marymuir2 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 any helpful suggestions for ZaZ extension pack and DCL wanting different loading orders for DA and ZaZ? I've lost some of the new plugs and devices by not using ZaZ extension :-( But I've also lost the inventory crashes (so far). Really liked seeing new stuff showing up, but no straitjackets or hobble dresses so far. Will it start CTD again if I reinstall Zaz Extension? which loading order should I prioritize, DCL or ZaZ extension?
WaxenFigure Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 5 hours ago, Rynnes Master said: "Memory Issues" as I use the term refers to more than just textures. Reducing or optimizing textures frees up video memory and that's a good thing, but script heavy mods, such as many of those from LoversLab that end up in our load order also put a substantial load on our systems. Try using MemoInfo and watch your memory usage. On my system, if I approach 2.9 gigs I *know* I'm going to face a crash. In my case, reducing the number of NPCs (I was using ASIS to boost enemy numbers) massively reduced the memory load in my system. The inventory scan crash was resolved for me by a combination of all these steps, the most significant of which was probably the out-of-order master correction I did by using Wryebash and TES5Edit. Again, hope these suggestions are of use to you. You aren't using ENBOOST, I rarely see memory usage exceed 1.1GB because all the real memory hogs happen to be the textures which is what ENBOOST moves to a completely different memory space. And I can't run straight from the gate to the market in Whiterun without crashing into several NPCs since I have several mods adding numerous NPCs to make the cities and towns actually feel alive and busy.
Rynnes Master Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Actually I *am* using ENBoost, have since it was first released.

So ENB is about memory not lighting and textures? I see two types on nexus, which to use? and what about the ENBSeries 0.303 which crash fix ENBoost requires? Don't even know what that is? Sorry to be so stupid, but this is not my area of expertise, so be kind to an old lady on Xmas Eve and help me preserve my data (we still have data caps here in Fiji). This is why it took me years to download my first Skyrim mod, I learned on punch cards and dos for pity's sake! All this tech stuff is still scary to me, but I'm trying. Anyways, happy holidays and thx for helping out.

Anyways, happy holidays and thx for helping out. ENB is about both memory (ENBoost) and lighting (ENB). The lighting and visual effects came first, ENBoost came a bit later. ENBoost comes as part of ENB now and is activated, adjusted, and deactivated in it's enblocal.ini file. The vanilla ENB available from the ENB site can be enhanced, if that's the right word, by presets, of which there are many here on the Nexus. Visual tastes vary widely which results in a lot of different presets offering a different take on what is "beautiful". The magic is in, IMO, the fact that such presets are possible. As far as maximizing memory usage in a 32 bit game (the original Skyrim), ENBoost is actually a "must have", even if no preset or visual effects are used. SKSE's memory magic or Sheeson's Crash Fixes, take a different approach to maximizing the memory space available for 32 bit Skyrim and the two approaches are complementary, you can and should use both; personally I prefer Crash Fixes over the SKSE approach because it is more robust and offers more adjustments, helpful because systems and load orders are so very different. One size does *not* always fit all. But the SKSE approach works and is simpler. There are many good tutorials on using ENB and Crash Fixes, hence you have an opportunity for a good helping of reading over the holidays! Me, I'm 71 and have figured this stuff out (the hard way, as always), so if I can do it, I'd bet you can too. Probably with fewer headaches than I have endured. If you decide to use an ENB (and you should, if only for the benefit of ENBoost), select the latest available for Skyrim, which I believe is 3.19.

Also had problems with the ship in Dawnstar after I did the sexlab solutions option, somehow leaving the inn at morthal put me back on the ship in Dawnstar and then CTD. I got a green loading screen instead of black, I tried several times and it just kept happening, never saw a glitch like that before. That one didn't involve the "smoking hot" dialogue so not sure what caused it. Possibly a conflict with Dollmaster in Dawnstar and the ship? So I had to go back and not use the solutions scene for the ship in Dawnstar, in order to progress with the game. Not sure why the cursed loot dialogue isn't just one option but takes over the whole convo and blocks solutions. Despite updating I still have bound girls with amputated arms in front of their armbinders all over Skyrim. Any suggestions as to how to get these mods to play nice together? sexlab solutions needs to be one of the last mods in your load order, even after alternate start LAL. This stops dialogue from other mods affecting it. That said you now have me curious about the can i ask you something dialogue as i dont see it in game at the moment
Maddac Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Kimy I found a problem with the DCL LAL start quest at the end of it my character is not getting untied properly with the slave restraints key. I have tried saving the game just before clicking on the guy and when i do it will randomly remove some items and then put some back on. the items that are removed and re-added are different every time. I am running the latest DDI 4.0 and DDx 4.0 and also Shout Like a Virgin 6.4 and I also tried turning off the halo in SLAV 6.4 the only way i get rid of the slaver devices is to use the "Free Me" button. screenshot attached showing some slaver items equipped. also fyi if i have solicited sex with npc and they equip bondage devices they are not removing the armbinder when removing the items afterward.

