I'm getting crashes trying to load old saves and start new saves with this mod, particularly after updating ZaZ and Devious Devices. Does QAYL need to be updated? Or did I make a mistake somewhere?

Yeah, they work fine without QAYL. That's really strange.

 

 

It's not just QAYL. I don't know if it's Devious Devices, Sexlab, or just general script load on the engine, but loading a saved game is problematic in most circumstances. What you have to do is, from the main menu, load a save somewhere very small and contained. Sometimes your breezehome house works. The starting cell in LAL is perfect. I prefer qasmoke. You can also just open the console in the main menu and coc to qasmoke. Some people start a new game first.

Once this "basic" game is loaded, then you can load your other save.

It's a well-known problem, and this is the only "fix" I've found that actually seems to work. Some people report that using Crash Fixes fixes the problem too, but I've had more problems trying to use that, so... good luck, any way you choose to do it. :)

Question about "The Only Way to Travel" quest. Does the quest have an ending? It just stops when Bjorlam is escorted out through the gate. If that is the "end" of the mod, is there any way to get the quest ID tp "complete" it? I don't like having people standing idle by Bjorlam after reloading my save.

Nope. That's the end. We are still waiting and hoping Doc will be back and he will finish the mod

Wait, seriously? Huh, I thought I was glitched somehow. One of them talks to me and says "We need to get started on the next part" or something similar and then I just get gagged dialogue options. If I navigate through those I just get the standard dialogue options of handing over keys or propositioning for sex or asking about restraints etc, nothing to continue the plot.

 

I thought I was missing something, or that that dialogue was activating when it shouldn't. So...that really is as far as it goes?

 

If so that sucks...I was really enjoying myself with this =(

Getting the same problem as well.  I could load Live Another Life, but it was crashing immediately after I activated the bed after speaking to the mara statue and choosing a scenario.

 

Disabled every mod and went through reactivating them all one by one, disabling qayl resulted in it working again.

You know what would be a nice update for this mod? (and probably significantly less time consuming to create)

Make the race repeatable. The player character may not be interested in another run at first, but that brand might give sufficient 'motivation' eventually. 

The player will be given a choice to do more runs, they know that eventually she will have to accept anyway. 

 

Eventually alternate start and finish locations could be added, but that's optional. Just having the races be repeatable would be a great addition imo :)

 

 

I'm actually tempted to create this myself, though I have absolutely no experience with the GECK at all. And with Doc gone there's no way to ask for permission either.

 

But still, hypothetically, would it be possible to adjust the mod so that the player, after the first race, recieves another letter, directing her to return to the guy (damn I always forget his name) who started the race, then have a small conversation where he asks her to do another race, and if you accept, it repeats the race. Is this somewhat doable for someone with little to no geck experience, or is this something that requires a lot of experience and extensive programming skills?

No matter what I pick. there is no progression beyond this point, and I suspect the dialogue box isn't supposed to appear at all as there are no responses that I have found that are unique to this mod. Anybody got any ideas? thanks!

I know exactly what the problem is. You've reached the end of the content, that is where DocClox left the mod the last time he worked on it. That's it, there's no more until Doc decides he wants to work on it again and add more content.

Hi Folks,

 

I just played this mod and had a lot of fun!  A little disappointed on how it ends, but its still better than anything I ever did.

 

I kinda echo the opinions above: 

If you made the 1st race repeatable (integrated with Simple Slavery mod), throw on some random tats and apparel, maybe flesh out something despicable to do to get the perma tats off from the "Alchemist",

It would be usable, non-game breaking, and buy the original author time to develop their actual vision for the mod.  If only I had the scripting chops, I would do it my self. (With the consent of the original author, of course).

 

Whats there is great, looking forward to the next installment.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand on getting this (and other DD 'helpless' type) mods to work together. The problem I'm having is that once my toon is running around naked and bound, many NPCs that I wouldn't assume would be hostile are hostile. She's also getting killed constantly by roaming animals and it's next to impossible to get her anywhere. I'm using DA with YMORL and Capture, Defeat, but neither Dangerously Nude nor Deviously Helpless. I've even disabled Dialogs (and SD+) and tried again.

 

This looks like a lot of fun (for me, at least - lol) but it's just not working well enough to put up with.

Indeed. 

If this was repeatable I would play this mod again and again. I would imagine the PC goes from being forced and unwilling, to reluctant but willing, to slightly enjoying it, to being highly addicted to it. Having that brand constantly arouse her to the max and the only way to satisfy her needs is racing, she will have no choice but to race, and she will eventually start to love it too. in the beginning she would put it off as long as possible, trying to ignore her desires, but she always ends up doing another race, more and more frequently until eventually she does a race almost every day.

i think i must have a bugged copy for something, I started it through the CCAS and got dumped naked somewhere near Riftin and told my stuff is at Northwatch keep, having got there, I found an empty chest and a note asking me to get into the cage, which then slamed shut. what's meant to happen next, I've been waiting for over a week

You should sleep, then there will be a message in front of a cage if you read it, it should open itself.

Not wait tho, sleep in a bed in the cage.

How long did you slept? You should at least sleep for 12 hours.

Just to echo the comment quoted above, I was able to replicate this behavior. I don't believe that Live Another Life is the only source of problems; on an isolated build with nothing but their parent files running, ASLAL and QAYL play nice, but when the CTD behavior on approach to the carriage drivers or the Solitude world space is happening, loading QAYL after ASLAL appears to resolve the issue (at least on my mod profile).

 

I've also found another complication that I'm currently trying to unravel. Complete Fast Travel Overhaul disables the vanilla carriage drivers and replaces them with its own custom NPCs. As you can imaging, this causes compatibility problems with other mods. However, Skyrim Licensed Universal Travel Solutions (or whatever SLUTS stands for...) reverts this change and nicely moves the carriage drivers off the cart, so while you get two NPCs with the same name (easily fixed by renaming the CFTO NPCs), all the functionality is preserved.

 

The problem comes in with loading QAYL, which moves the Whiterun carriage driver back onto the cart. This results in him being a two-headed mutant who only offers the CFTO dialogue options. This probably requires a compatibility patch to fix, perhaps moving the CFTO NPC off the cart, but I wanted to raise the issue here and see if anyone had come up with (or could offer) a less invasive workaround.

If you don't see a note after about 12 hours of sleep, you will just need to reload a previous save as you might have a bug.  However, if you see a note on a plate you might just try picking it up.

Now you need to try to get out of your gear the usual way. Ask other people for help, or try to struggle your way out of your armbinder. Then you can use the solvent that was in the chest to remove some of your tattoos, except for the brand on your back. Unfortunately there is only 1 solvent bottle and no legit way to get more, so I usually cheat myself a few more bottles. 

 

A few days later you will recieve another letter, which will eventually lead to another scene that is, sadly, not finished. The mod ends there.

Hi, can someone explain me how exactly this mod works, because its look like that there is something wrong ;/ i spawn tied, found note and run for like 5-10 and nothing happened that wood elf at the beginning trying to kill me, i checked through console and he is edited by QAYL so there should be some kind of scene right ? Thx for help !

Now you need to walk to the "finish line" to get your gear back, while trying prevent getting raped/enslaved on your way there :D

Mods like Deviously Enslaved work well with this. 

 

There should be a quest in your Journal that will put a quest marker on your map so you know where it is.
