It's part of being in the position of a Supervisor, and if they didn't care enough about the job to be diligent, that's on them not you. Thx hun. It was a weird feeling. They did earn it though, I found actual cyber crimes in the code they committed...so it won't just be a firing they'll be prosecution as well.

Yeah, well my boss is non-tech. So I feel like I'm on equal footing...yet still have to report to her. I'm now making choices that are at her level, I just don't have that in the Org chart lol. That's ok though, just the firing thing was weird. I keep running through it in my mind.

If the truly difficult things we have to do in life ever become easy to cope with then we have lost a part of ourselves. Hardness of the heart kind of thing, compassion is a good thing to keep within ourselves, it allows us understanding and grace.
Guest Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 Going through my list of mods that I made (AKA, pics I took of my load order before wiping my PC clean), I never realized how many mods I had installed, yet never used. An example is 90% of my outfit mods that I had. I had all of these installed, but only wore a few of them. The others I didn't even give to followers. Way to waste space in my load order...

With outfits it's just so easy to say: "Hey that looks cool, I'm gonna install that." Got the same problem with swords as well.

Got the same problem with swords as well. For me, it's a lot of different mods. For example, I have a bunch of mods that add new books into the game. I never read books in Skyrim! I just pick them up and immediately back out of them. I mean, what's the point? The books are only 2-10 pages long, anyway. I guess that's what happens when you read books a lot, like me. I have a small library in my house. Others mods include spells, weapons, random items, player homes, and Beyond Skyrim: Bruma. Bruma is a good mod, don't get me wrong, but I only did 1 playthrough where I actually used it. After that, I just thought "Eh. No thanks. I'm good". The biggest issue was that, after that 1 time, I just got bored with it, but never uninstalled it. I would love to see the Cyrodiil mod that they're working on, though! If they ever complete it. I used using all the outfit mods I used to replace all the default outfits. Those it still ends up a little pointless during the playthrough that I have Slaverun installed

steelpanther24 Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Moving soon and will have to join an HOA. Not sure how I feel about that, as I generally find HOAs to be intrusive and dictatorial, but.....I have never been in one so.....maybe it won't be bad.

Guest Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 (edited) Today, I finished something incredible (for me, anyway). I finished forging a Scottish Claymore! Spoiler This isn't the one I made. This is for people who don't know what a claymore looks like. It was difficult, but I just got back inside from testing it, and it's the greatest blade I have ever forged! It has a 46 inch blade and is made from an old leaf spring I bought from a salvage yard. I forged it in my favorite way by making a Damascus billet that I got to 200 layers. I made the billet large enough to where I could cut off a portion, which I later used to make the guard and pommel. The guard I inlaid a ruby on both sides in the center, and the pommel I inlaid a sapphire on both sides. The handle is made from black walnut that I wrapped in black leather. The sword is so strong, that I was able to destroy an old oil barrel that I use for testing swords without even a chip, roll, or anything else on the edge. Shit, the only damage was that it rubbed a little of my acid etching off, which I easily fixed. Kalyna and Babydoll, my girlfriends, were impressed with the sword. Babydoll tried to test it on a water bottle and nearly killed herself, not realizing how hard it is to swing a sword as big as a claymore. Kalyna had an easier time with it, though. The hardest part of this is that I don't use auto-hammers or anything fancy. Everything I do is by hand. The only things I have for forging are my hammers, anvil, gas forge, and belt grinder. My quench tank is either an old metal bucket for knives, or a long metal pipe for swords. What can I say? I'm not a complicated woman. Well, not when it comes to bladesmithing. Edited June 23, 2023 by deadjester226 Forgot a couple of things.

Is that correct? When most people hear the name James Cameron, they immediately think: Movie director. Sometimes they think: Movie director of the movie Titanic. Not often do they think: Oceanographic expert who has designed, helped build, and gone to the bottom in many places in the submarines he, personally, designed and built. His oceanographic expertise is on a par with Robert Ballard, the guy who first found the wreck. Been listening to a lot of different sources on this, and a lot of interviews of Mr. Cameron, and one thing is abundantly clear: This outfit, and especially its leader, did NOT have the correct mindset for doing what they were doing. So much of what I'm hearing is this company's billionaire guy bitching about how the deep submergence community is a "closed" community that uses rules to keep newcomers and innovators out, etc.. And how, rather than hire old, experienced submariners and engineers, he hired young, inexperienced people. Now, that's not saying that young people shouldn't have been hired. It IS to say that you damn well make sure that you have age and especially experience/expertise in your crew, especially when you're doing something this dangerous. What did they do with that experienced person(s)? At least one of them was fired in 2018, because they didn't like what they were hearing when the (wrong skin color and age) guy told them that their shoddy submarine was going to be problems. And, finally, as I've mentioned before, ocean exploration has no place for politics. Leave your politics on the dock. The rules are there to make sure that when something goes wrong (which it will), it's not critical life support equipment that fails (or the whole damn pressure vessel). Care to guess what happened? Yep, the "pressure vessel" (if you can call it that) failed, and the thing imploded. But rules are for other people. 1
AKM Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 And who the hell brings paying passengers on a non-certified, experimental submarine in the first place?? You want to kill yourself? Fine. You DON'T take others with you, though.
