fishface60 Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 No idea about the stable part. The stable decision has the requirement of a global flag being in place, which is set in the Marshall's morale idea event. Unless CK2 managed to somehow not clear its global flags from your previous session, I don't see how it could be there. Doesn't look like you're limiting the event to only the player's Marshall.
xanbalest Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Whoa.... okay, so continuing, I decided to start a slightly later save to test a theory. I think I figured out the multi spawn bug. This time through, i now have 3 Ariels, Grimhilts, and Snow Whites. I think the "On start" check is activating due to loading up the campaign.
soulcleave Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 i just realised how everything is a one-time only event(except for campaign selection). dont think you can put like a hundred year cooldown or something, so future rulers can get em too, not just you current one?
Mythaltir Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 you can use campaign selection more than once? isnt it checking against a global flag?
soulcleave Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 you can use campaign selection more than once? isnt it checking against a global flag? yeah you know what, i think i forgot a word or two there, i think faster than i type and sometimes some words et lost xD upon re-reading, i cant figure out what word i missed, but yeah thats a one-time only event too(unless you re-trigger it with console)
xanbalest Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 it's supposed to be, but something is causing it to pop, and the only difference I had was the number of times i'd saved and reloaded the game. I'm willing to bet if I saved and reloaded at a year out, it'd start popping again.
Mythaltir Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Yep any event on_startup will trigger when you start playing. Be it at the begining when you create the game or when you load a game. that why for events that you only want to happen on game start, you add a global flag and its appropiate check. but for the NPCs i dont find it a problem if there are several copies of them among the years, that is placeholder content as of now.
xanbalest Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 ah, okay, so that's why. i thought on startup meant once only per campaign or game or whatever. I honestly don't really have a problem if it happens on load up, it means i can have them later on, as concubines or wives for my later characters. But I thought it was a bug in the program that it was happening so often. My bad.

bodosaher Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Hey dewguru, Thanks for an awesome mod, I had some thoughts that I wanted to share with you that I believe would make the mod a bit more awesome: 1- An event chain inside the Spend Time With event that contain few sexual interactions until the male climaxes (Inside or outside of the female). 2- An event where the spouse or a lover suggests to Spend Time With the player and afterwards a positive or a negative opinion based on the players choice. 3- Limiting the whoring events for counties that contain the Bordello improvement. Cant wait to know what you think about all this

Cant wait to know what you think about all this 1 Sounds like one of those things Dew does when he gets a random boost of motivation. 2 Sounds like one of those mini things Dew implements during a "might as well moment". Though 3? I don't see enough whores since they were implemented. I notice like 5 women with the trait, but still get commoners.
Mythaltir Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 3- Limiting the whoring events for counties that contain the Bordello improvement. right now it works like this, more or less.
Master023 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Probably is just me screwing up, but Fenris his event DWNight.1110 keeps on giving me an empty event every month. player_event= { id=5 event="DWNight.1110" days=0 scope= { char=507553 seed=2099932128 random=2099932128 } primary=yes } character_action=668 vc_data="CK2/branches/2_4_3\n25841\n" }
xanbalest Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 So the New site bugged out and we're back here again. I hope this doesn't cause issues.

Outside of trying to run it with an older version, the only other time I've seen a blank event was when I borked something up. Since you're the first to bring up something that others have been using for a while, it leads me to believe you're either running a version less than the current one, or you've hit on something new - which has no real data for trying to troubleshoot yet.
dewguru Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 So the New site bugged out and we're back here again. I hope this doesn't cause issues. Yeah, it's a bummer to as unlike the last attempt, I wasn't having any problems this time around, so I was rather optimistic.
dewguru Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 Heads-up on this weekend's DW Creatures of Night update. In an attempt to shape some potential posts, when I release the DW Creatures of Night update, the Werewolf Hunting options have been expanded upon with a number of new options, with many placeholders now having actual content. However, things aren't going to be balanced. Some hunt options that now have content, have a limited amount of options, so some have a higher chance of easy success, while others have a high chance of bodily harm with the potential for death. Over time, as more events are added, these extremes should balance out. Just be careful. The one that may be the most 'fair' in terms of options would be hunting animals. It'll have the most event variety.
xanbalest Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Awesome to hear, i'm sure the werewolf players are already slavering at the thought. ..... yes, bad joke was intentional..... I'll be over here.

It'll have the most event variety. Will you add a similar "hunt" event for the vampires or will that be something entirely different? (Of course, when you add more for the vampires) Vampires are going to be a little bit different. I'm thinking about making them a little less prone to potential self destruction, and have to deal a little more with pitchfork and torches rising up against them. The rationalization may not be the greatest, but for the most part, werewolves don't feed on humans, save rare exceptions when they go feral - and a feral werewolf is also the enemy of normal werewolves. While a vampire uses humans as cattle, making them a greater threat in the grand scheme of things that go bump in the night. On top of that, a werewolf doesn't have mind control. Sure, they've a pheromone and aura that can make a human a bitch, but it doesn't prevent someone from defending themselves if they're attacked. Meanwhile a vampire can make a thrall that wouldn't fight back, and other mind altering effects like seduction that are more obvious than a succubus/incubus's methods, once again giving them the edge in being a threat against mankind over werewolves. How exactly that will be captured in game mechanics... I can't really say, other than I've a few ideas that I'm going to try and see how they work out.
rerun1983 Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Would it be worth investigating some sort of adoption mechanic for vampiric bloodlines for DW Creatures of the Night? In most vampiric literature I've read or know of, the sire has to create its offspring with a deliberate act. Choosing a childe might offer an an awful lot of potential for intrigue.Choosing your childe for the perfect traits has its own advantages but event chains could balance it out. The seduction played out, of course (Event chain 1). In becoming a part of a different dynasty parents, siblings and spouses will get royally hacked off prompting monster hunts, or even casus belli at the extreme ends. (Event chain 2) At the other end of the scale, the extremely rare offspring of a vampire elder might have a higher chance of becoming a monster hunter if treated poorly (event chain 3). I'm poor at writing code, but I think I could have a hack at some Vampire events for later release.
soulcleave Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 what i would personally love for vamps, is a chain where someone(random person, courtier or even a council member/vassel) comes to you in search of power. then you slowly give him powers and at the end he becomes a full fledged vamp, with the chance of appointing him an heir? i feel like that would suit the most lore-wise
DorianOtten Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Is it possible to have sex with slaves I keep? other than making them a whore and going to the brothel and hoping for the best?
TriggerBlade Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Is it possible to have sex with slaves I keep? other than making them a whore and going to the brothel and hoping for the best? Not at the moment. Dew tends to rotate the module he focuses on to ensure everything gets fair attention. Court and Commerce got a big update with gladiator and whoring, I doubt we'll get another one until after he updates Creatures of the Night and Lilith. Though he could have one of his moments of inspiration or "might as well" moment if something he's doing is similar enough in coding.
