I haven't tried out the new versions yet so I can't comment on most of this, but the spoiler is a thing with DDs in general you can't activate it with your hands bound for animation reasons IIRC.

Surely you're not expected to (minor ropes quest spoiler)

Spoiler

Hobble all the way from Markarth to Dawnstar - that would take hours (IRL time).

Or am I missing something?

Sometimes you can use carriage if you're not in yoke or armbinder. Also ropes can be struggled out of.

DCL 9.0 won't initialize on a new game and has no mcm for me.  Is anyone else having this problem.  DCL 8.5 initializes on a new game just fine and has its mcm.

I have the same problem. I've started a new game and there is no mcm for DCL.

This is old problem even in DCL 8.5. If you have too many mods what uses MCM some of it not initialized. You need remove all mods and add one for one to get working mcm then save. Add next mod, initialize then save. With minimal requirements for DCL MCM always initialize.

Also due to many mods you must wait longer. Up to 10 minutes while all initialize and save load to push next portion of initialize. Want many mods? Then suffer)

As for me DCL 8.5 takes 5 - 6 saves with almost minimal requirements to all initialize properly.

I have a question/complaint/issue. Great mod by the way. I started the Bound in Skyrim quest line. It seems to work. I released Chloe and headed futher into the dungeon. Then I thought "Hey what about the other choice of ending the Bound in Skyrim quest line." So I loaded an earlier save and went to Chloe and said I wouldn't help and the Chloe quest ended. But that's it? I can't release her and have her as a follower? I use her as a follower alot and it would be nice if I could end the Chloe quest but still release her from her restraints and have her as a follower. Just a suggestion.

Hi Kimy,

Thank you so much for the new update! So many new features, so many shiny new toys! I'm only at the very beginning of playing with said new toys, but I've already made a very cool discovery:

- The "LAL quest" Delivery Refused works perfectly even when LAL isn't installed (I much prefer Skyrim Unbound because of its non-dragon options). All one has to do is install DCL normally (without the LAL plugin), then launch the quest via console and rejoice.

Cheers!

Is this really a thing? I have never had that issue before. DCL 9 is literally the first Mod that didn't show an MCM for me. I'm using the same modlist as before just replaced the three DD mods with DD 5 and old DCL with the DCL 9 beta and the mmc does not show up (new game). Is there anything to look for in the log file?

I heard about that and that was resolution. Also mention in this thread you can try use console command to refresh MCM. Also you can publish papyrus log - maybe something wrong here. Also DLC is activated? Maybe plugin not run.

I can guess - you install DCL early then add additional mods. Then DCL initializes well. But now when you replace to DCL 9.0 it's loaded last and too many mod can interfere with it. Anyway papyrus log will be good to understand. And in load order DCL must be as possible down.

Some feedback on the quests:

The forced slow movement for a lot of them is actually pretty grating when you want to progress the quest line. Vekel's stuck me in the dress and heels and told me to go clear some dungeons to try to find something, but I now can't move faster than a walking pace, which is going to make seeking out the dungeons *really* boring, not to mention seriously interfere with clearing them.

Also, having got through that part and up to the 'clean up stinky garbage'... one of the pieces of garbage spawned floating in the air next to one of the bridges

OK, so I fixed it by doing the following (while still in the Abandoned Prison)

- save the game

- disable DCL

- load the game

- save the game

- enable DCL (same place in load order; for completeness' sake: now I did leave out the LAL addon)

- load the game

- wait for "DCL initialized"

- save

- load

- MCM is now present

I don't know if all of these steps were necessary, but for me it worked and was way easier than redoing my whole modlist.

I had the no MCM problem, but fixed it by simply loading an old save where DLC 8.5 was installed, and 9.0 initiated there. (Not sure if you need to do this) Then made a second new game and remained perfectly still in the abandoned prison, if you've got a lot of mods it can take a while for MCM to catch up, by remaining still and opening no menus after about 5'ish minutes everything finished and DLC started up last and worked fine,

Changed: Leon and Leah slavery can once again be triggered by mod events.

Does this mean we can now ask after the quest is completed? Incase we were not interested at the time?

Hi!

Is it possible to activate Chloe's quest without triggering the dragon stuff when using LAL?
Maybe via setstage command?

Wanted to note that I also had the no MCM problem, but that this procedure worked for me.

