I'm getting old.

 

I woke up this morning and had to make an effort of will to pull myself together. Sat on the edge of the bed, fumbling for the bedside cabinet, hunting for a pair of socks to put on. Life always seems to make more sense once I've got my socks on.

 

Then I remember medication. It started with some blood pressure meds and I'm slowly getting the typical old persons pharmacopeia at the side of the bed, I take my pills like a good boy.

 

Eventually I manage to get dressed. I stagger out to my car, sit in the driver's seat, put on my tinted driving glasses, and start the engine. As if on cue, Bruce Springsteen starts up on the radio singing Born To Run.

 

That's my life these days: just one long round of Socks and Drugs and Rock & Roll.

I used to love Mortal Kombat. But MKX just plain bored me. I ended up skipping MK11 because it looked like more of the same with an added side scoop of "respect tha fictional whamen" preachiness in its promotion (from a group of developers that got called out for assigning vulgar pet names to their female interns, aka real world women, shortly after MK11's release).

 

So kind of hard to get hyped for MK12. Also the kameo fighter system feels like a giant tease of "we included this character you like but not really".
