Playingskyrim Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I just read a comment on another Skyrim modding site about LL having "the FBI virus". Is this, in fact, true, or just someone trolling? I've never heard of an "FBI virus".

(Honestly, why do you think his name is Red? Red = Bad) The Moderators here are all in collusion with Ashal and the only reason why they don't 'ban' people is because their waiting for a critical mass of us to become part of the 'community' for a 'big bust'. Tread lighlty. (Or you know don't believe everything you hear, and make sure you have basic anti-virus and firewalls and ad-blockers in place before you get your computer online. The internet's a scummy place no matter which website you go to.)

The stupid thingy went straight to the recycle bin after having one its work but didn't empty it, not to speak of completely deleting its data by nulling out the areas of the HDD where it recided. So some nice people from the Chaos Computer Club could examine it. But those were the early days. If the FBI or any other organisation of that type wanted to know anything about the people, they have other means. Industrial espionage, worldwide eavesdropping on anything they can get their filthy hands on. Together with the European shithead organisations like GHCQ and related. Dunno if they are same as FBI i think Interpol have less saying in internal matters then FBI have in the US i think?
chevyowner Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 There has to be quite a few different "FBI" viruses. I have seen a few of them but the ones I see don't let windows boot, and if you have a webcam puts the video from that on the screen in a box to make it look like you are being watched.

I got zapped by that but I got if from....wait for it...NEXUS when I was browsing without AdBlock enabled. I got a pop up about not being able to view the page wihout updating JavaScript and before I could close the window it had me. It wasn't a big deal to get rid of (restart in safe mode, uninstall Java, registry scrub and virus clean up) but it DID scare the shit out of me until I realized the FBI wouldn't demand a money transfer on a green card. In all the time I've spent on LL and VGU for that matter, I've never had any virus issues.