Also wanted to make a suggestion, if I may, since I believe Kimy said she was still taking those for 9.0: As an alternative to the left in the wilderness (in chains) outcome for combat defeat, maybe you could spawn the player in a random contraption/furniture device instead? The hogtie animation hasn't worked for me in some time (I think this broke around the same time as the damsel quest). This would provide an alternative, and should be minimal work, since the framework for spawning these devices on the player exists with the traps (Disclaimer: I have not tested these features yet in 9.0, but didn't see anything about the left in the wilderness outcome in the changelog).

Naturally, you're free to use or ignore the suggestion as you see fit, but I, for one, am excited to see furniture integrated in DCL, and this seems like a neat way to do it with minimal investment.

Random sidenote: this is my first post after like 5 year of lurking here, lol.

Edit: edited for clarity. Original phrasing of "device" may not have made it clear I meant a contraption / furniture device (though hopefully context would have eventually)

I really don't recommend doing that. Did you save and load game once to let DD initialize? It could have been why DCL didn't load either. When you disable a scripted mod it leaves things in your savefile. Re-enabling the mod does not re-attach the scripts to DCL but are simply "bloat" and can cause instability and unpredictable behavior in your game.

Yes I always do some waiting and saving and loading at the start of a new game, because there are other mods that only initialize on loading (like estrus chaurus). But DCL MCM didn't show up regardless. Since I did all of this still in the abandoned prison before really starting the game I'm hoping there won't be any problems. But honestly I'm not that well versed in Skyrim modding. If it really would be better to just disable anything and then activate mod after mod in an hourlong session I would be willing to do just that. But right now, this _seems_ to work for me

Your fix probably wont have many issues I don't think DCL has that much scripting at least until you leave the AS:LAL cell

in general if that is the fix you need to use you are probably better off:

  • start new game with [mod] disabled
  • do initialization things
  • save & restart as needed for initialization
  • save & quit
  • enable [mod] & load game
  • Initialize [mod] with save & restart if needed
  • Enjoy game

this way you don't potentially get bloat from a partially initialized [mod].

To build on this idea, being left in the wilderness trapped in a contraption would be really neat.  Functionally it would be just like the hogtie, where the player is stuck in place until they escape. Due to the number of contraptions, there would be good variety and this would spice up this feature a lot.

I guess for users what DLC not initialize:

1) Uninstall DCL 9.0

1a) Be sure you have uninstalled previous version of DLC 8.5 or what you have.

2) Start new game, initialize all mods in LAL square.

3) Save a game.

4) load a game and be sure that all mods are initialized.

5) Save a game

6) Load a game an be sure that no ini process run.

7) If run save a game and repeat 5)

8 ) When all initialize exit from Skyrim and install DLC 9.0.

9) Load a game and wait while DLC initializes.

As i think it must work.

This is pretty much precisely what I meant, but I used the poor phrasing choice of "device", without specifying I meant furniture/contraption devices. I've since edited my original post to clarify the intent of my suggestion. Good to know I'm not the only one who thinks it would be a neat feature; gives me some hope it might make it in. Though naturally that's ultimately subject to whether Kimy decides to do so or not.

Hi all,

To those who are experiencing trouble getting DCL 9 to initialize: try the trick with enabling your load order in batches that @Elsidia and @Tenri have posted. It worked brilliantly for me. Also, when you're experiencing this MCM/initialization trouble, check your save game in ReSaver for Suspended Stacks from DCUR. I had dozens of DCUR scripts in there when I attempted the "load all 250 mods all at once" startup at first, which I believe points to a massive overload and explains why the mod never initialized.

@Kimy, I've just played through the first part of the Princess quest again and met Chloe (of course!) and enjoyed it at least as much as last year. I've noticed some very minor visual issues:

Spoiler

- there are lots of flickering lights (they turn on/off depending on camera direction) in the slavers' hideout at the start of the hq quest (I'm thinking there may be too many light sources in the cell because I could fix it during gameplay by disabling some of the lights with Jaxonz Positioner)

- the cart outside the hideout is partially floating above the sloped terrain

- in the slaver's cell in Riften, there are two sconces floating in mid-air just outside of Laura's cell door (I seem to remember from earlier DCL that Leon's dungeon has the same issue)
