I believe, based on my experience on a couple of Windows 11 machines, the UAC and it's system is more sensitive. There are more parts of the computer that is protected. The firewall is more robust as well. Any of these can be causing the trouble. (Assuming this program is valid and you are using the Widows 11 version etc.)

If your UAC is mid to higher in the settings, try lowering it.

You can also try to turn off firewall for a brief time to see if it is trying to call out and being blocked.

You can try to turn off antivirus (briefly, suggest after a fresh reboot) and see if it works.

I assume this Windows 11 computer came with Windows 11 and not upgraded from Windows 10. (mention this as some programs miss some features if not an upgrade. Sad to say, but a week ago someone I know experienced this event and had to reinstall Windows 10 just to be able to go through the upgrade as the component that that program needed wasn't present in Windows 11.  Rare, and in this instance it was a known bug that the company was working on. (If I recall correctly, it was a Razer device. All be it an older one. )

Hopes this helps. I don't use that program so I can't help much more.

Thanks for the tips.  I'll try them when I have more time.

And for everyone else:  Sorry for going off-topic.  Carry on.

Sorry. So sorry. This program is from a modder, correct? Chances are it isn't digitally signed. This causes secuirty issues. They can release a vesion that isn't requiring admin to run but... they will get bombarded with users worried that it is a virus.

This was more lax in Windows 10.

Sorry, I forgot about this when I posted before.

Best of luck

I don’t think it’s possible to go off-topic in this thread. It’s literally, “what’s on your mind” lol.

It's nice of you to be so considerate. It is good to not dominate a thread discussion too much.

In my experience here, @Evaloves4 is correct. ti is an off topic thread. A place to discuss things that don't quite fit elsewhere on the thread. A way admin/moderators do things to help keep the site cleaner.

At least in the past, if someone got carried away a moderator would chime in. Then the member(s) can continue on a dedicated thread or PM.

> When talking about food, my mom says that I eat like a bird, having a few bits of vegetables, fish, or fruit. It's not because I want to maintain my slim, sporty figure, but because I don't need large portions of meals. It makes me feel sick, like I could vomit. My luvs, on the contrary, eat like they're starving. But they still make me smile, and they have been cute when kissing each other while having mouths full of pork ribs and having unctuous faces. My Fran doesn't see it as cute, and he teases them to go on our beach, light the fire, and grill snakes and lizards, for it is what barbarians do.

"The Running Man" movie from 1987 with A.S. is waaaaaaaay better than the remake.

There's a remake?  Ugh.

Hollywood has run out of good ideas, ages ago.  The last time I went to the movie theater was when Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi debuted.  Remakes are just more proof how in terrible shape the movie industry is.

I don't understand why Marvel comics chose the word Avengers. Even when Steve Rogers Captain America explains it the name still doesn't make sense to me. Like are they Avengers as well as other things or what?

> Rarely, some remakes were better than the original. "Total Recall" (2012), the remake with C.F., is only better in movie effects than the one with A.S. from 1990. Collin is a good actor, but Arny is Arny, as we call him in our country.

> Last night, the five of us and my Fran watched "The Red One" (2024) movie again. Everyone liked it, but the movie divided us into two groups. The one who supported Santa and his team (me, my Fran, and Precious) and the one who supported Grlyla, the girl who kidnapped Santa (My prince, my Ivy, and Mikey), to punish all who were bad. We didn't argue; we simply presented reasons why we support our favorites. Although I disagreed with my luvs, I understand why they supported Gryla. They strongly believe that good deeds should be rewarded and bad deeds should be punished. It doesn't mean they wouldn't offer a second chance, but the people who don't care about warnings and appeals to stop being a menace deserve to be punished.

Why do you think I won't be caught dead watching anything in the movie theater these days anymore?  I've taken to just watching my own collection, usually movies/tv series between 1995 through 2012 or so.  Everything else sucks so much ass these days that the suction could probably vacuum shit off one the planets in the Alpha Centauri star cluster 40 million light years away.

I don't think sucky movies are responsible for the remake plague. It has more to do with investors being too cowardly to invest in anything but existing IPs.

That's true, there doesn't seem to be any innovation anymore.  Studios are just content with just making, "safe," content rather than trying to innovate and make something new.  The same can be said for certain video game developers.  Have you noticed many Triple A studios are just doing remakes and reimagines rather than making any new IP's?  All the while new IP's are slowly becoming rarer than golden unicorns with diamond hooves.  Mind you there are a few indie developers that are at least trying.  Where Wind Meet and Arc Raiders are two examples of indie studios going down their own roads to success.

We kind of live in a sad age of stagnation.

My entire life I thought I would never keep pictures of people that I loved and died, it seemed a bit macabre to me. But now that I'm old and my shelf has the pictures of the deceased, I can't imagine not having those pictures of them around.

I wish I could have kept one picture of my late mother; I'm starting to forget what her face looks like.  But my sister hoarded them all.
