Z0mBieP00Nani Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Can we have the G.E.C.K. already, or is this some kind of twisted April fools joke?
2Dimm Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 they will probably launch after the dlcs that they announced
Akzyra Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 ^^ this: Or some modder makes a mod where the DLC in comparison are insignificant. They can't have that, they wouldn't sell their DLC.
Halstrom Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Can we have more "Want GECK now" threads cause the devs are setting the date by the number of GECK related posts on overcluttered forums.............
pinkpunkt Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Can we have more GECK want it now threads cause the devs are setting the date by the number of GECK related posts on forums............. I could fullfill your wish, if you want <3
Baron Of Hell Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I prefer placing putting "Want GECK Now" sticky notes on random cars and buildings.
srayesmanll Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 It's Dec 25th, 12:00:01 am - where the hell's my pony, Santa?!?!?!
Jusey1 Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Bethesda is working on putting everything onto Bethesda.net website, which is basically them getting GECK ready. As the plan is that people can share mods via Bethesda.net, which in turn can be shared to XONE players as well (I'm assuming PS4 players too but don't know if Sony confirmed or not. All I know is that Sony hates the idea of mods). While at the same time releasing the Survival Mode update for Fallout 4, working on Wasteland Workshop DLC, and working on Far Harbor DLC. They are doing a lot of work and are probably trying their best to work on everything to get them all out in time and correctly. You also gotta remember, due to them allowing mods for the consoles finally, they have to work with Microsoft (and possibly Sony) to allow their systems be able to connect to Bethesda.net some-how (though most likely via FO4 game itself or an App) AND allowing their systems to be able to load up and properly play mods. That is A LOT on their shoulders right now, and honestly... Complaining "I want it NOW!" isn't going to help at all as it might just get them to rush it out, and we all know that rushing things out is a terrible idea.
gregathit Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 It's Dec 25th, 12:00:01 am - where the hell's my pony, Santa?!?!?! Pony....??? Pony....??? We don't need no sticking ponies!!!! What Santa needs to pull out of his ass RIGHT NOW is this:
Captain Cobra Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 It'll release next month goy, we promise. :^)
gregathit Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Dildo bat in action: Click only if you dare.....it ain't pretty...... Super Mutants are toast!
Userper Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Lol, that's still a better use for it than what I was thinking.
Snazzishoez Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 It's Dec 25th, 12:00:01 am - where the hell's my pony, Santa?!?!?! Pony....??? Pony....??? We don't need no sticking ponies!!!! What Santa needs to pull out of his ass RIGHT NOW is this: Ouch. That's a big one. But yeah, as most have said, I agree with the general idea that they are waiting until the DLC content is done. After that I don't think they'll worry about sales as much.
CanadianBlueBeer Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 They did say it was to come between DLC1 and DLC2. This was expected to be in april. Well, DLC1 is out. However, no word yet of DLC2. I'm hoping it's within the next 2 weeks. (but I'm NOT holding my breath)

