Ahhhh I use NVidia's Shadow Play. 

 

It comes with their cards.  If you don't have an NVidia card then OBS would work.

I was using PCEA2 to do it, it's honestly super convenient for that.

If you have an AMD card, you can record video using ReLive which is part of Radeon Software. They've recently added a feature to export video to Gif while you're in-game.
