I seriously don't understand why people can't even accept if others tell them "No, I really don't need this, believe it or not"

already read that somewhere

oh, that was when i was taking a look at the readme

vre0HkM.jpg

well... readme is useless

only thing i want to know is what does that thing can do better than the rest, didn't saw anything about that

saw that too

it make a backup of your data folder, in case it don't work and you want to go back to older nmm (it's an alpha)

but that alpha have replace the previous nmm download

if you can't find the previous nmm download, and it don't work, you are in deep shit

look like you better make a copy paste of your folder too since some are saying the backup fail

I have always used NMM, mainly because it was the first of the two I learned about, and because it works with other games too. It works fine for me, so never thought about changing it. However, trying to update to the new 0.60 version screwed up my mods and I had to reinstall an old version of NMM and manually reinstall all my mods again... :dodgy: So for anyone else still running older versions, update it at your own risk.

If I didn't have tons of experience of NMM treating my data folder like a chewed up dog's toy I might have been tempted to try it out.

At this point unless NMM suddenly became vastly superior to MO I wouldn't switch back. I understand the perspective of those who say NMM fits their needs and they don't need MO's features- because I'm very satisfied with MO currently and don't see the few issues I have with the tool being soved by NMM any time soon.

To be honest I don't understand why MO has this reputation of being so hard to learn. The tutorials and such that come bundled with the program are nice, and the STEP wiki is pretty informative too. I haven't had nearly as much trouble with learning it as, say, Wrye Bash.

Having used both, I am sticking with MO. For ME, it is absolutely 10,000% better than NMM.

Even not being a modder, I can see Kimmy's point. If you have a base set-up with what you are using, and are only changing one thing that you are working on, it is easy to find and do whatever with in NMM because it is all right in the data folder. Period. Hell, I still can't find my base body files in MO if I want to add them to a new follower.

However.... For someone like me, that pretty much knows nothing about modding, MO is a lot better because everything is separated. That way when I rush to try that new awesome gotta have it right now mod that is still in alpha, I don't have to do yet ANOTHER install of skyrim because I toasted my current one somehow and can't figure out what got overwritten, or is in the wrong order, or didn't get removed..... Pretty much everything that MO helps me figure out in my own idiocy of modding.

MO was harder for me to get set up initially, and was more confusing at first than NMM. Once I got it figured out it works much better for my needs.  But not everyone has the same needs.

Some people want one-step push-button modding (eyeroll), as I know that Realvision is installed through NMM (instead of it being installed with the binaries first then presets).

ill stick to using NMM, dont know nothing about this MO that everyone talks about but i never had any probs with NMM at all, even this new version that came out, of course to fix my conflicts with certain mods i also use Wrye Bash, TESSedit and LOOT. but maybe ill take a look at this Mod Manager just to see what it does.

If you experiment at all with your installation folder NMM will be a nightmare.  ( /shudder ... the memories of completely re-installing my setup multiple times)

MO's virtual setup is fast and easy and keeps you from EVER having to completely nuke your installation and start over.  Even with a profile system the NMM style of installation is vastly inferior to MO.

The only thing I wish MO could do that it does not is the ability to create working hyperlinks to mods that are not on Nexus.

IMO Mod Organizer is vastly vastly superior to NMM until the latter uses a virtual drive system as well.

MO is very intuitive after a while and becomes an indispensable part of organizing folders

As of v0.60 NMM does use a virtualization system, that's the reason for this comparison ;)

I'm happy with Mod Organizer. Enough to never want to ditch it for any other mod manager. Especially NMM.

I suspect many are giving Mod Organizer a chance and seeing the real wonders it can do after having that bad experience with NMM and the latest update.

Dose no one use Wrye Bash anymore?

I use it for My Steam version of Oblivion.

I also still use BAIN for repackaging some Mods in the Bethesda Fallouts, Oblivion, and Skyrim.

No manual installation option? I must be a dying breed.

Blame Astrid for sending Your Brothers and Sisters to try killing the Dragonborn :P

Oh my mistake I thought it was only changing so you could use different profiles.

I am with Kimmy here.  I hate managing virtual local folder even more so than virtual drive.  I don't play with multiple profiles and don't need the extra layer of hassles.  Knowing the proper file structure and learning what each mod does is far more fun than managing pointers.  Skyrim is a single player game, not enterprising app for overlapping work groups.

MO is a better tool but its users' overt superior than thou attitude toward NMM users is a turnoff for me as well.  LL is a good example.  Since I got here as a mod noob I've seen two kinds of "help".  The ones that just said use MO as soon as the word NMM appeared and those that actually took the time asking questions and explaining solutions.  The later are often MO users but their willingness to teach rather than gloat is what makes this place great.  I get the urge to showoff because I have nice stuff too but this is like seeing someone with nail gun in Habitat for Humanity sneering at people still using hammer...

Having said that now NMM is foregoing simplicity and going the virtual folder route, I likely will switch to MO with FO4 :P

I use both MO and manual installations, but the manual ones are always to update or overlay items in those mods I've installed via MO.

Does that count?

I do wonder why a Mod Organiser User would not take the time to adjust the Priority of Updates or turning a tweak or two into a new Mod through Mod Organiser, but I also try and keep My left Pane clean and organised. I do not like having just an updated esm file or an updated nif file taking a slot.

Don't have any problems with nexus im with the stupid using NEXUS.

But i know the rediculous hate for nexus here is kind of sad but hey your free whatever you wanne use ;)

This is what people sending to NEXUS staff how sad can you be fucking LOSERS.

=======================================================================================

We're struggling to actually ascertain how many people it hasn't worked for because most people are focusing on sending us insults, hate, or, in some cases, death threats (yes, death threats...I can't help but laugh at the stupidity of it). Righ ...

=======================================================================================

I hope no LL members doing this because there smart and mature and have some social intelligents?
