EDIT:  "...game looks better..."  I keep forgetting that I've got a 4K monitor now, but...

I recently moved over to the special edition. I mean no matter how much I love that bouncing ass and tits, walking in heels (and my char actually get taller] and SkyUI, MCM and so fort and so on - it's completely irrelevant when the games crashes about every hour or so. No matter what trick in the book I used to reduce or remove the number of crashes on load or when just walking around in the game, It still happened. And when being a vampire the game will always crash after a few in game hours. All the goodness I can't really enjoy if I can't play the dang game! 10 hours in SE and zero crashes. I only get that stable play in Fallout 4. Even though I still play Fallout 3 and NV, both games crashes quite often, but with those I have no choice, at least with Skyrim I do. So Oldrim is behind me, I'm never looking back.

Someone needs to convert TTW to the Fallout 4 engine...  Probably never gonna happen but I can dream :)

I guess I should elaborate on those INI settings. STEP Wiki has several suggestions and I'm wondering if they're still necessary to squeeze the best out of Newrim. I just want to make sure I have things setup right for when SexLab SE comes out (likely in another six months to a year, depending on SKSE 64's release and the team's time to work on it).

I don't have oldrim and so I didn't wait and play sse thank to steam family sharing, but I wouldn't have played it if I couldn't modded it a lttle.

Even if I would like more mods, the base game and the mods that I already have are enough for me to enjoy it.
