Well don't want to sound harsh but compared to typical ECE faces , RM chars are fugly..... No wonder why vast majority of follower/companion authors use ECE - it's very easy to create cute char with reasonable amount of time.

 

Well, you failed in not wanting to sound harsh. There are nicer ways to explain a point of view and not sound like a pompous jerk. Besides how can you tell what's been made with ECE and what's been made with RM?

ECE is also script heavy and does most of the heavy lifting for you first.  It's why the vast majority of the follower/companion authors' characters look the same.  If you don't know what you are actually doing and don't feel like learning anything new, then ECE is perfectly fine for you.

 

 

So you basically implying that those ECE followers creators are lazy and they "don't know what they are doing" ?  It isn't about "don't feel like learning anything new".  Spending hours on RM slider tweaking to get beauty lvl slightly similiar to that of ECE which is acheviable in 5min - it's called effieciency.

Stop feeding this troll.  There are numerous threads for people to debate RM and ECE (the arguments are pretty much circular at this point).  This guy came in intentionally to derail a sharing thread for no other purpose than trolling.

Simple example.  Note how all of this author's followers look the same.  He only really changes eyes and hair styles with any frequency, and occasionally changes the mouths.  If you look at the pictures of all the followers together, they start to look exactly the same.  The hair and face paint are a paper thin cover for this lack of actual variety.  If you want factory reproduction for the sake of efficiency that is perfectly fine, like I said earlier.

 

Enjoy having your character look exactly like every other ECE'd character.  I bet you are the type to fall asleep at an art exhibit.

-KS Hairdos (she uses the Snow Gale hair, but I changed the color of the hat that comes with it to black via Photoshop)

Also looks good with Glorious Perspiration, which I have been using now instead.

Sorry but I'm only seeing the same chins, same mouths and overall the same animu faces for pretty much all ECE presets. Guess it's just a matter of personal tastes.

no, it's a matter of "i use racemenu/ece so it's better"

 

unlike some genius, i can't tell if a char was made with ece or racemenu

but i am sure the picture of the real women of the ece search wasn't made with ece

 

well, it's just a google seach, you can even see the ece menu on some screens of the racemenu search... did you miss that?

It would be better if the ece/RM would you know stop and the thread get back to what it was meant for. People using RM to share their presets, thanks.

 

On a side note it seems I have very similar taste to ragnarok246 as I liked all hers/his along with several others from other people.

For RM3 I would also recommend uploading your exported nif head as well, while the preset should contain everything you need, the nif comes with only the geometry, and can be imported more easily cross-race. However if you are worried about filesize you can stick with the much smaller, editable jslot files.

Well I never said one was better than the other.  I stated that the scripts for ECE do much of the work before hand.  Since it does so much of the work before hand every time you load up your game, it can make some people lazy on their design. I provided an example of this laziness.  This is where I added that mod from the nexus to cite an example.  I mean no disrespect to that author, by the way.

 

I backhandedly accused Luthius Creepus of being lazy, because he is.  His generalization was baseless, and his attempts to refute it were tangential and hollow.  I said his choice was perfectly fine, though.  Twice.

 

I used to use ECE, and then ECE & RM together when they were vaguely compatible.  When they split, I chose RM.  I like its features, and it is compatible with Familiar Faces.  It's possible to get the same character results with either mod, I salvaged my characters quite successfully after ECE & RM stopped partially working together.

 

RM just gives you the tools, it doesn't hold your hand.