I get the "can I ask you something ... you are smoking hot" dialogue even after unticking the bondage dialogue option in MCM. It happens a lot. Many if not most conversations get affected by this. I have to finish it by saying no and then talk to the NPC again to get regular quest/shopping dialogue.
slicksly Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 @Kimy- have you considered removing the forced nakedness for the cursed collar? As in, the starting item, not the entire quest. While I absolutely love the quest, I'm thinking it might make for better gameplay and storytelling. Gameplay-wise, instant forced nudity in a rather long quest is very disruptive in relation to other gameplay elements. While yes, the collar buffs does remove the combat penalties of being naked, the inability of trying on and using new gear is a detriment to other questing and crawling. Pursuing the collar quest, then, becomes first priority, and doesn't mesh well with other gameplay. How about, instead, having the forced undressing come from the cursed harness? This way, the character is still able to follow the typical Skyrim meandering about doing stuff on a whim, rather than being "forced" into a linear path of questing and bypassing a lot of intriguing locations on the way. This of course is also connected to storytelling. I'll spoiler the following segment, as while I expect everyone to have played through the Cursed Collar quest a good handful of times by now, there's probably still somebody who's yet to experience it. Spoiler The character gets locked in an unopenable collar, and all is well and good, but she obviously wants to get it off. Following the hints, she get further into trouble with more devices getting locked on. She's embarrassed of her increasing state of forced helplessness, and tries concealing it with clothes and armor. It works, somewhat, for a while, but as she accumulates more restraints, she's getting more and more desperate to get rid of the entire thing. Eventually, she's past help and travels to the dungeon, where the end of the quest takes place. Instead of the instantaneous "Bam, collar, you're naked now, enjoy your new life", your character instead here gets a chance to "ease" into it. Since the non-nude early effects aren't as detrimental as the current one with forced nudity, it'd be a much more likely story being told of a person unwittingly getting herself into more trouble by simply being curious, or begrudgingly going along to get out of her predicament. And of course, maybe the Collar has been weakened over time, but progress in the quest returns its strenght. Now, I'm familiar with the BDSM community and understand where the collar = nudity thing comes from. This quest, however, isn't about consenting adults and their erotic games. This is about a fantasy universe where and unwitting and (probably) unwilling character gets forced through hoops by a magical item crafted for a sociopathic misogynist. The structure around adult erotic play isn't present. Allowing the character, therefore, some time to get used to things instead forcing too much at once, seems to me to be a better told story. That said, I greatly enjoy your continued work here on loverslab. THanks for your effort, and merry christmas / whatever holiday you prefer. 1
harakoni Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Sharp items isn't working for armbinder removal, was that intended?

The whole point is be completely nude from the start no slowly working your way to full nudity, and there is like 2 other collars in this mod that do the same thing full nudity from the start once you get the collars on you
marymuir2 Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 well the updated DCL has broken my game, updating FNIS has brought all animations to a crashing halt as FNIS 7.0 won't recognize anything, no matter how many times I disable and re enable and reboot and run as administrator. Never got most of the new stuff to show in game, hit animation limit with FNIS (reason for update), I'm so tired of downloading updates and having it make things worse, that I give up. I ran the memory thing, memory is in MB ingame, so that's not the problem. But if I bought a new item from the doll maker, it would show in her inventory but never in mine after I bought it. Never saw any hobble skirts or straitjackets, kept getting that one dialogue, just not working for me. So now I have to rebuild my basic Skyrim game from scratch, till I can get FNIS working again and have at least some animations! My thanks to all who tried to help over the last few days, your kindness is much appreciated. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and happy holidays.
CovertDemon Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 So, I did further troubleshooting and I can say for sure that Sasha is bugged. When I use the mod's Sollicitation feature, I can trigger some bound sex animations, but not with Sasha. Also, you can't take her armbinder off, somehow.

