zippy57 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I'm working on something that would explain all this.Nuclear radiation. Explaining weird things in the Fallout univere since 1997.
ChancellorKremlin Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Actually, for once it won't involve that, I'm going in a new direction with it. As it is, Scorpions don't need eggs for their birth sequence, because as I said, they do not leave the female in eggs but as small scorpions. Â What I aim to explain is inter-species breeding, lore and realism being a bit point for me you see.

Sleepy_Soul Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Speaking of overflow, I'm noticing that semen really bloats the belly when compared to the V2 pregnancy mod. Â Can't remember any specific numbers (~200 maybe), but you can actually achieve a P6 belly with the semen 'life' counter set rather high. Â A P7 belly, when implemented, shouldn't be too hard to get this way either, which brings to mind some more breeding scenarios if Halstorm's plugging feature is also implemented. Â Perhaps a Super-Mutie gangbang, followed by a plug to leave your character with an immobilizing cum belly to guarantee impregnation O_o
Evilrunner Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 What I aim to explain is inter-species breeding' date=' lore and realism being a bit point for me you see. [/quote'] Â A bit of lore related stuff would be quite nice to have actually. Â Something I had thought about actually was that if inter-species breeding is possible, and has been for long enough that it's assumed to be normal (consider wastelanders consider cows with 1 head to be mutants) I did wonder if the whole thing might be a bit more overt. Â The breeder stuff seems to be mostly out of the way, hidden sorts of areas. Perhaps some of it could be more visible? Obviously a place that kidnaps women for use as breeding stock is going to be similar to be out of the way, but a case like Sunny and Cheyanne, or farm workers encouraged to increase the breeding output might be possible in relatively plain sight.
Guest user29 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Giving my bighorner farmer a daughter might work.

[/quote'] Â In my general headspace there is the idea that the Courier has a mutation which makes her interspecies fertile, but also sends pheromones that nonhuman creatures receive. It also makes her gestate very quickly and, for her own survival, heal faster with enough food. This sort of genetic "flexibility" she can spread through contact with other women's reproductive organs...specifically cunnilingus or Tribbing. Because she is a survival mechanism of sorts for humanity all but the most heterosexual women may be drawn to her because they subconsciously want her fertility to "rub off" a bit...so to speak. Â That's just me of course, and I have probably given it too much thought.
Sleepy_Soul Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 What I aim to explain is inter-species breeding' date=' lore and realism being a bit point for me you see. [/quote'] Â I'm with ya Chancellor - sci-fi with a tad bit of realism - Mass Effect's lore did a pretty decent job on it with the introduction of 'explain-away' convenient Element Zero. Â In my brahmin breeding scenario, Buckets the robot reasons that all the latent radiation made living creatures' DNA sort of 'squishy'; in other words, they're much more susceptible to change and interaction. Â Calling upon my very rusty Intro-to-Chem college lore, radiation acts in the micro range of space (1x10^-6 magnitude), which allows it to disrupt the DNA's helix structure. Realistically, this usually results in cancer when unregulated, but in the post-apocalyptic flavor sense of Sex-Out, we can go with 'Allows human spliced with 'x' species babbies'
Evilrunner Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Giving my bighorner farmer a daughter might work.  Would be good' date=' bonus points if she enjoys it  Not so sure about the courier only thing, you'd need a pretty good reason why it's just her.  I always thought more of some general mutation that allowed human female inter-species pregnancy. I suppose you could probably fit pheromones in quite easily though, all females have differing strengths, and all females are susceptible to other women to different degrees. Courier just has abnormally strong pheromones.  Would certainly lead to some interesting in universe implications, an all female patrol may not attract attention from wildlife who would normally be hostile, but have just one fertile woman in and the group gets fucked.  Sometimes I think I probably put way too much thought into these things too . Perhaps sometimes the best way to incorporate stuff as lore is just have it blend in rather than trying too hard to explain the reasons. The courier being 'special' needs explanation, patrol 13 coming back filled with scorpion eggs because private williams forgot to submit her latest fertility timetable just seems to meld with the world better.  [edit'] wow that turned into quite the wall of text
Guest user29 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 maybe it's not the humans but the creatures that have adapted to impregnate humans?

The idea women are getting more interfertile to pass their DNA along is just as interesting and also has fascinating implications. And I would certainly not complain about it, so long as every so often she finds her DNA commandeered by some ruthless critter or another  I will say with enough work the "all women/many women are changing" can be more effective because you can construct situations with women used for breeding by monsters and fight through with pregnant women and occasional birthing antagonists. That works less well if only the courier and women she contaminates has the issue. Otherwise both are certainly viable.  My part with the fertility and recovery was also to help explain how the courier returned from the grave, but that can happen IRL so hardly demands such an explanation.
saladboy21 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 maybe it's not the humans but the creatures that have adapted to impregnate humans? Â That works well too. Just does not explain the lower gestation times if used (especially with other humans). But as that varies that can be a headspace thing as well. Of course if full 280 day gestation times are used that is not an issue so much.
Evilrunner Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I suppose in some ways it might not matter which way around it is. If pheromones are involved, I think having the mutation in humans is better for that reason. If not though, the other way works just as well. Â Also, I have a screen of Scorpion egg size. Sort of had a think, if birth is live rather than eggs, I made the eggs the size that they are removed at during an abortion. Maybe have the abortion be an artificially induced birth rather than just removing them? Could probably keep the eggs afterwards for whatever reason you want. Â @Saladboy, I guess you can have two scenarios, one where the change is occurring now, one where it happened long in the past. I think the past would mean that people on a whole are more familiar with it, and it's alot more a part of life, while the first does offer an interesting 'new frontier' type feel.
Guest user29 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Need a name for the super mutant helping the farmer with his bighorners (he's going to have scheduled trips up to jacobstown to deliver meat when I figure out how to do it) and a name for the farmer's daughter. She's going to be "helping out."
DaBigMunny Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 maybe lennie and debbie? Im not good with names so feel free to ignore this
Guest user29 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Ideally the super mutant should have a one sylabble name (he's gonna be one of the dumber ones) but Debbie works just fine for the daughter. Thanks.
saladboy21 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Buster would have interestin implications. Bruce could be funny
Guest user29 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 He's going to treat the player like she's just another cow if that helps anyone.
Evilrunner Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Minos? Â Sound a bit too intellectual' date=' something closer to Bessie perhaps? Â [edit'] Totally useless for names but: http://www.petnames.net/female-cow-pet-names.html Pablo Picasso?
zippy57 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Ideally the super mutant should have a one sylabble name (he's gonna be one of the dumber ones)You could always just call him Dumb. Saves you character development time.
Evilrunner Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 He's not that dumb really, I mean he found someone capable of breeding with his brahmin. Wind Brahmin nightkin on the other hand isn't doing as well
Guest user29 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 V1.0 is up. I'm not really finished with scorpions forever or anything, but the scorpion nest is now fully functional. Meaning, you can enter, get impregnated, give birth, and then escape. I do have more things to add to it when I feel like it. Also included in 1.0 is Bighorner ranch. It is just north of the Remnants Bunker and South of Silver Peak mine. The initial portion of this episode is up and should be functional. Talk to the farmer up near the house to start it. You need to update to the latest Pregnancy and SCR.
