greyscale Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 I'm surprised how many cares so much how the game look on consoles, remember Skyrim for those boxes? Bethesda have never been good at optimizing their games on consoles, sure the current toaster boxes might be able to do better(doesn't seem like it though), but I rather see some screenshots from the PC version that doesn't use low settings. They might have taken those screenshots on a low-end machine and/or by turning some of the graphical settings down, at least I hope that was the case. I think it's also possible that the version that they've been playing is still unfinished. Otherwise, I agree, it's probably a joke. You can see it's on the playstation from the dialog.
Nixea Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 There's something pretty weird about the consistency in quality of the leaked screenshots so far. Some look amazing, others remind me of how much I had to tone down the graphics on my old machine when I tried to play Fallout 3 for the first time.
bjornk Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 You can see it's on the playstation from the dialog.Right, I didn't think they all came from the same source. Well, the PS4 version looks pretty bad then. I suppose the xbox version will be even worse.

Maybe because some are from the ps4 , while others are unknown.

I think it was pretty much confirmed that they were taken from a ps4. Those screenshots are really low quality and washed up but it seems that playstation owners are getting screwed up by bethesda again, because the gameplay and screnshot from xbox1 didn't look that ugly even though in theory it should be the oppsite.
Gameplayer Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 Well looks like the Gamma is turned up too high in those screen shots. Also uh ENB shadows has really spoiled me haha get those deep strong contrasts with just the ENB shadow feature and well I like to use the Imaginator mod which gives direct control over a lot of things like Contrast, Brightness, Saturation and others. Plus the ENB gave control over how light dark an interior and exterior space could be based on time of day. Also I really mean hour of day.
Kargrin Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Oh, about the screenshot: the leaker said the compression was horrid, so you cant take as the in game quality. Also: -No repairs -Contextual cover -Theft system is skyrim like -Survival mode does not come with fatigue/thirst/hunger like Hardcore mode in NV -Dialogue options with which you can talk yourself out of situations are colored orange/red/perhaps more
bjornk Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Also: -No repairs -Contextual cover -Theft system is skyrim like -Survival mode does not come with fatigue/thirst/hunger like Hardcore mode in NV -Dialogue options with which you can talk yourself out of situations are colored orange/red/perhaps more Ugh, say no more. This is clearly more of an action game and less of an RPG.
Nixea Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Seems like E3 was yesterday. I actually like how we found out about the game so late, waiting 2 years for a release just about sucks (looking at you, Bioware).
ElectricSheep Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 So far everything in accordance with what I expected: the game comes off as a decent hiking simulator with shallow quests and story, not-so-great visuals, unnecessary voice acting (that had to take its toll on complexity), and the settlements thing which is a wrong feature in a wrong game. Hopefully it's going to be fun to mod.

ElectricSheep Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 And all of this based on a few blurred screenshots? Leaks, screenshots, videos, official information, Bethesda previous games. No godly deduction needed.
Jarka Ruus Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 And all of this based on a few blurred screenshots? Leaks, screenshots, videos, official information, Bethesda previous games. No godly deduction needed. Leaks= blurred videos and screenshots that don'r show anything that we didn't know already. The official information consist basically in what we saw from e3 and the really small trickle of informations that bethesda bestowed upon us, in the end we know next to nothing about the plot. About voice acting and settlements that is merely a subjective opinion. The graphics looked horrible in those ps4 screenshots, mostly because of low-res textures, low-poly meshes and a disturbing lack of shadows, though at least textures and shadows won't be a problem in the pc version, while for the meshes it'll take some time.
ElectricSheep Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Leaks= blurred videos and screenshots that don'r show anything that we didn't know already. There good and bad quality screenshots, but by "leaks" I meant the impressions that various people who already play the game share on the Internet - and they pretty much confirm each other. How a game looks is not only about the quality of its graphics, but also (if not mostly) about the art direction and overall feeling. Take Silent Hill 2 for example: After alll these years it still looks amazing and incredibly atmospheric, without a shitton of eye melting post processing filters and enbs.
shadowlord445 Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 According to this, no paid mods. http://gamingbolt.com/fallout-4-no-stone-has-been-left-unturned-wont-have-any-paid-mods

Kargrin Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Careful! Read at your own discretion: Your wife/husband is killed Your son is taken by some EVIL SHADY PEOPLE "Have you seen my dad son?" Welcome to the main plot!
bjornk Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Careful! Read at your own discretion: Your wife/husband is killed Your son is taken by some EVIL SHADY PEOPLE "Have you seen my dad son?" Welcome to the main plot! Oh, how very creative! Who would want a goddam child in a game, let alone spend the whole game trying to find it?! If that's indeed the main plot then the game is already dead to me. Also reminds me of Sandra Reed's description of how the game begins, wife dead, robots/androids killing and kidnapping people. Also, how can I have mindless sex here and there if I'm to find the goddamn kid? Way to kill people's libido! Grrr!
panthercom Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Same to you, buddy and yes, I'm joking here Careful! bjornk Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Hope that kid is killable...Ugh, probably not...
Guest Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Come on, @bjornk, do you really play the game to save the princess? I play the game to enjoy it. The final goal for me is forgotten after a few hours. Of course games need an "objective" but how important the "final objective" is? Zero in my humble opinion. Let's enjoy this game in less than 2 weeks. (I am still doubtful I can download the game on day 1.) ((Please, no offense is intended in my comment))
bjornk Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 If I ever buy this game, I'm going to make that kid killable and change the objective as "find that little bugger and kill it 10 times in the most gruesome way possible". How about that? Sound like a worthy goal. For ruining my sex life, of course.
RitualClarity Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 That outfit looks way washed-out, flat and horrible really. Edit: It may be because of a visual FX though (the NPC you wish to interact with looks washed-out when selected). Yes.. yes.. yes.. first thought is "dam that is ugly".. I hope the pc version is better.
