Hmmm, it's weird, cause it happened once, but every other time, it's been the female with stallion one. I looked at the code, and puzzling it out by just taking literal interpretation to it, it seems like the chances of it bringing up the wrong gender event are completely nullified. Which begs the question, how is it happening? Assuming the factor = 0 check is what makes sure this doesn't happen, and the coding is correct, then there should be no possibility. Again, your comments in the code help me figure it out, but It's still like reading Japanese kanji when all you know is the Anglo-Saxon alphabet. Or advanced chemistry, when all you know is high school biology. I have no male commanders to test it with, I tend to use female commanders that I ordered to take the vows, so I have the fun little knowledge that i'm seducing warrior nuns, but I think pagan religions don't have that, so no warrior priestesses for me this playthrough.

Side note, I didn't mention this earlier because I didn't really care, and honestly, I still don't, but some people who play the cruel tyrant type might have a slight issue with this: When blinding in the vanilla game, the eyes for characters being blinded are blacked out. About 3 major updates back, the mod still did this as well, but now, blinded characters don't have that happening. Again, I don't care, I typically either enslave or blood moon ritual the prisoners I have. I first noticed this happening when one of my vassals imprisoned another of my vassals. Two years later, I checked the realms character opinions, found one of my vassals pissed to high heaven with another, and part of it was "He blinded me" or whatever, and I was like "Wait.... but he has eyes..... he's blinded? uhhhh what?". Problem was, that guy was one of my strongest vassals, martial wise. Long story short, I have no idea what's going on here, but if I had to guess, part of the ReMeDy's portrait replacement could potentially be drawing on the same parts as the layer that adds blinded effects. Is this possible?

Hey Dew. Is there a possibility traps could get their own portraits? It's just weird to see all my trap courtiers be fully bearded.

the only way to change that, and it's something that you can possibly do on your end; is use ReMeDy's portrait mod. I think it comes with instructions for use

It likely was the latest update to the ReMeDy mod when it expanded the number of potential images.

On my end, since we're already doing a certain level of visualization make believe in some circumstances, I personally have zero issues with the blind not actually having their eyes turned into burnt smudges. Others who don't like that would need to choose between smudge eyes or the DW ReMeDy mod.

If you weren't aware of it, there is a DLC that addresses that, and it's presently on sale during the Steam Summer Sale.

Ah, I may have found the issue with the stable confusion. I've an error in the localization. One of the options that is supposed to be there is to watch a commoner in the show. I have that option using the same exact localization entry as the option above it for the commander. The commoner is a woman, so it could clearly be the confusion.

Ah my bad for not clarifying. I meant in the case where an event spawns a courtier who is a trap. I know I can shave my characters, it's NPCs I can't alter. This is just a tiny thing so it's no big. Just a random suggestion.

Like Jack Archer mentioned, you're looking at having to create your own custom ReMeDy portrait pack.

Or you could do what I do when I spawn in a courtier that I don't like how they look. I marry them to someone outside of my court so I no longer have to look at them. :)

This is Crusader Kings 2, where you can go medieval on someone's ass and get prided for it. I've taken lover's poxed courtiers and married them off to courtiers in other lands same with other sick courtiers.

I've also spread disease within some of my court, just so I could marry them off to other healthy courts as a means of weakening them. CK2's version of the small pox riddled blanket.

You can also send genetically fucked bastards out to fuck up the gene pools of rivals for that extra zing.

And thus we know that it was truly the Emperor who laid forth the seeds of Chaos. ;)

Courtesy of the Eugenics & Christianity mods, gene manipulation became my bread and butter.  Add to that the Omega Male modifier on some of my sons during werewolf runs and I managed to destroy the Byzantine infrastructure long enough to take over after pushing through Italy.  The art of ruthless calculus if I'm not mistaken.

I should get to those mercenary companies

That's intentional to get my static portrait overlays to work, assuming the modder chooses to use that property slot. You'll also notice red_dots, scars, and boils have also been disabled, and if for whatever reason you play multiplayer, the purple vignette gfx will also be gone. Your comment though is a testament to how right I am in that it took you that long to notice, and even when you did, you don't seem to care, so hopefully you'll agree having static portrait support is better than those very rare moments of seeing someone blinded, scarred, etc. The blinded gfx looks ugly, the scars you can barely notice, no one in their right mind plays CKII multiplayer, and as for red_dots and boils?... I have never seen it happen in-game in my 800 hours of playing. Having said that, if you want the gfx back, do not play with the portrait pack, or mod out the portraits from the blinded property slot.

Paradox did a very shitty job providing portrait support in CKII, which is why I commend them for doing a complete 180 with Stellaris -- it's laughably easy to get portraits into Stellaris.

Alright, while this week didn't see much get done due to other obligations, today has been a good one. I should have an update out tonight or tomorrow.