I do have to say that at the moment DCL 6.1 had less bugs than 6.2 as my old game with DCL 6.1 runs fine with all quests and even with SLAV updated to 6.3. I am keen to see DCL with all the new stuff and also purposely have not installed CD shop in latest build until it gets updated for DD4 compatibility. while i am sure kimy would have made certain that DCL6.2 and DDi/DDx 4.0 play well together, i am wondering if there is any issues with DCL6.2 and SLAV6.4 I would not even try to just upgrade an old save game to DDi/DDx 4.0 and DCL6.2 as that will most certainly guarantee to break it due to all the item and script changes It is already pretty obvious there needs to be a patch to DCL 6.2 to fix some stuff but in the meantime i will just happily play my old game while waiting for it and for CDS to be updated as both are an integral part of my devious skyrim game

With all the warning messages I was getting, I resorted to fresh install, and was reminded by an ancient video tutorial that I had to "license" FNIS by running some obscure cmd.exe file. Of course it was something so simple! Just wasted hours on this, only to find that we are only talking 4.5k animations. Not sure why the FNIS patch wouldn't work to raise the number limit, would have been such a quick fix. Anyway, I'm still not seeing straitjackets or hobble skirts, or the new plugs, but I do have the latex gowns from the doll maker. But the old mannequin glitch (message to only put armor on mannequin when entering house) has reappeared somehow. Not sure where that has been hiding all this time. I still get that stupid dialogue about the NPC asking if he can bind me, it even interrupts the regular dialogue menu at times as I'm selecting my quest answer. That's got to be DD or DCL running that script, and it's fun the first few times but now it's just annoying. I like the latex gown, with the mermaid skirt, like something Rita Hayworth would wear in the 40s. Would be nice if someone worked on making those fancier, I like a little frou frou on my DB at times. (The ball gowns were some of the best part of Skyrim Romance). Now if someone could just write the mod to give NPCs more variety when commenting on the PC's clothes or flirting, like SLEN in reverse. I do appreciate that DCL is taking a Dragonborn Gallery approach of folding the other DD mods into its umbrella, and letting the player choose which aspects to explore. Angrim's Apprentice is still one of my favs, just because it's a really well written quest line. Thanks for all the help and encouragement. Like you I am holding off on replaying CD for now, till I'm sure everything is compatible.
ComradeMeow Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 After multiple tests I have come to the conclusion that DDi is entirely bugged as armbinders of any sort are not working. The hands get removed but the armbinder animation is completely dysfunctional in every way possible. The armbinder gets completely ignored and not a single trick has resolved the issue.

Uh, probably need some more information to help you on this. Armbinders work fine for me in the latest version, even when DCL equips them on followers. Checklist I'd run through if it was me having the issue: - All previous devious devices related mods completely uninstalled and files removed - including any mod that patches DD files like Inflation Framework or DD for Him - Only the latest DDI/DDA/DDX/DCL versions installed on the clean environment, no other DD mods installed - Check FNIS has enough room for all the animations, or grab the XXL version - Brand new game (preferably with minimal mods if just troubleshooting) as the mods cannot be updated in an old save

marymuir2 Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 I am also having trouble with the armbinders, none of the settings help, the girls have truncated arms hanging free with useless armbinder in back. I just did a dwemer dungeon after being fitted with a slave collar, and I watched the mem usage report and boy did it spike! Got up to using 2gb on that run through, and even afterwards mem usage stayed high. I think it's the slave collar, it has to check if I'm wearing clothes on a regular basis, that's using so much memory. Still trying to find a high security key for that thing. For now I've turned off body scaling and set the cursed loot % lower, to reduce the burden on the system. It could also partly be the effect of running SexLab Solutions at the same time, although there weren't any solution dialogues for that dungeon. So it appears some fine tuning is still in order re DCL.

I will begin purging mods that rely on older DD functions at the moment since it just turned out that when testing the newer assets and system that they actually worked.
itami_no_hana Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 I think I have found how to use the sharp object. Just use the unlock option on your armbinder after you have a notification on finding sharp thing. Worked for me several times.