It's not like there is a competitive online aspect to worry about.. Then again I did read somewhere they won't let people change their gamer tag name for fear of it allowing people to troll... and then they go and allow a game like Demon's Souls to be released.. *I'll always regret NOT cutting the game off as soon as that asshole who invaded my game ran off to a place I couldn't reach him for 10 or 15 seconds, healed his self, and then returned to knock me off the edge of the map with more powerful gear switched on and full a health bar after I was one swing from beating him... Won't be making THAT mistake again. You invade my game to challenge me, then you better show up equipped to win, or else you forfeit the match in my book.* Also besides that, people STILL troll online so that excuse is.. kind of moot.
Ernest Lemmingway Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Or some modder makes a mod where the DLC in comparison are insignificant. They can't have that, they wouldn't sell their DLC. If they continue to alienate computer players, they may not have to worry about mods. At all. Pete Hines has already stated that user mods will need to be made on computers; Bethesda.net is just a distribution platform for console versions. We know he and Todd Howard are liars on par with politicians, but from a logistical standpoint it makes sense: consoles do not have the flexibility and capabilities full computers do. So user mods will have to be made by those who own computer copies of the game. Thus they're already alienating the same people who will be making mods. Plus console users will likely only be able to use mods found on Bethesda.net; how many mods won't be hosted there because they violate Bethesda's standards in some way? How long will console players have to wait for before mods that are hosted become available there after they're already released for computer users? Or after their paid download fiasco on Steam, will they charge for downloads? Many, many modders already made it clear they'll take their creations somewhere else rather than let some company make a profit on the work they want to share for free. I give Bethesda points for ambition, but not for a well-executed plan. It would have been better to have their platform ready to go before the game went live. Not to mention the noise Sony is giving them about potentially not supporting mods. Should have had that worked out beforehand as well. Hell, maybe they did plan on getting this all worked out but Zenimax forced an early release to cash in on the 2015 Xmas rush and told Bethesda to salvage things?
gregathit Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Is that what your avatar is looking for? Did it get lost in there? I was wondering if anyone would put that one together...........
Jusey1 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Sony's strongly against mods?... Why? I'm not sure but before E3 last year, Bethesda was trying to get into contact with both Microsoft and Sony about mods coming to the consoles, and only Microsoft agreed to it. At the time, Sony seems to be strongly against the idea of mods being on their console, and I am not entirely sure honestly. This is why during E3, Todd Howard only announced the mods for the Xbox One during Microsoft's showcase. He didn't got Sony to agree at the timing. Possibly by now, Sony is in on the idea (most likely because of Microsoft being in on it though).

Well, it wouldn't be the first thing Sony did that didn't make allot of sense regarding the PS4, like allowing you to use your own pictures for as a personalized background, or reverse compatibility. Microsoft decided to enable reverse compatibility on the Xbone, while Sony seemed to brag in a Twitter post a little while ago about how they were the only system to still NOT have reverse compatibility, as if that's something to be proud of... Though supposedly they later allowed reverse compatibility to some degree, because.. who likes re-buying a game they already spent money on two, or three, or more years ago just to be able to play it again on "the latest and greatest" system? (though I haven't tested this myself yet)

Possibly by now, Sony is in on the idea (most likely because of Microsoft being in on it though). I don't know if they are and don't really care since console = shit. However, I completely understand Sony's stance in this. Who wouldn't? Consoles are more of a little kid's thing despite adults do own it. But in comparison to the PC I would say more minors play on console than they do on the PC. So, taking a risk by allowing mods in your console system knowing that there's been all kinds of mods, but specifically mods out there that are not very welcomed to that young crowd. All it takes is one slip and a huge ass controversy arises. And it would create a massive backlash towards Sony. Taking the necessary time to think whether this is a good or bad idea, is logical. Because mods may increase revenue for console more than it is going right now, it could seriously jeopardize them more than it may be a win. They could be taking that step back and seeing how it goes with Microsoft first just to take precaution measures. That's actually smart. Let the pawn (MS) go in first. That way, if something viral happens, Sony had no part of it. Or if everything goes smooth, Sony may give in and allow that functionality into their console system.

Now that you mention it that kind of makes sense, I didn't look at it from that perspective. It is true that we live in a world now a days where it's far too easy to sue or to outright ruin people over the smallest thing. As far as Microsoft being a pawn though, they are getting out of the console market anyway, if I remember correctly, so if you're right that might explain why they aren't as worried as Sony to jump on the modding bandwagon. As far as consoles go, they server their purpose. For me, if there is a game I'm interested in playing and it has online support I'll usually get it for console, if it's a game I'm interested in and all it has is a story mode, a modding community around it, and better deals on Steam, then I'll usually get it for PC.

As long as there're comprehensive mods, I'd always go for PC version. Mods>>>>>>>>>everything, gamers can make better games than game devs themselves.
Jusey1 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 gamers can make better games than game devs themselves. That is incorrect by far. Gamers don't make better games, they make the games MORE to their own preferences with mods. Huge difference.
Guest endgameaddiction Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Without GECK, Fallout would be just another game put away and left to rot. And without unofficial patches and GECK, BSG wouldn't be where they are right now. Okay, okay.... that last part is a lie. But most gamers wouldn't be supporting their rotten pc version. Console gamers don't care. It's all the same to them so it would be because of the console BSG is still alive if that was the case.