It's the Fairy Tale mod with a trio of fixes for little things people brought up, plus I'm going to try and complete another one of the Beauty and the Beast paths, so out of the four intended 'paths' that 3 of the 4 would be playable through to resolution.

Nice to hear but, as always, no need to rush things.  Be sure to come up for air when you need to and hopefully I speak for more than myself when I say that weekly/bi-weekly updates aren't mandatory.  A progress report might work better if it's a few minor things but still, just my opinion.

If it wasn't a trio of bug fixes, I wouldn't have sweated getting something out. But the fixes weren't difficult, so I figured I may as well squash them, and I was in the mood to do a bit more.

Found something, probaly intentional, but still.

with the visit stables decision, it checks for ALL realm commanders, so you may get one of your commanders (on a small realm this usually happens). Or a commander of a vassal of a vassal of a vassal that you didnt know existed until it popped up fucking a horse, not to mention he is in the other side of the empire.

so you may visit hundreds of times and still not see any of your own appointed "commanders"

About to post the update. Here's the Change Log for it:

v1.35 (DW Fairy Tales)
    - Fixed an issue where Belle and Gaston weren't being properly assigned as lovers
    - Modified the Spend Time with Belle targeted decision to allow visit with her if she's a consort as well
    - Had a bad check that was confusing the Go Hunting option
    - Beauty and the Beast, third path completed (corruption)

Posted

found a bug, corruption path for belle leads to a loop where you kill the beast, then she tells you to kill the beast, but the village does congratulate you.

Posted

Can confirm what soulcleave said.

So the route is:

Give Kama Sutra to Belle (corruption 1?) -> visit Belle afterward (corruption 1) (event 460) -> Belle reveals the Beast's threat (corruption 2) (event 461) -> Player decides to keep Belle (corruption 2) (event 467)

Visit the village and find Belle (event 130) -> Tell Belle that the player will hunt the Beast him/herself (event 470) (corruption 2) ->gets flagged as dw_beast_slain (corruption 2) -> Visit the cobbler shop (event 120 and 122) (still corruption 2) -> See where Belle is (event 130) -> Loop back into sharing the plan for keeping Belle (event 470)

The culprit is this: event 120 registers dw_beast_slain -> event 122 (the cobbler says thank you) -> event 130 (Find Belle, it registers the corruption level 2 and decision to keep Belle) -> event 470 (planing to keep Belle).

So if the Beast is killed via hunting (no Gaston), the corruption 2 needs to become affection 3 to exit the loop and keep the Belle. Or, alternatively (and probably better i.m.o), you need to divide the corruption level 3 into 3a and 3b, where 3a is for keeping Belle and 3b is for sharing Belle. Once the Beast is vanquished, Belle's corruption level becomes 3a she becomes your whore/wife/concubine/lover/etc.

I've also noticed that Belle doesn't become your lover if she was taken from her home, dooming the village. I don't think this was your intention since you described her as "subservient."

Edit: just noticed the event 490, where corruption 3 and keeping Belle is a thing. However, event 490 is still about planning how to deal with the Beast, not about taking Belle as your prize. The only difference between 470 and 490 is that instead of hunting, seducing takes its place.

If the corruption is strictly for making Belle a whore for your pimp character, I guess you can just simply replace 470 with 490 altogether. But, and I can't believe I'm actually saying this, I get this "50 shades of Grey" vibe from corruption/keep Belle route. In that case, the player can kill the Beast and do all kinds of kinky stuff with Belle as the prize I guess (corruption version of "Spend time with Belle"?). My other suggestion would be the player becoming something worse than the Beast after killing him and having Belle as your hostage/accomplice (Stockholm syndrome?, you did portray Belle as an impressionable character :P). For instance, after killing the Beast, the player may proclaim that sacrifice will continue, but this time it is for the player. After doing so, visiting the village will becomes extorting the village and the player can do lots of evil/tyrannical stuff whenever visiting.

Is it latest update bug or just incompatibility with CK2Plus that none of the portrait traits work (but Wounded trait gives Joker or Harley portrait)?

Or did I myself manage to screw something up (again)?

Go into your CK2+ folder and delete "portrait properties" in the gfx folder.

Hey Dew. Will we be getting male wizards? If so is one of them going to be Harry Potter?

PS. Random suggestion. Maybe also permit "famous" wizards to show up and ask to be your court wizard. Like Gandalf?

Posted

wow, uhhh that's definitely one of the two. If CK2plus does anything to the portraits, then it's incompatibility, if not, then you might want to wipe your mod folder and reinstall. I'd check the info on ck2plus first, then try starting a game with only the DW reborn mods, and if that shows normal, slowly add each mod you are wanting to use and see when the problem begins to show up. Good luck.
